I had a chance to play this thing, and the tone is from heaven. Thats no joke either, I played this next to marshall, mesa, budda, you name it. This blows them out of the water. If you think about the price, its actually not bad at all for the stuff this thing houses. When all 16 of these tubes start cookin you'll be lovin it. Three channels for clean, crunch, and solo...this thing is perfect. Highly recommended to anyone. You can seriously get any kind of tone you want out of this thing, It kills.
I will never use the power in this amp. I use it for guitar and bass with 4-12 and 2-15 cabs. It is like having a 1000 horsepower car. Don't really need it but it is baddass. Coolest, best sounding guitar or bass amp I have ever had.
this amp is the best overall amp u can get!if u want a marshall and mesa boogie all in one this is your amp!
This amp is super loud, and can destroy many marshall and mesa amps without even trying! Its massive tube sound is one of the best I've ever heard. It's got tons of thundering bass, tight massive mids and a heaping helping of treble. This puppy can play it clean and clear for jazz and acoustic songs, it can slap some soulful heavy tones into rhythm and blues, and it will be a massive nuclear explosion for hard rock and heavy metal. This amp does it all, but the price tag may kick your @$$ a little bit. But if i had the $, I'd take this over a marshall jcm or a mesa boogie rectifier any day! It's got more tone, and more watts than the other 'big boys.' I'd be using pedals through it though, because truth be told, distortion pedals are always going to be better than the overdrive on any amp, period! They add to your eq band too.
I had played in tons of concerts and when I had the opportunity to use one of this babes, I just coudn't believe my ears!! If you are into metal and you wanna make your axe sound like you have always dreamed, save some money and get it NOW, cause it's worth EVERY PENNY!!
Man, I can't believe how many tubes are in this sucker. It's great (tons of features), but there so many things that could go wrong with it. It's good they offer a 5 year warranty otherwise I'd buy something else.
I am a lead guitar player and this amp kicks butt big time. I play a 1960 reissue Gibson Les Paul Classic. this amp has excellent tone for both clean and dirty sounds, and it is extremely loud. I use a boss chorus and a boss digital delay for effects. No need for a distortion pedal with an all tube head. This by far is the best amp I've ever owned.
I purchased this amp as my first head. I was deciding between a lot of different companies but found this amp to be a lot more diverse than others. The amp does really have a lot of headroom as described and can play lower tunings more clearly. I play with drop A tuning, and many other amps were unable to put out the sound without sounding like celophane was wrapped on the speakers. I think this amplifier is a good choice becaue it has 5 position swithes that enable you to create a variety of tones without using some cheesy effects or terrible reverb. As long as you are patient with finding out what configuration sounds best, there should be no trouble whatsoever.
Loads of features, great tone, and as loud as hell! I managed to get it for 959 but without 5 year warranty. However, I have discovered that it uses the same valves as Mesa Boogie, which are easily attainable and not too expensive - so if anything goes wrong I wont have too many problems sorting it out.
this amp is so heavy, but it has a heavy sound, too, and the ability to adjust your mid frequency on each channel is bada**. just scoop the mids on channel 3 and boost the bass/treble and this thing growls. sounds better than my friend's dual rectifier, i'm completely satisfied.
