Beautiful clean massive distorted tone

By guit40

Comments about Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head:

I played a lot of different amps in my career, Fender, Marshall, Boogies, and they all have there charms. Since I play a wide variety of music I would use different amps or pedals for each. I love cleans to crisp and clean to mild break up for country and jazz blues, and the drive to be anywhere from mild to heavy for rock, and fusion, medal etc. I like the drive to be tight and crunchy on the low end but smooth and violin like on the top end.( no bee in the tin can sound for this guy). From chicken pickin to full on medal and lots in between this head does it all very very well. The tone is just huge. I tried one, bought one and can use this amp live or in the studio for almost if not all situations.

Great Amp!

Comments about Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head:

I played this amp a few days ago. It blew me away! I definately wasn't expecting the drive channel to sound so sweet. I love metal, so I can't get quite as much gain as I'd like from most "vintage" styled amplifiers, but this rocked hard. I would like a little more, but the clarity dominated. Tone like that is hard to find. I might think about buying one soon! Also, wattage is a unit of power, not volume. Even though it's only puts out 80 watts, it's freakin' loud. The 45 watt model is plenty loud for most gigs.

Awesome amp

Comments about Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head:

I just recently bought and sold over 25 amplifiers that included Bogners, Diezels, Marshalls, Boogies, VHT's, Dr. Z, you name it, but this is the first amp that simply floored me. Just an amazing chimey clean, and a high gain sound that retains clarity in complex chording. This amp can easily cover every style of music with proper eq-ing. The eq works insanely!

I've been on tour with this amp for a year now, and night after night it sounds amazing. Not too many features, just a nice thick sound from the second you plug in.If you're looking for a reliable amp that always sounds great.... here it is.

amazing

Comments about Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head:

This amp is the holy grail of amplifiers. Anyone who has played one knows this. 80 watts of tube power is more than enough anyway and if matched up with the budda half stack it will blow you away. the budda speakers have a Sound Pressure Level of 100db so this amp is actually much louder than people think (a -3db in SPL causes the need of twice the power to be just as loud). Just thought that i would clear up the issue with the cheap bass amp (with 120 watts and spl of 95) being louder than this. You do the math then go out and play one of these amps.

Nice

Comments about Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head:

Alright... everyone complains about the 80w... well 80 watts is more than enough to be one loud mother at a rock concert. Ive used this amp at a gig with my band 3 times and my band mates complain of it being too loud... Also the tonal quality of this amp is next to none. You wont find a better amp until u look at mesa boogies.

Simply Amazing

Comments about Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head:

To all the people who complain about the 80w power need to learn a thing or two. 80w of tube power is more than enough to blow the clothes off of a woman. I have played this head before and the tonal quality sustains through all of the volume settings and it's pure tones are so sweet.

Huge sound, boutique tone

By Anonymous

Comments about Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head:

The previous best 2 channel head, the Bogner Shiva, has been replaced by this giant of an amp. Monster clean sounds ... just big and full and perfect for rhythm that drives. The gain channel goes from foaming a bit to all out pummel ... but not a mushy metal head. This beauty is all about tone and articulation.

Will blow you away.

This amp is insane!!! 80 watts of pure tube power is more than enough to get what you need. If adjusted right you can get just about any sound you want. If you don't like this amp you must be playing it through the wrong cabinet.
