It's a mini amp built into a pedal!

It's a mini amp built into a pedal! It even has its own speaker, great tone, and amazing power. Plug it into a regular amp and it's a cool distortion box.

i bought this for traveling. what i did not realize is that when used as an amp, there is no way to turn the distortion effect off. as an effect with another amp it can be bypassed, but as a stand alone travel amp, it's all or nothing. still cool though for the price.

This is the absolute worst pedal/mini amp I have ever used in my entire life. It totally sucks. If using without an amp you sometimes cant even tell its distorted it sounds like static. If your using it in another amp it still sucks but the distortion is better. Since it doesnt have volume control you can never get it right. Of yeah the plug in for it also broke and every time try to plug it in it makes this really annoying buzzing sound.

Broken and Useless

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

I bought this a month ago, used it once and was not impressed with the sound. But hey, what can you expect for a cheap price.I turned in on again yesterday and it is broken. I tried a new battery and it still is broken. It worked for about 3 days... You be the judge if you want to take the risk.

Still operating after seven years...

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

Plastic case glows under black light! Took one of these pedals to Burning Man; it easily survived the dust + heat. /Agree that only one distortion setting is a raw deal, but it's still a great tone and signal boost. Seems to drain batteries slower than Marshall's 9V-powered practice amp.

Great distortion!

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

My dad owned this, and he suggested I plug it into my amp to see how it sounded. I love the distortion, but the only thing I don't like is the tone you get when you're not using the pedal.

its great

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

I love this thing. The only problem is that the distortion isent all that good. So I hook up a distortion pedal so theres is more distortion then it works just fine. But I have better amp now so yeah but its still fun to jam with every once in a while.

good mini amp!

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

I've had this little guy for about 8 months now and I don't regret buying it. It is the best mini-amp i have ever heard, but it isn't a good distortion pedal. It gives of a clean soudn when used as a pedal, but also makes your amp a heck of a lot louder. The amp i have is pretty quiet, so i used this to give my amp a BIG boost when i play in big audotoriums

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

Its pretty awesome...great sound...only problem is theres no way to tweak the distortion sound...and the plastic screw thing on the back is pretty flimsy. And I was disappointed... other people said it would smell like bacon... mine didnt.

Delicious Tone

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

Great portable amplification at a great price. the distotion is more of a volume boost but Ilike it. the only real bad thing is the pedal is made of plastic, so don`t traet it too rough. Loud for it`s size!

This Pedal...

By GrimReaper82

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

... isn't what I wanted. Don't get me wrong, its better than nothing when you have no amp, but I would rather spend more money and get a better amp and a real distortion pedal. This thing has no distortion or volume knobs, but you can still lower the volume and distortion at the same time when lowering the guitar volume. Either way, it sounds terrible

Smokin' little pedal

By zuzu

from Madison, WI

Comments about Danelectro DJ16 Bacon N' Eggs Mini Amp Plus Distortion:

This little amp is a great value for the money, and if you don't expect it to be more than a buzz box, I think you'll be happy with it.It's only a half a watt or so of power, and is rather limited in adjustments, but the saturation and distortion that comes out of it works really well when you put a good mic right up on it and use it as for recording. We stuck a very expensive mic on it, recorded a blistering track, and you'd never know it was coming out of something like this.Sure, it lacks adjustments, and isn't loud, but the one thing it does do, it does really well. It's fun for street busking with an electric, too, when hanging off your strap from some velcro.
