ID: Series Amps
Blackstar's ID: Series represents a truly groundbreaking achievement, combining unique innovations, an intuitive, traditional control set and the versatility of programmability. In the five years since its launch, Blackstar has been helping lead the way in the innovation of guitar amplification. The ID: Series represents the culmination of more than seven years technical research and development. The unique controls allow you to custom design your own sound, store it and then have the confidence that the amp will perform in a live environment.

Blackstar's True Valve Power offers six distinctly different power valve responses - EL84, 6V6, EL34, KT66, 6L6, KT88. When engaged, it delivers the response, dynamics, sag and break-up characteristics of a valve amp and uniquely delivers the same acoustic power output as an equivalent valve power amp. This means that for the first time ever, in an affordable series of amplifiers, these products deliver live without compromise - True Valve Power means loud as valve.

The Voice control has six different channels - Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD 1, OD 2. When used together with Blackstar's patented ISF control you can get the exact tone you're thinking of. The effects section delivers studio quality modulation, delay and reverb effects simultaneously that you can store with your sound. Deep editing and storing of patches is simple using the supplied Blackstar GUI software. Patches can be shared, uploaded and downloaded via our online community. The USB connector also allows you to record your amp directly to your computer. An emulated output, MP3/line input and midi footswitching functionality complete the package.

By using the unique Voice control, patented ISF and patent-applied-for True Valve Power, these amplifiers allow unparalleled flexibility and ease of use, enabling you to in effect, design the sound in your head and deliver it live as loud as valve. Individuality is power.

Comments about Blackstar ID:30 1x12 30W Programmable Guitar Combo Amp with Effects:

I am a guitarist who has been playing for 25 years in gigging cover bands. I don't play just in my room so I know what it takes for an amp to work on stage. My main gigging amp is a 1970s Marshall JMP 50 but I'm always on the lookout for something smaller that packs a punch to bring to cramped stage gigs. About a year ago I tried the Blackstar HT5 Combo for about a week. I was NOT impressed. They can call it tube all they want but it is solid state and it plays like a solid state. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for me, it just didn't cut it. Very sterile sounding. Still, I want to like Blackstar so I am giving the ID30 combo a run. First impressions out of the box: I hated it but after playing around with it for many hours it is starting to grow on me. The biggest problems with it are the effects stink. They are useless. Second, there is no mid control on the amp itself and that really limits the usefulness. You can dial in mids using the tap button in combination with another knob but I haven't been able to make it work. Luckily, the ISF is more or less a mid tweaking knob, so it'll do the trick. The positives: It really does respond well for a solid state amp. Very, very dynamic. It takes pedals, especially overdrive pedals, like a real tube amp. I've been A/Bing it next to my Marshall on a 4x12 cab with Greenbacks to try and mimic the sound and believe it or not, I can get pretty close. Not the same, but on stage with full band nobody would know the difference besides me. It really does have tube response. Also, it is PLENTY loud enough to gig with. Back to the sound. If you put this amp on super crunch and the EL34 setting it sounds EXACTLY like the HT5. Whatever Blackstar is doing to get that sound is in this amp. What makes the ID30 better is it responds to playing better, no. 1, and no.2 the ability to switch output tube emulations. KT88s and 6V6 in particular sound awesome. As does the crunch and OD1 setting. If you play any classic rock or hair metal from the 80s, this amp will get you there easily. My advice is this: If you are thinking about buying the HT5, get this instead. You get the same sound plus a whole lot more.

Comments about Blackstar ID:30 1x12 30W Programmable Guitar Combo Amp with Effects:

Okay, I am as of this writng 51, an old rocker, singer/songwriter and LOVE tube amps. I own Marshalls, Traynor, Peavey, Line 6. I have owned Vox, Mesa Boogie and a few others. Okay for this amp not being a tube amp, I am blown away by how amazing it sounds. The 30 watt is powerful and stays right with my band, fantastic becuase it is so light that my old back does not need to haul heavy stuff. The sound is so totally amazing that you really can cover any style of music and it does not sound like a model amp at all. Not to mention that you can select the tube types and it really does come so very close to the real deal that I now leave behind the heavier amps. I say this becuase I have many tube amps and A and B them. I am very impressed with this amp and though I will not get rid of my tube amps, this has been finding it's way to my gigs more than the tube brothers. BEST model amp out there, it really smokes them all.

I have had a Fender Mustang 3 amp for 2 years but felt the sounds except for the Fender cleans were lacking depth. I read the reviews about this amp and thought I would give it a try. The TVP settings are awesome along with most effects. The 30 watt version I have is LOUD. I have a Strat, Tele and Les Paul and they all seem to work with this amp quite well. The USB interface also works well with Blackstar's online patches. The chorus is probably the weakest part of its' effects but to me that isn't a deal breaker. Great job Blackstar!

A very versatile amp. The latest firmware update has made this amp sound better. This amp is as loud as a 30 watt tube amp, but much lighter in weight! A midrange knob would have been appreciated, but it can be accessed through the software. This amp blows away my old Fender Mustang 3 for quality of sound, especially at lower volume levels. The ISF feature alone, separates Blackstar from the competition!

Comments about Blackstar ID:30 1x12 30W Programmable Guitar Combo Amp with Effects:

This is the first amp that has really blown me away and I have 12 amps including 2 blackstar tube amps (a 100w Venue series head and a combo 60 stage 2x12) and an EVH 5150 III. It brings out the individual sounds of my 26 guitars and their hot rodded pickups better than any other amp I have. The problem is I like it seaux much, I had to order another more powerful version - so just finished ordering a new Blackstar ID:260TVP 2x12" 2x60-Watt Programmable Stereo Combo! This Blackstar series blows away the Line 6 Spyders and and thier new amplifi 150 as well as the PV Vypyrs big time!
