I got this delay pedal based on the reviews that I read here and on other websites. I do not use alot of delay, just a light amount with some chorus for clean stuff. I have wrestled with the whole anolog versus digital argument that everyone seems to have a different opinion on and I finally decided that I realy don't care and since I do not use alot of delay anyways, I was't willing to pay a huge amount of money for a quality anolog delay, but I also wanted something that would last me a while and so, again based on al the reviews I have read, I went with the Boss DD-6. I am still learning the pedal but to me this thing sounds awesome, especially for my intended purpose. I can say that this thing has a wide range of useful delays that would,I assume, suit just about anyones needs. I am not however impressed with the Hold function, to me it's pretty much useless only having 5.2 seconds of recording time, but I didn't buy it for the added bells and whistles although the warp and reverse functions are pretty nice and work well once you figure them out. This pedal seems to be built well and it has a five year warranty from Boss which is nice. As I said, this thing has a wide range of delay for most, (I don't know why anyone needs more than this offers), and it does what it's intended for and does it well.

This is a great effect pedal, plenty of options, and very playable. On the other hand, if you don't have 5 bucks in your pocket to buy a new 9 volt battery every day, watch out. This thing is a power vampire! You can only get a few good hours out of it before it dims out. Just hope you're not using it during a show...you might miss out on that great solo opportunity! I still really like it though.

    Worth the hype

I've heard nothing but good things about this pedal and they're all true. I bought this back in November of 2007 and it's a great addition to my rig.

I Use This Thing All The Time

    By Anonymous

I've had this pedal about half a year now, and this is a really great addition to my guitar and bass rigs. The DD-6 doesn't color your tone at all and is extremely versatile. I'm a really poor gear head and so I pick apart everything I can do with what I've got. I use the DD-6 all the time, for U2- esque melody lines, crazed guitar solos, and for those little subtle touches that make certain parts pop out of a mix. I only have two gripes about the pedal. First, the reverse delay doesn't really make sense, so don't be fooled by the clip here on the site, it's really hard to make it sound like that. Secondly, you have hold down the pedal in order to punch the tempo, so whenever you use the delay you have to realize that you either need to turn it on during a rest or play the whole song with delay. It takes about three seconds to set the tempo, which leaves a nice little mess of off tempo delay whenever you turn it on. I've learned how to work around this, by just picking and choosing when to use the pedal, and now it's second nature to compensate for this minor shortcoming.

    Awesome pedal!

    By utcguitar

First of all this is a boss product, so you can expect reliability and toughness. It has so many different times and settings it is amazing! The sound is very crisp and clear. The only thing is that my friend has a digitech digidelay and I do find the reverse setting to be a little more versatile on the digidelay but there is nothing wrong with this one. Now, it is expensive for a single pedal but you will forget the price once you get this little thing. Its simply an amazing pedal!

    Tone sucker

    By MIke-cNyMp

Love the things this little guy can do. I can get nice slap back echo, more ambient echo, and even loop my playing. The reverse delay works ok, but isn't enough on its own to get a synth string sound (I was really hoping it would be).The big problem is that the pedal sucks the tone right out of my rig. It's like a blanket is thrown over my speakers and I lose a lot of clarity. That said, I like it enough that I'm going to buy a line selector pedal just so I can keep it and use other pedals that might suck tone in the future.

    Very Experimantal Friendly

    By Hot blue strat

Though it does sound a bit hard or dry being that it's digital not analogue it's hardly noticable unless you really compare side by side with a high quality analogue. It's awesome, so many different speeds, too much too choose from, quality built as all bosses are, the recording is the only thing that is not so great, it's ok, it's like a last minute gadget they added just to stand out, it has it's uses if you want to put two rythms together or leads or solos over a VERY short and basic rythm. But The delay sounds awesome on clean and distorted, it's just amazing, you can have so much fun with it and it doesn't add any hum and keeps your sound very clean. You'll definitly not regret the purchase, i got it and was not to savvy with it at first, now i know it inside out and i figured out just how amazing it is.

    Incredible Delay

This pedal is amazing. I've had it for about a month and a half and I'm still impressed with what it can do. The sound is just great! Best dealy I've ever heard. The controls allow you to dial in whatever kind of delay you need instantly, and the variety of modes is great. If you have 2 amps or speakers you can get really cool ping-pong and stereo delay effects. The HOLD function is also handy, allowing for 5.2 seconds of looping with as many tracks as you want (I've made it past 20). The reverse mode is fun to play around with, and so is the warp function. This pedal is one of the best things I've ever bought. Just one tip: don't leave it out in the sun. I left my window open one day and it turned a nasty off-white/yellow...

    A must have.

    By Mike-ijXAo

Awesome Delay, I've owned it for about a year now. My favorite thing about it is it's quality, not only physically, its built like a tank, but also just the way it sounds, i've pumped all sorts of different sounds and effects through it, with the pedal itself on some pretty radical settings just so see how far I could push it and it held up great. The reverse delay is cool, I don't really use the tap mode but sometimes I use it as a reverb, or just to add a nice glossy blues sound. If I could only have one pedal in my lineup it would be this one (i use tube distortion).

    buying my second one now...

I sold my first one, thinking I needed a boutique pedal. Have gone through two rack systems and three other pedals, just to sell them all in disgust, and buy another DD6. Don't believe the hype some people will shovel your way - tube delays, rack systems, and expensive boutique pedals are no match for the clean, quiet and superb delay/echo you get from the DD6.
