Functionally identical to the CA30D — which has been the best-selling Crate acoustic amp for the past several years — the Crate CA30DG Taos Acoustic Amp has a larger cabinet for enhanced bottom end, a top mount handle,Àand top mount controls.
The CA30DG features 30W, a Crate 8" high-fidelity speaker, special-design tweeter, and award-winning onboard digital signal processing including a variety of reverb, delay, chorus, and multiple effects settings. 2 channels allow for instrument input and your option of vocals or an auxiliary source like a CD player or another instrument. The Crate CA30DG also includes 3-band EQ, 1/4" line out, slant-front cabinet, and an effects loop for mixing in external effects.
CA series amps feature Evergreen Tolex covering and earthtone metal grilles for the best in quality design with organic aesthetics. I went into a guitar shop with the intention of buying a hybrid guitar similar to the Taylor T5 that's made by a Korean company named Crafter. I plugged into this amp and the guitar sounded amazing, very much a great acoustic tone. I ended up walking out with the guitar thinking it would sound decent on one of my amps. I plugged it into my Mesa Boogie F50, Line 6 Spider Jam and my Roland Micro Cube. All of which are amps that I love playing through on my Fenders and Les Pauls. However, none could recreate the acoustic sound this Crate did at the music store.I thought I could get away with not having to buy an acoustic amp, but I was wrong. This amp makes a huge difference and the value is excellent. I ended up going back to the store and buying one the next day. Great sound, great bang for the buck. You won't be disappointed.

I was unimpressed with amps twice its price. Basically,I tried this amp out of desperation!I was blown away. the amplification is crisp andunclored by the amp! My guitar sounds so full! The Digital effects are no better or worse than any other digital effect but offer just enough ambience to give you a full sound. I can't find anything that sounds even equal without spending 4 times as much!

This amp main attribute is it's sound quality. I bought it because I tried one out at a friends house along with his Breedlove Atlas guitar with the Fishman in it and fell in love with the rich sound. And this thing can get loud too. I just wish the controls where up front where you could see and get to them, almost kissed the wall leaning over it trying to see the small letering for the effects. But all said and done it gets the job done at a reasonable price and sounds great. I would replace it with the same thing if something ever happened to it unless something better came along at about the same price. Also I like it because of the size and weight of it, It's well built, not too big and only weighs about 30 lbs. It also looks good. I've also used it with some pedals and played my Les Paul through it and it sounded pretty good with it too. It's lacking allot of features that some of the other brands have but you will pay for more for them too. For what I use it for "practice" it's all I need. Don't have any problem with feedback with my premium Fishman Pre-Fix and I use it sitting within 2 feet of me.

Excellent sound. Played against a Martin with 2 8" speakers, against a Trace Elliot and the new Bose tower amp and this little Crate blew them all away with its superb tone!

I do most of my playing at night at low volume, when the kids are asleep. The price was right for the features, etc. This amp was great with beautiful tone until I cranked up the volume one Saturday afternoon. The tone was degraded to the point of distraction. Also, I wanted effects on the guitar but clean mic channel. I bit the bullet and upgraded to the Marshall AS50R. I'm glad I did.

This is the first amp I have ever owned that was dedicated to being an acoustic guitar amp. I have owned Marshalls, Fenders, Vox, HiWatt, etc. for years but am in the process of "toning down". Actually, it's merely an attempt to get great sound out of my acoustic guitars for live gigs, and this little pup seems to do no wrong. Since it has a line out, once you've tailored the sound you want, you can send it direct to a board. The only serious limitations are the onboard effects and the contour controls - a little Acoustic Xciter pedal gives way more control in terms of sound tailoring. But what the hey - it doen't cost much, and looks great! Crate is aaa-ight!

Sounds for good for the money. The effects options are really good sounding but you can't combine or mix them I actually expected a bit more. But Sounds good for practice and small gigs.
