I just got this cab along with the GTX3500H crate head and they both sound amazing. the cab says up to 240 watts and id beleive it but otherwise you can keep at at 120 watts for clearer sounds.its very durable with a cold steel grill and a chrome crate symbol. Its not a lil kid either, it a full size cab so make room.
This cab has a really midrange beefy tone. It doesn't have very much low end. but the mids and highs come through very good. I use a BV150H head and it starts to sound muddy at about 3/4 volume. overall its a good cab for the price.
Really good when craving those loud tones, but lacks a little clarity at high volumes....Distortion sounds really good on it, but it natually brings out more highs than lows at full volume...
Most people who write about speaker cabs talk about highs and lows like the speakers can control that entirely. Well, I have owned MESA cabs, Marshall cabs, Fenders cabs, and Crate. I will have to say that Crate is by far the best for the overall tone that i am seeking. It has the ability to scream and to thrash and not get blown out easily. Remember, YOUR AMP controls your tone. Not your sepakers. The speakers are simply for the clarity of that tone. My rig is 2 Mesa 50/50's with 4- 4x12 crate cabs. It is an amazingly clean sound and I am a metal head. SO I want thrash distortion and also the clean sustains when playing around for fun.
