Blackstar

The power and tube tone to satisfy the needs of larger venues, housed in a 1x12 combo.

The Blackstar HT Soloist HT-60S is an ideal compact gigging amp for players who want the power to handle larger venues but in a 1x12 combo format. The HT-60S Soloist from the Blackstar Venue series has 2 channels and 4 modes that are augmented by an additional footswitchable solo boost. The solo boost will add up to 10dB of level boost and can be used in conjunction with the Body switch for fat, singing leads.

The Blackstar combo amplifier's Clean Channel has 2 modes, 'boutique' and 'modern' and its own Tone control provides a wide range of clean tones. The Voice switch reconfigures both the preamplifier voicing and gain structure, and the power amplifier damping, to reproduce either ringing Class A Performance in the 'boutique' mode, or very clean and tight Class AB tones in the 'modern' setting.

The Overdrive Channel on the Blackstar Venue tube amp has its own EQ section and a Voice switch that allows the character of the channel to be changed, providing a wide variety of overdriven tones. The channel is characterized by a tone that's high in gain, but lacks any of the detached top-end 'fizz' often found in similar designs. This is a result of the Blackstar HT-60S guitar amp's unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques, which cleans up the overdrive beautifully as the guitar volume is reduced. Even at the most extreme settings, the Blackstar amp's overdrive channel remains natural sounding. The ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control is unique to Blackstar Amplification and represents a major step forward in tone shaping flexibility.

The ISF control shifts the response of the 3-control tone stack between a US-type response at one end, and at the other a UK-type response. The Blackstar amplifier has an infinite number of alternative tone choices in between the 2 extremes that would be otherwise unavailable.

The Blackstar HT Soloist 60 tube amp also features a completely natural sounding digital reverb, which is outstandingly musical on both clean and crunch tones and raises the benchmark for guitar amplifier specific reverb design. A Dark/Bright switch allows the overall reverb characteristics to be modified to suit different tastes and playing styles.

Comments about Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a really great amp with any tone you can imagine. Had mine for 3 years and did a lot of shows and rehearsals with it. Well it stopped working on the od channel and after having it gone thru sorry to say I have to be happy with just the clean channel. The cost of repair is not practical. Better to get a new amp. Guess it's a good thing I have my Boogie 5:50 for a backup

Comments about Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking for a combo as opposed to my Marshall JCM900 halfstack. I tried several top choices and really thought I knew what I wanted but kept coming back to the Blackstar HT-40 for sound. It just didn't have enough features. The soloist 60 fills all that and more but mostly this tone is thick and gorgeous. Its not a high gain amp per say, it won't get you to recto rage but it will snarl and scream for sure with sweet SWEET clean tones, warm and luscious. Complimnets both my Strat and Les Paul equally with respect to their distinct differences. I have a custom Tele with TV Jones and its Juicy. My PRS Tremonti sounds tremendous. My Schecter Black Max 7 string would prefer a vintage 30 but hey, I don't play that to much any way. I have the extension cab but I took it to a gig by itself with live drums and had no issues with volume. I keep the clean channel volume around 8 and the lead channel about 5.5. The master is smoking loud on 2. Both channels have "color" switches and the master section has another body switch to further customize your sound. It might be difficult to find one to demo but it will be worth the time. Blackstar, started by a team of professionals from Marshall. I like it! I think I will order the 5 watt METAL head.

Comments about Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been playing guitar for over 40 years, and have owned over 30 combo amps in every price range. The Blackstar HT 60 Soloist is as good as any combo amp I have ever owned. It has excellent tone in both the clean and overdrive channels. The reverb and effects loop are first class. If you want a world class combo amp at a price that can't be beat, then this is the one.

I have been playing music for a living for 40 years. This is one of the most awesome amps I have ever used. Although I primarily bought it for the boost feature, both the clean and overdrive channels sound excellent and the tweakability of the overall sound is unbelievable for an amp in this price range. You've gotta get this!

Ok it's very sweet on the cleans, great on the blues reminds me of a tamed fender hot rod Deville 2/12.when you try the drive on overdrive its a little under driven, great for southern rock to zz top but no heavier even some old gnr, is hard to meet output maybe I got a bad one but the last one I tried sounded the same.has a great boutique clean sound and also boost Channel on foot pedal and function button sounds like it just doubles decibels no real change there. I use it so far very sturdy but nothing in manuals as far as changing tubes and blackstar doesn't give any info. ether you have to know your business if you intend on changing your own tubes and a little ohms law...hope you got a better understanding of this u k amp.great deal at musician friend and they always back up what they sell.

Comments about Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Until this, I've used NOTHING but Mesa Boogie's. But one day I sent both my live rigs and my studio rig ahead between the 2 cities I live in. Forgetting I had a rescheduled lesson I had to give. I quickly ran to a local popular store, that also carries Boogie's by the way, and came across this.

I didn't even have time to try one out, I simply remember reading about them because they just came out. I bought one and had 5 minutes to play with it before my student showed up. Based on the ratio of what I was expecting to get and what I actually got, I was more impressed than with a Boogie.

These are so inexpensive for what you get in tone, features, and the effectiveness of the switch that comes with it. Done deal. When I got back from my trip, I ordered another through MF so I have one at both homes as an impressive backup.

Try one out... before you have to start paying for the Blackstar name more than the product itself. You get so much for such an inexpensive tube amp. Great product, can't say enough about it. Love it.

P.S. - I've put all my pedals and pods through this guy and hooked it up to my Hughes & Kettner cab, it puts out.

Comments about Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp has all the power you need. Plenty of head room. The tone is exceptional. The boost on the footswitch is originally one of the reasons I bought the amp, and it works great. But this amp really shines with the tones. If you can hear it in your head, you can dial it in with this amp. It's a tone monster. I don't even use my 5:50 Boogie anymore or my Marshalls. This is all I need. Get this amp. It's worth every penny. I added casters because it's a little beefy and I'm getting old.

I've been playing for 29 years and normally use a Soldano SLO, so I definitely know how a good tube amp should sound and react. This being said, the Blackstar HT-60S is an incredible versatile little combo with excellent tone and feel! Has plenty of gain for anything from blues to metal. Clean channel is fantastic and has a great deal of headroom. Amp takes pedals well, and is a serious bargain. Can't lose with this one....

Comments about Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

You will not find a better tube amp for under $1000

Until recently, I've used only Mesa Boogie's since the late 90's. I've felt EVERY other brand to be inferior, and I've tried them all, literally.

This is the FIRST time I've found anything other than my Boogie's that are worth my attention, and for under a grand.

It's a smooth, rich, powerful amp with plenty of headroom. If you like the old school sounds like from Marshall's you can get it, and all new school sounds with a bit harder US sounding grit.

It's definitely not a Boogie, but it's not intended to be or marketed to be.

If you're on a budget or just want to add something to your collection or to tote around with you everyday, this is it. Pedals and POD's sound EXCELLENT through it as well.

Comments about Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking for a new amp and a friend told me about this amp. I was kinda skeptical because I had never really heard of the name Blackstar. But I was surprised. I've played through many amps and this one could keep up with any of them. You can get many sounds through the overdrive channel and the clean channel as well with the voicing control. About a week after I got this amp I had a weird humming noise coming from the amp, but it wasn't coming out the speaker. I sent it back to the music store and Blackstar replaced it and the other one has been great for over a year now. I use this amp in church at home and can play out anywhere I want because it has plenty of power. I hardly ever turn the master past one quarter
