The Carl Martin DeLayla XL Delay Pedal was designed and developed to have the same sonic quality as the original DeLayla and adds a second delay head for the ultimate in vintage slapback echo. The response of the second head can be fine-tuned, is controllable by footswitch, and can be blended with the first head. The Carl Martin DeLayla delivers warm, smooth delay and echo reminiscent of vintage tape units, but with modern features. The Delayla XL has a tap tempo and a built-in power supply.

I bought a DeLayla because I went through a phase where I wanted effects with an integrated power supply. This is a digital delay effect that I don't think lives up to its analog counterparts. For the price I paid for this effect, it should have a warble/modulation control to give it that ethereal Eric Johnson style of echo. Also, the chicken-head pots need more dampening or fixed stops because they are much too easy to change inadvertantly. The case is pretty nice and the buttons have a good feel. But like other Carl MArtin effects in my opion, the tone is pretty sterile sounding. I use other cheaper delay effects with much better results.
