      Phunky!

It's a '70s style auto wah like you haven't heard since you tossed your bell bottoms.

      Get it and get greasy.

First off, the bad reviews are unfortunately spot-on. It is flimsy, and it will suck tone when in bypass mode. That said, it is a very fun pedal, for bass guitar. My experiments with it on guitar were less than spectacular, but in "lo" mode on bass, it's funk city. I've actually yet to find a better auto-wah for bass that's as funky as this little box. I would definitely recommend putting it on a hard-bypassed loop though, or saving it for the studio.Unfortunately for me, after about a month or two, the poor little thing broke, I must've stepped on it wrong and mashed the mini switch (the switch and knob are regretfully mounted to the circuit board, so they're unnecessarily fragile. Fortunately, Dano has started shipping their mini pedals with clear shrouds to cover the tiny knobs to prevent this.Overall, it's an amazingly fun pedal if you don't ask too much from it (or if you don't stomp on it and destroy it...)

Danelectro stuff is very hit-or-miss; to me, it seems mostly miss: for every Cool Cat Drive (an excellent pedal), they seem to produce 10 French Fries (an awful pedal). The FF is extremely one-dimensional; the lack of true bypass means that it dampens the tone considerably; without a simultaneously engaged compressor or drive, the FF does not do anything except suck up immense amounts of tone; the casing is plasticky and cheap - seems like it will fall apart in a stiff wind; not, repeat *not* for self-respecting musicians. To say that is is a toy would be charitable. Dano's MO seems to be that any kind of aesthetic quirkiness is enough to cloak the shoddiness of their stuff (see their cool looking but mostly unplayable reissue guitars). Exercise skepticism and stay away!!

Danelectro products belong in a toy store not a music store. MF would be smart to drop the entire danelectro product line.

I got this as my first effect pedal looking to play some hendrix and other late 60's and 70's tunes. It doesn't sound exactly like the sound clips but it does what it should and it sounds pretty good. Always make sure you have a good amount of battery life because when you don't it sounds like your playing w/ no tone and you cant hear the wah(just buy the 9v addapter)

I got mine back in the days of allowance. I used it, but it doesn't sound very good. Not at all like the sound clips. You can get acheaper crybaby, or a used pedal, for not too much more money. if you can, get the BOSS V-wah.
