Comments about Blackstar Series One 212 2x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet 140W:
I have owned this cabinet for a couple of days along with the Blackstar 1046L6 head. Its basically the same dimensions as the head so the head sits on it nicely. The reason I bought it was to match the brand of the head. I didn't know much about Celestion Neo speakers but I decided to buy it anyway. I still haven't been able to find anything about these speakers on the internet and apparently Blackstar is in the process of switching the speakers out to V30's. I also noticed these have higher wattage ratings than the V30's. The front mesh is fairly thick and it looks like it should hold up. There are handles on both of the sides to pick it up. Blackstar says these are made of birch plywood. I haven't removed the back so I can't say how good the quality is. There are two 1/4" inputs. Blackstar recommends using one cable and set the head to 8 ohms. If you use two cables you would set the head to 16 ohms. I can't really say how well they sound since this is my first cabinet and I have nothing to compare it to but so far I like them since it handles the gain and the low end well. Most of the other manufacturers are using the V30 in there 2x12 cabs such as ENGL, and Mesa. Blackstar also puts them in their Artisan 2x12 cab so I am not sure if those would have been a better choice.
