Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
Incredible depth and warmth from this "Trower-like" pedal
Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
I was looking for a reasonablely priced "Uni- Vibe" type effect, and I found it in the Danelectro "Cool Cat" Vibe. It has a thick, rich rotary type effect that I would put up against the most popular, and expensive effects of it's type on the market today. It has a heavy duty metal housing, and jacks as well as being true bypass. It's a solid unit that sounds awesome, and costs less than the others. What more can you ask for? Don't be afraid of the Danelectro "Cool Cat" line of effects. Well, the CV-1 anyway. It's a 10 out of 10!
Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
Like so many others, I purchased this pedal as an inexpensive alternative to high-priced vibrato effects. This pedal does exactly what it is intended for, whether it be a subtle swirl or an insane, almost unusable swoosh effect. If you use A/C power, which you should, the A/C connector has to fight for a spot to rest, but it is manageable. Mix, speed, and intensity knobs give you great control over the effect, and the pedal is very tough. As many have pointed out, the downsides to this pedal are: a very large, immediate volume boost when the effect is engaged (I can turn the volume on my Strat from 10 down to about 2 to compensate); and, there is a noticeable delay from the time the switch is engaged to the time that the effect is actually heard. With this in mind, I still own the pedal and still use it regularly, although if something happened to this one I can't say that I would replace it with another unless Dan'o comes out with a 2nd Gen Vibe that wipes out these problems.
Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
I got this pedal about two months ago and I love it. I play mostly rhythm guitar and sing so I've found that this pedal is perfect for adding some great, trippy, vintage sounds to some songs. It sounds great with lead guitar licks, as well as with chords, which is what I mostly use it for. Its very versatile and it can get any sort of sounds from very subtile vibrato to super ambient trippy sounds. It has killer tone and it really is true bypass. The metal casing and jacks are well constructed and durable. The only thing I can complain about with this pedal is the fact it gets crowded in the back when you have two jacks and an adaptor pugged in, but it is manageable and it is not a reason not to buy this pedal. This is kind of pointless, but the color is really cool as well. Overall, it can't be beat for thse price and it is a great pedal.
Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
Love this new pedal. I had always wanted a univibe but found they were way too expensive for me. From what I can tell, the CV-1 sounds as good as those other units and is much more affordable (under $60.00). Go grab this pedal and channel your inner Hendrix and Trower. Highly recommended.
Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
The Cool can vibe consists of an intensity, speed and mix control. The Mix control is somewhat ambiguous, but the speed and intensity allow the user to dial up some real warmth and wave modulation into the signal. This vibe actual works and you can hear the various textures. I found it was quiet and had no pulses or hums, like other American made vibes. But this product is made in China, like all the Cool Cats. I use it with the Fab Echo, which really opens up the sound. I cannot get over the sound quality and cost ratio. The EHX Wiggler is almost 4 times the cost and it drains the tone from the rig and emits noise and pulse. The CC Vibe actually produces an aural wash that is effective. Use a power supply with the pedal. And place the pedal towards after a fuzz or overdrive, but in front of an echo or delay (Oh, remember the fab echo can be modded to be an inexpensive delay box). The mint green Vibe is pure accoustic vibratory extasy when coupled to a tube amp. I've packed the Wiggler back into it's dirty soiled box, I'll just keep it as a collectable, since it doesn't have the responsiveness of the Cool Cat. I don't know why American made products can't have this type of warmth and response? All the Danelectro CC's are effective, esspecially the Transparent OD, Fuzz and Vibe for psychodelic rock. The products do not alter the tone of the guitar and amp, such as the EHX products do. They are cost effective, and have metal enclosures. The only test left will be time? Will they last 10 to 29 years (like my 1980 MXR Dynacomp and Boss DS-1), who knows. But I'm impressed with the sounds of this Vibe, it is far more sound worthy than the Wiggler. Get it while it's 59 dollars, because I'm sure Mr. Inflation is watching and waiting to turn up the heat and raise the price. I can FEEL it.
Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
I must say that I was skeptical when I asked to try this one out at my local music store. Danelectro stuff always seems to be hit or miss. Turns out this one's a bullseye! I have never heard something sound this good for such a small amount of money. This thing sounds nearly identical to the original Uni-Vibe. It even has a light diode circuit just like the original. Did I mention it is completely true bypass? It is a tad louder than my other pedals, and it takes about 2 seconds to get going, but man does it sound accurate. Just play that first arpeggiated chord from the beginning of Pink Floyd's "Breathe" and you'll see what I mean. Put it in front of a fuzz, and you're on your way to Hendrixville. The only possible complaints are the "start-up time" and volume boost. Also, the "mix" knob is confusing and doesn't see to do a whole lot. Overall though, it sounds just as good as the original for a small fraction of the price.
Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CV-1 Vibe Guitar Effects Pedal:
The Vibe pedal is good, but it is a really loud pedal in my effects chain. I play it third from the end of a nine pedal chain: Digitech Tuner, Wah, Digitech Rock Distortion, DanElectro Transparent OD, DanElectro Echo, Digitech Delay, DanElectro Vibe, DanElectro Tremelo, Boss Loop Station, Then to a Krank "Krankenstein" head and cab. I have to turn the Mix down pretty low, otherwise the Vibe shoots the signal through the roof when it is turned on. I bought the pedal in a 3 pack. Even with this little issue the pedal sounds really good and is worth the money spent. I would suggest this pedal to a friend.

I couldn't wait to try the new Cool Cat line. I played this once in a local store and had to have it. It gives you a wide range of color for your sound. It is a great addition to my pedal board.Made of metal with a real good switch. check these out.
