I bought this pedal purely out of curiosity, and because I love delay pedals. It's probably not a true delay, as it has no delay time control, but it does produce a slap-back effect. If that is what you are looking for, then it is without a doubt the biggest bang for your buck. I had reservations about it being made of plastic, but the enclosure is quite rugged, with a heavy metal base plate. You would have to abuse it to damage the housing. It has only two control knobs, and tiny ones at that. Mix is on the left, and repeat is on the right as you look down at the pedal with the FAB Echo logo facing you. There are no numbers to indicate knob directions, and the "instruction sheet" doesn't tell you either. Turning the knobs clockwise when oriented as above increases the effects. Besides lacking knob numbers, the knob pointer marks are all but invisible in low light. I suppose some white paint would solve the problem, if you don't mind modifying your new pedal. The on/off switch is big enough to find with your foot, and seems to work as intended. It has a bright LED to let you know that the pedal is engaged. I noticed no noise, it's a quiet pedal. It is powered with a 9 volt battery, or a power adapter. The sticker on the base plate tells you not to use a power source which exceeds 300mA. This just doesn't make any sense to me. So are they saying not to put it on my pedal board and power my pedals with a 1 Spot (1700mA) or similar power source, or you will fry the pedal? With my limited understanding of electronics, I always thought that a pedal only consumed as many mA as it needed to operate. So being curious, I spent the next hour and a half trying to contact Danelectro customer support. This is where it got interesting. Apparently they are owned by the Evets Corporation in California. They list no phone number or email address on their internet site. After a thorough search on the web, I found several phone numbers, some disconnected and some with recorded messages. My question is, do I really want to buy pedals from a company that is so elusive? The FAB Echo seems to be an inexpensive, good pedal for slap-back (and not much else). I guess the company expects their customers to shell out the money, don't ask any questions about their product, and just throw it away and buy another one if it breaks. I do believe that I have bought my last one...

Comments about Danelectro Fab Echo Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a great pedal addition if you are looking for a small repetition echo. It acts more like a reverb effect in that there is no "infinite echo and delay.

Comments about Danelectro Fab Echo Guitar Effects Pedal:

Really good value for a one setting echo slap back. The only complaint I have is there is no rate setting. You get the slap back and that's it. You can change the feed back amount but not the delay time.

Comments about Danelectro Fab Echo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I use this to add a little space to blues playing. If you already have a delayer, this is a great way to experiment with the "cascading effects" of delayers set up back-to-back.

Just put this pedal in front of your delayer.

For example: Have this echo set to slap back, and then run that into a delayer set on a longer time period.

Lots of possibilities, and did I mention that this pedal is cheap.

...and it's more than OK as a stand-alone echo to add some heft to your sound.

    I like mine.

Comments about Danelectro Fab Echo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have several other FAB pedals. I am quite satified with the quality and sound of the FAB products. I bought the FAB Echo specifically to add some depth to the sound of my touch style guitar. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. So far I have only used it in a practice situation and powered by a battery. So, I cannot comment on how it would work live powered by a pedal board. It is very quiet on battery power.
At the end of the day, this is a bare bones echo, well built with good sound quality.
