Budda

The choice amp for players who want over-the-top distortion in a compact package.

Eighteen tube-generated Class A/B watts for serious sustain even at low volume. A pair of EL84s and a 5U4 rectifier tube are the guts of this hi-gain, channel-switching combo. From the darker tones of a vintage Plexi to the compressed sweetness of an AC30, this amp covers all the tonal bases.

The Superdrive features speaker cable wiring by Monster Cable. Monster Cable uses Time Correct Windings and advanced cable construction to deliver an accurate signal with deeper bass and wider dynamic range in high performance sound reinforcement applications. Budda has never sounded better.

Big Sound in a lightweight package!

Features:

For me it has all the features I need.

Quality:

The Budda has a great soung of it's own...kinda Marshall -like and unbelievble presence and punch.

You won't believe it's 15 watt rating....sounds more like 30-40 really.I haven't been able to turn the master up past nine 'o clock yet at a club gig without someone telling me to turn down.I installed a Weber beam blocker on it to tame it a bit.I've played a Paul and several different Strats through it and it works well with all.My tip for getting even more gain out of it with a Strat is to use a FulltoneOCD pedal...works great at the right setting. The Buddas don't have an outragous amount of gain. With a Paul or the like it snarls and crunches real good.

Value:

Gave it an 8 on value because it is expensive new.I got mine used at a very good price.

Overall:

Overall great.....the only reason I gave it a 9 on this is because of it's price-point.It would be nice if they at least would include a cover with their amps, but they don't.

Budda makes great quality amplifiers, and this is no exception. Flawless craftsmanship, very sturdy build and exceedingly proficient construction. This is why I gave this amp a 5.0 on quality, for the physical presentation and build quality of this amplifier is second-to-none, as is to be expected with something of boutique-calibre. The sound of this amplifier is and the the lay-out of the controls is great. With the straight-forward EQ settings, it is very easy to dial in a variety of tones. The Superdrive is capable of producing a very clear and articulate clean tone, that's almost Fender-ish in character. However, this amplifier was built for rock players, so driving the tubes is what this is meant for. It has a very unique gain character: when pushed, it has a very clear and punchy overdrive that really cuts, but it isn't so compressed that it sounds like outright distortion. I cannot compare it any other type of gain sound on the market currently, as it is that unique. There is a lot of gain you can get from this combo, but there's also a decent amount of headroom. It accepts pedals wonderfully, especially when they're run in front of the amplifier. I'd recommend this to anyone seasoned tone buff. A wonderful amplifier that does rock to a tee!

I've been playing for over 20 years. Played thru lots of different rigs and this amp blows me and everyone who hears it away. It will get "very near" fender Clean to Brit crunch to "very near" mesa recto. If you really must have Fender clean,  or Mesa recto tone - go get one, but it will obviously cost you alot more than buying this one amp. Bottom line amazing tonal pallette.  I do miss reverb in live situation but throw in a pedal and problem solved. Yes, this amp can play at bedroom frendly volume or shake the walls and foundation. It does cut thru the mix as my band mates will attest. Like it says these are 18 Budda watts and they are an mazingly loud 18 watts. This is very small club friendly amp, mics well live or in studio and is pedal friendly. My only negative is that the knobs can be slippery as some of the functions can only be accessed via push/pull. Footswitch only changes channels but good luck finding an 15- 18W multi channel amp that can come close to competing with this. I have the combo version, and yes it is a little dark,  but I slap a 1x12 celestion open back extension and this mini stack setup will take anything head on. Kudo's to the Budda boys.

Awesome Amp for Home or Gig

The clean channel is beautiful to Santana-ish, the dirty channel does Marshall to Soldano, and this thing is LOUDER than my Soldano HR 50+.  A warm amp that can cover most genres.  In retrospect, I would have the head instead, so that I could mate it with the cab of my choice.  The combo format is ok, somewhat muddy/middy, and can rattle the tubes.

This is an awesome amp. The first thing I noticed is that it is realtively light weight for it's size which is great for loading in and out. The tones it can achieve are amazing and the sustain is endless.
