Okay, so I just got this pedal last week and hooked it up to my rig in all sorts of combinations. The phase effect was just slightly more shallow than say, an MXR. HOWEVER, there's an easy way to 'fix' that. (some people like a more subtle effect) You can open the back of the pedal where you put the battery in, look at the first PCB board and you'll find three little screws. Unscrew them and slip the board with the switch out of the way. Look on the corner of the second PCB and you'll find a "trim pot." It's a little screw on a white square. Now, find a tool to turn it with and hook it all up disassembled, rotate the screw to the right until just before it starts to cut out with the phase. (Use a slow phase to test) This GREATLY increases the phasing to MXR levels. Before the adjustment, it was a great vintage phase, now it's the best I own with a great price. Get it!

When I plugged this product into my guitar, immediately I could hear a local AM radio station. Hopefully this was an anomaly-surely Danelectro wouldn't let this get past quality control. All my other Danelectro products have been excellent pedals for the price .When I could ignore the AM noise, however, I could hear that the phaser effect seemed to work pretty well. But the radio interference was too much to overcome. Try it and, hopefully, your pedal will not have this problem.

Great sounding, easy to use and looks cool. I use mine with the Danelectro adapter(only 8 bucks) Its not over the top but is voiced a little less intense. I recommend it.

Excellent Phaser

This pedal offers everything you need in a phaser. The pepperoni can give you a sweet smooth accent all the way to a broken rotary sound. I have owned this pedal for four years and it still works perfectly. If you like ambience then this is for you. The sound really fills the room and can be a great accent to many songs. Atmosphere!

Beautiful Garbage

Got this sweetheart used. She is the ultimate in nastiness. The phase isn't very deep, and if you hit her with a strong signal, or a bassy tone, the cheap electronics turn your chords into a chunky fuzzed-phased mess.

Nice phaser

I bought this pedal because I wanted a phaser that was cheap. I had also wasted all my money on other pedals. When I bought this pedal I was not sure how it was going to work. I found out that it souds so much better when you put an ac adaptor in it. This little guy blew me away I couldn't stop using it, it's perfect for finger taping, solos and harmonics I would recomend this pedal to anyone

Horrible, the Boss phase is much better

By Pinkyman

This pedal is horrible. My uncle owns the Boss phaser and it is much better, because there are more settings on it than this one.

MUCH better than you'd expect!

I've owned my Pepperoni Phaser for about 2 months now, and I can honestly say I am soooo happy I bought this little thing! The knob feels abit flimsy, but it gives you that sweet trippy phaser sound, like on Pink Floyd's "Breathe", and it's completely silent, no extra noise - just cool smooth phaser tone. I've had NO problems whatsoever with my unit. It's got one knob - just tweak it to the speed you want and enjoy. I'll definately be purchasing more gear from Danelectro!

Meh...

By Azurepandapaw

from Buffalo, NY

I got this pedal with a set of four other Danelectro pedals, all which no longer work after one year. When they worked, they didn't sound bad, but once they stopped all you could get out of them is a weak buzz. It's not worth buying unless you only want to own a working pedal for a couple months. (They really eat up batteris too)

decent lo-fi phaser/impossible to screw up!

By carvinplayer

See all my reviews

I use this for a little texture in my setup, works pretty well for swoopy muted rhythm work. For leads it sounds very grainy and lo-fi. Not a lot of swoosh in the sound, but with just one knob you can't dial it anywhere that isn't useable.

Pepperoni is delicious

By Anonymous

I use it for the intros to my songs, and the response from other people was really exciting. You can do all sorts of kick-butt things with this pedal! I've had it for a year and a half now and I still play the hell out of it!

This is an outstanding pedal

When I first ordered this pedal I admit I had my doubts... I wasn't sure it would be as good as it is. This pedal knocked me out the minute I took it out. I plugged it into my Fender Mini Tone Master and it sounded great! Plus the Battery is included. My single complaint is that the phase is blurred when the sound is too distorted (but that may be my amp). This pedal is outstanding and i reccomend it for anyone!

It's ok for the price

By Sound_Sickness

I tried this pedal at a music store and it's a good sounding phaser pedal (especially if think the little buck you're paying for it), let's say is decent. It's the same for any Danelectro pedal: if you can't afford other pedals (EHX, MRX, Boss, Line6, Pro Co, etc.) Danelectro pedals are good enough for the price but if you can pay for better pedals please do!

This One Plays The Radio

By Timmy The Surf Drummer

from Pittsburgh,Pa.

See all my reviews

I received this pedal a few weeks ago. When I plugged it into my practice amp and guitar,I immediately began to hear my local AM radio station! Now,the phaser effect was working-but the radio station drowned it out. I hope that this is a very rare occurence, because all my other Danelectro pedals are great effects for the price. The phaser effects worked well and sounded decent-but mine played AM radio, and I could not get rid of the signal.

delicious peperoni

By Dr moe

from mexicali

I've initially decided to use it 'coz it was very affordable, the phaser was urgent to me, and I' couldn't pay a MXR phase 90, I had owned another danno pedals, and I thought that they are very decent, but when I used it, I was very pleased, 'coz it gives a sweet, vintage, clear, expressive and a wide range of sound. Unfortunately someone stole my peperoni, but some months later I bought another one, this time I could pay the MXR but I've decided to use the danelectro, I really love it, some people think ( as me few years ago), that these pedals are cheap and worthless, but they really weren't. I gave a 7 in features 'coz it has only knob ( but is enough, you can believe me), a 8 in quality 'coz although is made of plastic, is very durable, and has a useful hard plastic knob protector, value 10 'coz, you'll never get this quality for the price, and a global 9, 'coz though it exist a million phasers more expensive, and full of great features, this one is very competent and has a price unbeatable.

Great

For the price, this phaser cannot be beaten. It is ideal for someone, like me, who just wants a phaser to mess around with. More seasoned and more frequent phaser-users will probably want something else, just for versitality mainly. I gave it an 8 on features, simply because it only has one knob, Speed. With one knob, everything is useable, but it also limits you to one tone. I gave it a 9 in quality because I have heard better phasers, but this one is not that far behind! When set at a low speed, it just gradually "phases" and the phasing is not as evident, which is good for slower songs. As you speed it up, it gets that jet-engine-whoosh sound. When set at about 3 o'clock, it adds a nice, twangy, chorus-like effect. And at max, it gives you an organ-like warble effect. As for the value, it's hands down the best value in the market now. You will not find a better phaser for the price. If you just want one to use at home or practice, or maybe even a couple songs at a gig, you can't go wrong with this pedal!!!

Quality Pedal

By Mug son of Ugg

from Vancouver, BC Canada

When looking for this pedal I wasn't looking for something that was very expensive so I wasn't expecting anything that was very good. But I was surprised when trying it out. It was suprisingly good for the price. I would highly recomend this for anyone that want's a really basic easy to use pedal.

since 1999

I've owned this pedal since 1999 when i was up for a senior talent show and needed it to play Live's "Lightning Crashes". I still use it. I do want to upgrade to a "real" phaser, but for as much as I use it (hardly, or just to add punch to leads now), its perfect. Batteries last forever, and its held up to my stomping since 1999. Give it a shot. I also own the tuna melt tremolo which is one of the best feature wise I have played. This phaser does not have the slight volume dip as the tremolo did. Get both!

This IS the phaser of the 70's!

Ask me a question

I've got lots of phase shifters but this is my favorite. I miss the Maestro I had 20+ years ago. This is the closest to it. Slow or fast, it sounds great. I built the guts into a Morley pedal, so now I just turn it on, and control the speed with the pedal. Usually, with a phaser, chorus or flanger, the depth has to be turned up the slower the sweep, and the depth has to be turned down with a faster sweep. The depth on this little charmer works with slow or fast. I love it!
