Well, this amp is a huge improvement from my last junker. It has way better high and low ends. I LOVE the buildt in tuner. Very handy. Lots of volume too, although there is some buzz when you turn it up. Overall I am very glad I bought this amp. Great deal.
I recently purchased the Crate BT25 and i was shocked! I needed something small but yet packed a pucnh for my dorm room. This amp has a great clean channel and a surprisingly great dirty. I use a Peavey MAX450 head and Peavey 700watt cab as my usual rig but this is such a great practice amp. My hunt for a good practice amp is over and at such a great price!
I gave the features an 8 because the distortion channel is lacking an equalizer, but overall it is a very good bass amp and is "punchy"It's also at a good price for beginning bass players. The built-in tuner is a nice feature.
My band just got our first real gigs, so I needed something that had some power. I see this 25W Crate amp and decide to give it a try..... WOW!! Its punchy, strong, and has a built in tuner? Yep. The distortion on the thing isn't the best, but it changes things up; the octave is actually pretty good; and the tuner rocks. My only complaint ( the 9 on the quality) is that when you turn the amp up loud, like above 6/70 it does start to give some fuzz sound, but its nothing compared to other combo amps in the price range. If you're looking for a great amp at an amazing price....... get THIS!!!
Well, wrote this review 2 months ago, here goes again. I like this amp, it has built in tuner on the top, dirty/dist. Channel, clean channel, octaver that intensifies the low end of the bass sound. Heavy duty speaker grill could take a kid on a tricycle head ON! Carpeted cab is a nice touch. This thing is HUGE for a 25 watt.
These 25Watt amplifiers are great!! They have everything you could need. Distortion, clean, octave, it's like 3 pedals in 1!! I love that there's a tuner built into it too! They're just the perfect size and aren't too heavy. About 45 pounds.
In simple this,Crate BT-25 Bass Amp, is an awesome bass amp. It is very durable, I've dropped it alot on accident. It has a very versitale and great tone. It's also got some pretty cool effects, yet there aren't any pedals included. This is a great amp for practice, but it wouldn't cut it even in a small venue.
Very good little amp. Lots of tone the whole way up the volume knob. Rear porting is very good. Only problem I had with this amp is that the side of it was slightly loose (the actual carpet covered wood was loose). I just pounded it back on and hope for the best. If things get worse I will nail it/wood glue it back on. I'm sure that it was caused by shipping. Either way, excellent value and tone.
This is an awesome amp! I have had it for a little over a year so I know it's ups and downs.Ups-it's VERY very durable. I have carried this thing(with some strain might i add) across my subdivision in the texas heat and the houston humidity and it still plays FANTASTIC. Not to mention that I got it used! I have very great use for the distortion I use it alot. The tone on this thing is great. Downs- this is probably just with my amp, but the distortion seems to have a gate on it and there for if I'm not playing loudly or hard, then it will stop the signal. Like I said this is probably just my amp. The other bad thing is that it's heavy. But that's very good for the tone. It gives it a nice warm tone when the settings are adjusted right. Now more good stuff about it- this amp is LOUD! I have never brought it past five on the main volume with the level on 4 because that was like super loud and it was shaking the ground. The level really gives it a good boost it's a great feature. The octave also gives it a great boost. Now one more important thing. I recently tried hooking this cd player/karaoke machine in it that has 2 quarter inch outputs. It plugged right into the cd jack and I plugged my guitar into that instead of the input on the amp. Let me tell you, I got the most amazing tone to come out of this amp! it was incredible! and the best part was that I can plug a mic in at the same time AND play and sing along with my cd's! it is so awesome. I just got so fortunate with this amp it's worked out great for me. BUY IT!
I got this amp figuring it would be a step up from my clunky 30 watt, it was all that and more. First of all, the eq provides you with endless possibilities, no matter what style you play. The distortion is really varied; it lets you go from sounding like Lemmy in "Ace of Spades" to Troy Sanders in "Iron Tusk". The octavizer adds a great rummbling undertone, esspecially if you have the distortion on! The volume of this thing is incredible, shakes your ribs like mad. This amp is too good!
got this last week, very good punch, tone is pretty kickin!, only thing that kinda blows is the distortion, it goes in and out very easy, but im sure you'll get better luck getting yours,a lot bigger than i thought when it came, which was nice, overall must get!, price is sweet..
Very good beginner's amp. Small and light--very easy to tote around. Overall nice sound and quality. Overall I was very impressed.
This amp rocks. i play at home, usually in the very corner, and this thing shakes stuff off the walls at the other corner. It is great at high volumes. It has a very tight speaker lining to allow you to CRANK IT UP!!! It works very well when you put the back 3 inches away from the wall. It makes the house a huge speaker. overall great amp.
I Play Hawaiian blues and this is ok with little amplified ukes and guitars. the tuner feature is really nice, I just wish it had a little more bottom none-the-less. For home, it's perfect. I'm tired of carrying big cabinets and heads. Most places have decent mics now a days so I'll just mic in. As far as the brand, it's not the best. Go buy a Gallien-Kruger or SWR if you want high-end, but remember it's just a practice amp. I'll most likey try a few gigs with it.
This is thing is so awesome. The distortion is pretty cool, and the built in tuner comes in handy. There's a little bit of buzzing but not too much. The only thing that pissed me off was that I didn't get my free gift. This is probably the best combo amp for the money.
This is a great amp for the tone. The sound is awsome and the EQ and other effects are sick. However if you plan to be playing with drums and one or more guitarists it's not so good. It is not powerful enough or loud enough to be truly heard by others. Usually I have it 3 ft. from the drummer & facing him and he still can't hear it.
I love this amp. If you want an amp to, as it says, practice with acoutics it's great. If you want to play with a drummer, just place it high enough and the sound is great for 25 watt.I am going down the road to a Synth-Bass player for my love of bands like Orgy and such who have the famous guitarist/synth guitarist...Amir Derakh...So this thing is amazing. If you want an equal deal buy a cheaper amp with a couple of pedals...Because this thing matches it nicely.
This Crate amp is amazing. If you like practicing in your room, buy this amp! My favorite feature is its distortion channel. I only play my bass with distortion cuz I love the hard tone that I get out of it.
