Carl Martin

An analog 'two-in-one" effect pedal!

It consists of a tremolo and a real vibrato, both with independent sets of speed and depth controls. The tremolo effect works like a change in volume; the vibrato works as a change in tone (pitch modulation) and is carefully designed to imitate the sound of a real tube vibrato. Features 2 switches: on/off and select. Has a built-in regulated power supply.

Great sound, too noisy

Comments about Carl Martin Trem o Vibe Pedal:

Alone thise pedal sounds great, but when put in line with other pedals it produced a "ticking" noise. I tried the pedals in every order possible but could not rid the ticking. Bummer because I really like the overall sound of the pedal. Sold it...
Easy to use, logically laid out.
" like a tank..."
A bit overpriced to my liking as I've seen dual pedals at roughly half the price of this one.

A Bit Too Noisy for Me

Comments about Carl Martin Trem o Vibe Pedal:

I read some good reviews on this pedal in various forums, so I decided to try it.The vibrato section sounds good, kind of like the solo guitar on Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game". The vibrato effect also allows you to not perform vibrato with your fingering, thus saving a bit of technique. Vibrato has good range and depth. However, I found the Tremolo section of this pedal extremely disappointing. The noise level was too high for me. It is a pink noise type of windy sound in the upper guitar range. I tried to dial it out by using my guitar tone, but it exists even with no guitar plugged into the pedal. I tried to dial it out with the amplifier tone, but that just cut out half my tone. I tried this pedal on 3 amps, and all had the pink noise helicopter.Unfortunately my quest for a good off-amp tremolo continues. The more you depth you dial into the Tremolo amplifies the noise into a noticeable helicopter sound. All Tremolos have this effect, but you must have a low noise effect to keep this under control. My Vox AC 15 tremolo is much more silent than this pedal. At first I thought it was interaction with other power supplies, but even putting this effect on its own filtered AC outlet did not cut the noise.
