After many years of playing, I had gotten SO TIRED of the sound of a dang ol' chorus pedal. Every guitarist must have one somewhere in their bag of tricks, but I was at a point where I just could not stand hearing my guitar with chorus on it period. I bought this pedal because of it's versatility. You aren't married to one single sound. You have one manual and four programed sounds at your access totaling five. I have to say that this pedal had renewed the whole chorus thing for me. I actually LOVE the sounds I get with this unit. Boss (Roland) has always made the very best gear. I'm glad they came out with this product and I couldn't be happier that I bought it !! It is so user friendly that Rainman could probably program it and it's built like a tank too !! The thing I keep coming back to however is the fact that it is so versitile. That is HUGE for me. it's wonderful to have a pedal that does more that one single thing. I'm going to buy Boss's digital delay version next. Two thumbs up from this reviewer !!

So many options, you are bound to found a sound that works for your needs. The quality of the tone is what puts this pedal a mark above. Problems included the bypass amplitude is smaller than the active channel. And of course, it will be worth the money to buy the adapter as this pedal is a battery hog.

Love Hate Relationship

I have used this chorus for nigh on 2 years now and just really have not been totally wowed by it. The memory feature is nice and I enjoy having several presets to choose from, but the overall sound quality just doessn't do it for me. I find that the Ambience and Brilliance controls are only good for acoustic guitar. When using it with electrics especially with high gain, the ambience just sounds like a annoying digital reverb and doesn't "enhance or control the amount of effect" like the directions say. I am really thinking about going to the MXR m134 for a basic analog chorus sound. This pedal just sounds too sterile and digital for me.

Great for my acoustic

I use this twin pedal with my martin and it has been nothing but great. The sound quality is excellent and the fact you can save presets and switch between them on the fly is a huge plus for me. All of the settings sound great with my acoustic excpet for the "acoustic" setting. The acoustic setting is very tinny and sounds terrible through an acoustic amp or p.a. The ambience knob is actually a very decent reverb, but the brilliance knob sounds equally as bad as the acoustic setting and makes things sound very bright and shrill. The rich and standard settings sound wonderfull though and I wouldn't trade this pedal for any other chorus pedal on the market.

DELICIOUS

I got this pedal a little while ago. I FREAKIN' LOVE THIS PEDAL. It has awesome chorus and effects to it. It can be used for anything. One problem is that the twin series boss pedals tend to burn up batteries like its gasoline. You spend a lot of money in batteries, so you should get the power adapter.other than that, you can make any sound imagineable. there is more features then you could ever need.

Beats all others...

I compared this pedal (BOSS CE-20 Chorus Pedal) with the boss compact pedals (BOSS CE-5/CE-1). Before trying them, I wasn't sure the extra cost would be justified until I heard the CE-20. I play an Ibanez electric-acoustic, and the difference in tone I could get out of this pedal was amazing. I compared this side by side with the Boss CE-5, and this pedal really just sounded so much richer, especially on the "acoustic" setting. There simply wasn't any comparison. Another thing that's really great if you plan on playing live is the fact you can set up 5 presets. For me, that was the tipping point - I get incredible sound, and I can use 5 different presets that are footswitch selectable, which really helps when I play - sometimes I'm playing acoustic solo's, which need one setting, and when playing with the band we have lots of different sounds we emulate, so being able to switch is a huge help. I am very satisfied. If you are thinking of getting one of the compact boss chorus pedals (CE-1/CE-5), I would recommend you first listen to this one - once you do, I think you'll end up buying the CE-20.

HOLY S***!

By Anonymous

first off, i play the bass, and i am extremely picky when it comes to my tone and how my effects mess with it. when i turned it on and tweaked it, all i was able to do was say "wow." amazing pedal. ran it side-by-side with the BOSS CEB-3 Bass Chorus, and the CE-20 did everything the CEB-3 could do, but better, with more versatility, and AMAZING QUALITY IN TONE! the low and high knobs as well as the brilliance and ambiance knobs add so much more flavor to whatever it is you need. i almost want to keep it on the entire time because the sound is just beautiful. worth more than every penny.

Versitile PEDAL!

I got this pedal a month ago and it is amazing! The presets are awesome and the amount of different settings and tones is awesome! Ive used it for Hendrix's "Castles Made Of Sand" and Nirvana's " Come as You Are" as well as my bands own songs, this pedal can do soo much! I use the heavy preset when I play Eruption and it gives you a phase type sound just like eddie! In short this is an amazingly versitile pedal that anyone bored with the normal chorus tone should own.

Cool, but unnecessary

Just way too many chorus sounds that sound too similar. There is no way that you would use all of these. But, a good idea.

Great Pedal, Great Sound

I am using the pedal with my Taylor acoustic guitar and the sound is awesome. Although it is more expensive than some other chorus pedals, the sound quality is worth the extra expense.
