Disharmonic bliss at its best!
The Devi Ever Hyperion Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal has been described as the "Big Muff" killer. The Hyperion pedal has excellent sustain and is very sensitve to playing dynamics. ThDevi Ever Hyperion is a great lead fuzz pedal that generates tones that are reminiscent of acidy San Fransisco sounds of the '60s. A built-in gate effect quiets noise when Hyperion distorton pedal is not receiving signal.

If you are timid about getting a Devi Ever pedal, then this is the best one to start with. By all accounts this is one of the tamest of the bench, but still is a very intensely saturated fuzz. In many ways it sounds akin to a Big Muff, without the midscoop and perhaps a hair brighter, so it really cuts through when nescessary. At the lowest gain setting it can be somewhat gated with a shorter decay, and as you turn it up it gets very saturated, and at maximum gain gets pretty scrambly sounding. This pedal also doesn't add too much noise when engaged which is also nice.
This is one of the highest-gain fuzz pedals I've ever played. Incredibly thick, rich, crunchy fuzz. Get the control knob much past 12 o'clock and the texture starts to scramble (that's a good thing). Much past that and it's just ridiculously intense. This pedal responds incredibly well to playing dynamics and cleans up nicely with volume knob rolloff--it's a perfect fuzz pedal.
By far the best distortion/fuzz pedal I have ever used. After playing it for a few minutes, I took my other dist. pedals off my board. Volume knob has lots gain available, control knob adds bite and fuzz. It does not have a battery compartment, thus needing external power, which is fine by me.The tone is superb... I am unable to create a tone I don't like with it. It is sensitive to picking strength in a very cool way. With the knob a quarter of the way up, it starts to get intense. With the knob all the way, I'm afraid to leave it on for very long, lest I melt the neighbors faces. Looks and feels very sturdy..It puts my foreign made pedals to shame. I couldn't be happier with it.
Maybe I just got a bad one. I didn't care for the sound. It didn't quite measure up to the videos I saw online. It looked rough and cheap. The insides were quality and well put together. I tried it with both bass and guitar on different amps and still didn't like it. It just wasn't for me.
a solid fuzz with great sustain, smooth and dirty, but turn up the control and you'll swear that you've blown a speaker. built like a tank, don't think i'll ever replace this one.
I like this thing a lot. great sounds, built pretty sturdy too. makes me rethink all the time I spent just playing distorted. I'll be using it for a while just for some different tones but after playing it for a while I can already see it's gonna get used a lot. yum
The hyperion ROCKS!! With my Les Paul or Strat through my Hotrod Deville or JCM2000, it's face melting! There are controls for volume and "control" which seems to alter a few intuitive parameters at once, turn it till you like it, though it's entire range is useful and fun. From standard Muff on steroids to all out mayhem.Worth every penny.
This pedal covers amazing tones from slight fuzz all the way up to scrambled fuzz bliss! It's built like a tank, comes in a MXR sized enclosure, has high build quality, and is very quiet when activated. If you are looking for a fuzz pedal that can do it all buy this one! Oh, and one more thing, great sustain!!
The Hyperion is a great intro into the world of Devi Ever fuzzboxes. It's got that thick creamy fuzz texture that gets more scrambled as you turn up that texture knob. Personally I use it when I need that classic silicon fuzz texture from the '70s. It's a louder and more flexible version of a more traditional fuzz.
