It's a huge wall of stadium-flattening amps, all in your head.
With crystal-clean tones, grinding overdrive, and screaming distortion, the little Dean Stack in a Box Guitar Headphone Amp is guaranteed to hurt a lot. Speaker simulation gives it that real giant-stack tone, but the tiny size lets the Dean Headphone Amp fit in your case. Headphones and battery included. Hook the tiny Dean amp up to most stereos and put a hurt on everybody ELSE too!

I recently got back into playing guitar with the help of a few early Christmas gifts. One such gift was the much-appreciated Dean Stack in a Box headphone amp.Out of the box the first thing noted is the small size of the amp - VERY portable and stowable. The next thing I noticed was the "cheapish" included headphones. Not a big deal really as most portable music devices come with bottom-line headphones as well (i.e. MP3 players, portable DVD, etc.) so reaching for my "good" 'phones was to be expected anyway. The volume on this unit was adequate for a moderately quiet environment. I can easily practice in the living room with my son wailing on Guitar Hero II. This amp really helps one tune out the outside world. The Dean Stack in a Box has proven itself INDESPENSBLE to this beginner guitar player. Simply put - I need practice... ...LOTS of it. This little amp helps me get that done long after the kids have gone to bed.The sound of this unit was the biggest bonus. On the Clean and Overdrive settings the tone of my new Epiphone LP comes through wonderfully. The Distortion setting has plenty of crunch for those pounding Punk and Metal riffs and solos. As a beginner I play a lot of "Three-Chord-Punk" and it sounds great on the Stack in a Box.BOTTOM LINE: Great headphone amp for the price. Get better headphones to discover the full potential of this "Mini-Me" amp. The only problem I have is lack of sleep from playing into the wee hours of the night.Highly Recommended.

This thing buzzes like crazy. I've noticed that if it's close to any electronic device (computer, laptop, LCD TV even), the buzz will become wildly intolerable. The only ways to remove the buzz (at least for me) were to move around to find a sweet spot or turn the guitar volume REALLY low with the amp on clean setting, in which case, you might as well play without an amp. Other than that, the tone is really weak and disappointing. The only plus I see is how portable it is. Maybe it was just my unit.

I had the original Rockman back in the 80's, it was great. This product is ok but not great. The OD is fair, the distortion just sounds like the OD only a little loder. Save your money and but a Rockman, they sound a whole lot better.
It is so cool, and handy to have when you can't bring your amp.
There's not a lot of tone !!
I drive semi for a living and I wanted something simple and small and portable. I use a cassete adapter in place of the headphones into the vehicle's stereo I even run the signal into my laptop for recording too. It rocks and works well. I am thinking of getting another 1 or 2.
Sound quality is good. There are 2 settings on distortion, mild and wild. They work very well. The provided headset is krappy. I plugged in a quility set and it sounds sweet. Strat volume I keep at 50%. The volume from this thing will deafen you. It's really loud. You won't be disappointed.
I bought this amp for playin my guitar when I am on vacations. I was impressed by the quality of this product. And a surprise, you can play a wah pedal and even a distortion pedal through it without any problems, if you are looking for a mini amp buy this one.
Just giving this thing a good review to balance out the idiot above who thought it was great but didnt' know how to use the rating system.
I bought this little wonder a couple months ago and could not be happier. I wanted something that was wireless, portable and had good sound for playing without disturbing the wife and kids in the house......this is it! It has a clean channel and 2 distorted channels and 2 volume settings. I used the headphones the amp came with for a while but tried some earbud phones and prefer the earbuds now. If you want an amp for soundless (to the rest of the house) practice or something to travel with, this is it. I have recommended to several people since I've owned it.
This thing has got a ballsy tone for a headphone amp of its size...In my opinion, this thing even blows the original Rockman Ace headphone amps away. It amazingly powered my 1x15'' setup for well over 6 hours by now (added up) and the battery is still fine. I highly recommend it.
This little amp is off the heazy man. With great distortion and overdrive, i jam to this thing everywhere, even at home. This amp is sick.
