Rarely do I write reviews on Musicians Friend but feel compelled to do one on this amp. I have quite a few amps from a dual stack Jet City, Vox, Mesa/Boogie and others. I just wanted to a small amp to practice on and to not lug around my bigger amps to church.
The cleans on this amp are drop dead gorgeous. The crunch is really, really good. You can also manually make your own settings and save them. I don't know how Blackstar did it in getting such good sounds out of such a small package. I purchased mine here via Stupid Deal of the Day so I got mine as a real steal.
If you want an amp that can be mic'd up to or just play in your bedroom, go for it! Seriously, you won't be sad you did. No one paid me for this review. I don't work for Musicians Friend or any music retailer.

I found I had to turn the volume knob up to "9:00 o'clock" before I got any sound. At first I thought it was my cord or my guitar, but it was the same on all guitars. I then tried to gradually up the volume know and it responds only when you get to about a quarter of the way around the dial (the 9:00 o'clock position). Don't know if that ultimately means I'm not getting all the volume it should be capable of or if it's just poor sensitivity of the volume pot between the zero and 6:00 o'clock positions. Can't recommend the amp due to the volume anomaly.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 10 Limited Edition Cream 10W Combo Guitar Amplifier:

Plenty of small amps get loud but don't deliver on good sound quality. Somehow this amp manages to produce some great bottom-end/full tones that, and it gets pretty loud too. The effects sound really good without sounding "artificial". I don't plan on using the USB, etc. but those features sound pretty useful.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 10 Limited Edition Cream 10W Combo Guitar Amplifier:

For the price and what this amp delivers, it can't be beat - hands down! If you're in the market for a practice amp with a great variety of tones and even the ability to DI for credible recording (seriously!), get this. If you're a beginner you'll find this plenty loud enough and you'll be spoilt for built-in effects. I wish they had these *years* ago when I was starting out. I have a larger amp (that Boogies) but use this to keep the peace at home. A no brainer.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 10 Limited Edition Cream 10W Combo Guitar Amplifier:

I needed a small combo amp to keep bedside in my bedroom for night time playing - I have a thinline acoustic that was lacking a little in projection and bass, so I began a search for a quality affordable amp. What really appealed to me the most about this amp was the stereo speakers, and it had really good reviews. On sale I figured I couldn't miss - I was more than pleasantly surprised.

This little amp took my average six string acoustic from a decent sounding guitar to a beautifully resonant, booming and crystal clear chiming guitar. The stereo set up even makes the output of the amp sound and feel like it's coming directly from my guitar sound hole. It took a few minutes for me to figure out the "Manual" and pre-set tone/effect/drive options, but it went quickly. I easily dialed in a great sounding ZZ Top-style fuzz, and really dreamy combination of modulation, delay and reverb.

Speaking of the effects, these are the best sounding built-in amp effects I've ever experienced. On top of the massive stereo sound and great effects, I just love how this amp looks.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything made by Blackstar.

Perfect for those that want a good house/apartment amp. Like others I have bigger and much more expensive amps but this is my go to for home jamming. I've plugged my phone or tablet in and noodled to blues and rock backing tracks many nights. The tone is great. Has plenty of volume and controls are easy to use like the other two ID series amps I own.

I saw this amp as one of the Stupid Deals of the day at MF. I had BS points from a guitar I had purchased. I said "why not?". I tried it at a local guitar store and I really liked the way it sounded. So, I bought it. I am so glad I did!! It is such a versatile and great sounding little amp. The stereo sound and all of the pre-set effects makes this amp so awesome!! Plus, you can download more effects from Blackstar! Plus, there are many more features. It basically eliminates the need for any pedals! If you cant find a good personal sound from this amp, then you are impossible to please! Keep in mind that this amp is just a practice amp. So, unfortunately you can't gig with it, but they do make larger watt models if that's what you would need this type of amp to do. The stereo sound pushes air and gives it a surround sound feel. I have high ceilings in my apartment with wood floors and that makes it sound even better!! Like butta!!!! If you're on the fence, jump off and get it!! You won't be disappointed!! Blackstar hit a homerun with this! Because of this, I will look at other Blackstar amps for future purchases.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 10 Limited Edition Cream 10W Combo Guitar Amplifier:

I picked up the Blackstar ID core 10 on a Stupid Deal of the Day. The special price made it a really sweet deal but I think even at the regular price it would be hard to beat the value. The small Peavey I've had for many many years just up and croaked on me recently, and although I didn't feel an urgent need for a replacement, I kept seeing all these variations on the small practice amp theme, and when I found the Blackstar advertised on the Stupid Deal, I decided it was time to see what a newer amp had to offer - something to keep upstairs for practicing in the study as opposed to the larger amp in the basement "band room." Also thought it might be handy for home demo recording, eliminating the need to hook up multiple pedals to my digital portastudio.
I've had it for a little over a week, and the ID Core 10 has met my needs and my expectations. It took me a couple of minutes to work out the onboard voices & effects. Although the paperwork that comes with the amp is really minimal, the effects mechanisms are pretty intuitive. Nice crunch and overdrive, big wallowing plate reverb, decent tremolo - all at your fingertips with the twist & push of a few simple knobs & buttons.
I have yet to do a USB hookup to download additional patches from the Blackstar website, but that's my next move. I have done some demo recording with it - just line out from the 1/8 phones jack, converti on the other end to a 1/4, and right into my Tascam recorder. Sounds great.
Very happy with this purchase so far, and hope to be better educated and doing more with it soon.

I bought this on a whim when MF was blowing them out as the SDOTD.
I figured for less than the cost of a mid priced pedal I'd give it a try.
I'm pleasantly surprised! It's a cool little amp. Well worth to price.
I have 2 tube amps that I use in a band situation that I play on regular basis in my man cave, but I can carry this little guy around the house and on the patio, plug it in and rock out.
You can get cool tones and some not so cool tones w/ all the tweaking you can do on this amp.
I tend to play it at low volumes and the stereo sounds pretty cool.

Used a MF DOD to score a great deal on this Blackstar ID 10 in the cream color. The amp looks great and sounds really good, albeit with volume limitations. No real cons, I expect it to be reliable.

I'd recommend searching YouTube to find a good instructional video on how to use the onboard effects. There is shortcut sheet provided, but it was a bit difficult for me to decipher.

Nice small lightweight amp, perfect for my 7yo son's size. He can carry it easily. It looks great, lots of features, and it sounds good.

I bought this for a practice amp to have in my bedroom so when I feel like getting in some practice time it's always at the ready. (I have a vintage Marshall stack out in my rehearsal studio, but who wants to burn tubes and gobs of electricity for practicing.) For this purpose it's a great little amp. My only tiny complaint is that if you're hoping this is going to sound close to an actual tube amp, you're going to be disappointed. I wasn't because I didn't expect it to. I think even the models in my old PODxt sound better, frankly. Now, that said, it's good enough and with the true stereo sound and nice effects you'll still feel inspired. For example, nearly 3 hours ago I was going to go to sleep. Then I felt guilty because I hadn't really done much playing today, so I told myself that I'd just do about 15 minutes of practice and then crash out. I fired up this amp to my favorite lead/shred preset with some stereo delay and started playing. I JUST NOW STOPPED!! Even with the less-than-convincing tube modeling, this amp still manages to make practicing fun! I got it on a Stupid Deal sale and it was worth every penny!!

The only thing small about this amp is its dimensions. I bought this on a whim because I wanted to see how Blackstar performs in its most basic form (my first Blackstar). And, I like to have a practice amp in every room possible. I'm very impressed. Small amps used to always have a "thin" sound. Not the case with this one. The sound is full and the effects lend a lot of diversity without sounding contrived or cheesy. I would guess that mic-ing this amp and running through a p.a. would certainly be plausible. The sound is that good. It does get loud too. I haven't had it over 4. The computer line in/out is a bonus, although I can't comment on that since I don't anticipate using that feature. I'm so impressed I ordered a Fly & extension for the bedroom!

Great product so far. Small, but cool as hill looking; seriously. People look it over an wonder at the sound it can provide. Nice little piece of work BlackStar. (Mine is creme. The bestest colour of all. < grin>)

This little amp is a great practice amp. The clean channel is squeaky clean and the effects are awesome for such a small amp. I'm learning guitar and so far I really love this thing. Fun to place with and so many features for the price and size of it :)
