These Fab pedals do exactly what they say. No complications, No learning curve, Just sound and a wholelotta fun!!!
Could not believe the sound from this little pedal! I have been playing many years and I now use 10" powered JBLs for both vocal and guitar. (I'm older and they're lighter.) I use an Alesis' mixer with T C Helicon Touch. I needed a slap back echo so I ordered the Dan Fab echo. I didn't want to be cheap so I through in a D-1. I mean come on for $!!!!! The slap back is great but with the D-1 It's a power house. The D-1 adds a boost, I use it before the Echo. I use very little Distortion but more for thicking the sound. Also they are nice and heavy, not cheap plastic as I thought. For beginners, or Pros. The AC adaptor is quiet and a must have. Enjoy and have fun!!
Seems good, time will tell..Treat things with care and they will last
Check out the price and shipping, No brainer.

Let me just start off by saying that you get what you paid for. This is a very inexpensive pedal, but there's always a catch.-FeaturesThe Features are adequate with level, tone, and distortion knobs. It's a simple stomp-and-play. When all three are turned up you get great metal sounds but that comes along with blistering feedback, and even when you switch to a pick that has the volume turned all the way down, you are still met with an annoying fuzz. The back wasn't that hard to unscrew to replace the battery, so that I was happy about.-QualityThe quality was decent. I bought it about four months ago and it still works perfectly fine. No scratches, dinks, dents, or blemishes of any kind. The only major-and this is a big major-downfall is that the battery is sucked up pretty quick, so be sure to buy an adapter because this pedal doesn't come with one (which I was disappointed to find out)-ValueAs I said before, you get what you pay for. For the price, the value is above average and the pedal works if you need a quick boost for a solo or lead riff, so I can't say it's all bad. But if I were you, I'd go the extra mile and get a different pedal.

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:
For the price, you cannot beat this distortion pedal. It took a beating underneath my heavy foot. Have to hand-adjust the gain until your clean and distortion volumes are the same, but once you've got that dialed in, it is good and reliable.

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:
Only the second distortion pedal I've owne, so can't compare it across the board. Really though for the price(I paid less than 15 incl shpng)there is not another one that comes close.
Admititly I don't have the best ear, but to my mind it sounds as good, or close to pedals I've heard, like the boss. I personally like the art deco look as well. That's the good.
The not as good. The housing is plastic and I wonder about it's ability to endure continual foot stompings. Would be a little afraid to gig with it for instance. Also the button is almost flush with the housing and more difficult to operate than a raised button.
Mine is raised up on a shelf and operated by hand. It is hooked to an amp in my practice room and never goes "on the road". In that capacity it has proved durable and the price allows me to own a seperate pedal that I can leave hooked up.

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:
If your are looking for an inexpensive distortion pedal that works well at its basic purpose this is a great choice. Simple to use. It's made out of plastic but it appears to be able to stand up to normal daily use. The price can not be beat. Great pedal for the cost.

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:
I got this pedal because I needed a distortion pedal, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one. This is a great distortion pedal, it gives me everything from a little grit to all-out high gain metal madness. If you need a distortion pedal and your on a budget, the Danelectro FAB distortion is the pedal for you.

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:
It's a solid distortion pedal for obtaining a good Led Zeppelin tone. I'd suggest turning the tone and level to full with just the slightest amount of gain to get that early Page type of tone. It isn't as good as a Marshall with everything on 10, but it'll do pretty well for a lot less money.
Very quiet with low gain.
Seems to sound terrible through a smaller amp, lots of background noise and poor tone... Put it through a larger amp and you'll be more impressed.

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:
It's the first time I've ever used a distortion pedal with my 12 string, and it sounds awesome. I hooked up my delay pedal in sync with it and all I could here was the smell of outright, raw rock. It was twisted. I would recomend this pedal to anyone that plays guitar. Beginner or professional. It really get's under your skin and make you sound awesome!!!!!

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:
This thing is great! I've had mine for a year and it still sounds just as good as the day I got it. It's great for players just starting out or even pros looking for a new sound. I played this with my ibanez straight through the PA system at my church and it sounded great. The only complaint that I have is that you go through a bettery a week. If you buy this pedal make sure you buy an AC adaptor if you don't want to waste your money buying batteries everyday. But other than that GREAT PEDAL and there's nothing better for someone on a budget. I would definately recommend this any day.
Held up great for the year I've had it. I've got no complaints
you can't get anything better for the price
