OVERVIEW

Take your tone anywhere from dignified blues to garage-leveling madness.

The stunning Bugera V22 1x12 Tube Combo Amp not only exudes unbelievable sound, but this 22W amplifier also possesses modern flourishes capable of taking it to any corner of the musical landscape. Perfect for practice, home recording, or small club gigs, the Bugera V22 is a loud lad that channels its mojo from 2 EL84 power tubes. These give it the bratty, breakup-prone power amp compression-especially in the its triode mode-its 6L6GC-equipped siblings can only achieve at high volumes.

The Bugera V22 gives you everything that antique amps deliver-without the bloated price tags. Don't be fooled, though; the V22 tube amp packs a special feature that makes it much more than a tribute to the early days of guitar amplification. To explain, we must take a quick step back in time . . .

Before greasy juvenile delinquents hijacked the blues, guitar amps generally came in 2 species: those with triode (having 3 active electrodes) power valves and those with pentode (containing 5 active electrodes) power tubes. Triode valves, which came before pentodes, provide what a lot of guitarists describe as a "gentler" tone. Pentodes, on the other hand, are decidedly more "in-your-face." The Bugera V22 combo is built for power pentode tubes, but that doesn't mean you have to settle for a singular pentode personality. This Bugera amp includes a Mode switch for you to operate the power section as if it had triode tubes-at roughly 40 percent less power. So what'll it be today-old-school or oldest-school?

The sound of the Bugera V22 tube combo begins with a 2-channel (Clean and Lead) preamp. Plug into either the Bright or Normal inputs, then adjust the 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) and Presence control to create a sound all your own. Its 3 12AX7 preamp tubes provide the V22 amp with a feast of fuzz. The dual EL84 valves in the power stage propel its terse cockney tone through a Bugera 12" speaker.

If you need to feed more speakers, the V22 amp's Impedance switch adjusts it to 4, 8 or 16 Ohms-which gives it compatibility with just about any speaker cabinet you can find. You also get reverb, but for utmost durability and sound, this classic effect is derived from a professional quality digital processor. The spring reverb found in antique amps sounded great, but they're delicate and expensive to repair. This modern touch on the V22 gives you a vintage sounding reverb sound that's every bit as beautiful, but a million times less breakable. And if all these features weren't enough, you also get an incredibly durable footswitch to select channels and engage the reverb without stopping mid-show.

Whether you're making a record, practicing, or paying your dues on the dive bar circuit, the Bugera V22 Tube Combo Amp complements your guitar-craft with the gold-standard tones of the past-today!

I've been playing guitar for over 25 years, mostly just as a hobbyist, but also as a paid musician, and in the studio. I've owned or used most of the big name amps, and a few boutique tube amps. This amp is a perfect bridge between the two, for those on a budget or for those just looking for 'the sound'. I play jam band music (Dead, Phish) and rock. I own a fat Strat and an Ibanez AS73 (hollowbody with humbuckers). This amp handles both effortlessly. I compared this side by side with an AC30, and I preferred the warmth that the Brugera has. The AC30 seems brittle in comparison.

The pro's:
-Clear, punchy cleans.
-Rich distortions-even at low levels. Humbuckers absolutely sing
-Effects loop with very little to no signal loss-just leave a pedal on in the chain
-Responsive EQ-I can get very close to the 70's Garcia tone, for example
-Good quality parts-speaker sounds great after breaking in, tubes are nice and warm. Solid footswitch.
-Good volume for practicing-you don't need to crank it.
-Surprisingly decent digital reverb-works for me
-Its loud-plently loud for a small/medium venue. It mic's well too.
-Output for a 2x12, which I'll be buying soon.
-It works well with effects. I'm running a pedalboard with a JHS Little Black Buffer>Qtron+(with a Boss OC3 in the loop)>Boss MO-2>TurboRat>MXR Eq>Volume
In the amp fx loop: Ibanez PT9 Phase>TC Spark Mini>EHX Memory Toy Analog Delay
-The price.
-The price. Seriously...you won't find this quality for this price anywhere else.

I may buy another for backup or for a stereo rig. I'll have two amps and a 2x12 cab for less than the price of a Twin Reverb.

Conclusion? Buy one. You'll love it. It doesn't have the 'name brand', but it does have the quality.

I play a vintage Tele a Deluxe Strat, a Gibson SG and an Ibanez Artcore, this amp doesn't do any of them a dis-service. At band volume it's clear and cuts really well through the mix and at quieter volumes has a really nice creamy warmth in the triode mode. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any player and in my opinion it just may be the best recording amp to come down the pipe in a long time. I've owned Fender, Traynor and Mesa amplification and this stands alongside all of those.
What more could you ask, the reverb is excellent and has amazing depth, the clean channel is sparkly with no harsh and when you kick this little jewel into the gain/lead channels it compresses, growls and crunches with the best of them.
So far so good in the 7 months I've had it, whether at a practice, gig or just fooling around it's never had a breakdown which seems to be the common complaint for Bugera/Behringer. The controls are sensitive enough that you can really hear the difference between a 3 and 4 or a 8 or 9 setting
Once the word gets out, they'll sky-rocket in price which is always sad, I can hardly wait for the Magician to make it into the market. 85 watts of crazy and I'm going to own one as soon as they're available

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Been playing 40 years, have tried fender, traynor, this little amp for the money is a steal, beautiful tone, lots ot vintage vibe, love the smooth mid and low end, the lead channel is great with lots of dirt if that's where you want to go. The reverb pedal is metal, not some cheesy plastic wannabee, for the price range, I would go there again, no worries, great little amp.. Fellow musicians have also complemented on it's tone

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

great little amp for the price point... I use the effects loop for my chorus, tremolo, and delay and it sound sounds great on the clean channel but the effects seemed to get buried a bit when I used the lead channel. However, the lead channel sounds excellent on its own. Overall and so far, I am not disappointed with this purchase.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought a used Bugera V22. Can't believe how good it is. It has the same tube complement as my Vox AC15, but, because of its design, has more tonal options. Controls are on the front panel, unlike the Vox's on top where they're harder to get to. An extremely versatile, powerful amp. The only pedal that I might use with it would be a little compression to enhance the sustain. Built in China, just like the Vox. Who cares, when it sounds this good and at this price?

I waited 2 monyhs because it was on backorder. After reading many reviews I thought I would give it a try. For the price it sounded too good to be true andn it was. Compaired to my Fender Super-Sonic which is also 22 watts the sound was very week. I played it at a small Blues club and ahd to turen the volume and master up to ten to be heard with another guitar player. My 15 watt Blues Jr is much louder. The Bugera has a very treble sound and not in a good way. It sound much like a solid state amp. I will stick with Fender amps from now on. The Bugera is going back to MF.

I still can't believe the sound you get for the money! The clean channel gives the classic tube sound but the distortion is alot more crunchy than most tube amps.

          Warm round brown sound period. The EQ is very musical, the speaker sounds great, retro look is cool. You can read about a musical purchase forever but you cant get a feel for it ,so I was reluctant to mail order the box I get my tone from,but rest easy, this should say "Twin" on it somewhere! Or JCM something or other except it isnt nearly as noisy as that British M thingie {honestly , they sound great,but who can live with all that hiss?}Run, repeat, Run to the phone and order this before the price doubles (to match anything else this good }

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Got this amp cause of good stuff I heard on you tube. This amp says 22 watts but more like 80 watts on stage. I have a egnater speaker cab 112 that matches it. I will use it as a stack amp like and the great sound it has I tried out at a friends house and wow it sounds great and killer the reverb is awesome this is like a fender sound. I mainly want it 4 jazz but if I have to use it 4 blues rock and that okay it is handy but since I play Latin Jazz it will serve my purpose there this amp it a hot selling Item all stores even guitar center were out but got one that is a good thing about that I have a valve king 112 but it need a look at but plays great and will use it as back up 4 the time i get it fixed. The amp sounds great 4 the price every place has the 379.99 price and not bad 4 the money I spent 4 it I traded 2 solid states 4 it. They were 2 heavy. I had casters on them. But they were back breakers. this amp it good on me and happy 4 selecting it.It has a warm sound and that. Tubes r warmer than solid state and were 1st b-4 solid state 2.I say guys get one it is killing and killer sound. the stock speaker is awesome and the controls 2 a sturdy foot switch and all worth it try it if u liker it get 1 i did

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

All that I can say is, "WOW!!!" This has got to be the BEST deal on a tube amp that I have ever seen! I watched a ton of videos on the internet about this amp and was very impressed. The videos that I watched DO NOT do this thing justice! You can dial up anything from a Fender shimmering, clean tone to a totally BALLZY, thick distortion tone. The low end is incredible! I am using a Joyo Vintage Overdrive pedal in front of it on the clean channel and that just adds more tones to this OUTSTANDING amp! The Gain channel is so good on it's own that I don't even use the pedal on the dirty channel. It has 2 inputs for your guitar and I suggest using the NORMAL input for both humbucker and single coils. The BRIGHT channel is suggested for humbucker guitars, but I think that the NORMAL just sounds better for classic rock. The looks of the amp are a totally different issue. This amp is a real looker and built tough! I can't even put into words the true way that I feel about this amp. Just go buy it!!!

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I had played a Bugera V22 in the local music store. I fell in love with the tone of the amp. When my band mates decided to go to in ear monitors, I knew my 40 watt fender was just too loud for what we were wanting to do. I purchased this on a whim and I am very glad I did. I have a $1049 fender 65 deluxe reverb and this stays right with it. It has more features than the 65 DRR such as channel switching, master volume control, presence control and a mid control. These allow you to create a variety of sounds. This amp is 22 watts, the same as the DRR, but, uses EL 84s instead of 6V6s. Overall an incredible sound. Built good, chassis is nicely configured. I can't comment on durability as I just got mine, however I am seeing them being used in many of the local acts here in town. Bottom line, if you want a deluxe reverb sound but can't afford one try the Bugera V22. You'll be glad you did!
