A 22W head born from the Del Fuego.
The popular Diamond Amps Assassin Vanguard 22W tube guitar amp head is a real fire-breather. The Assassin creates something new, a high gain, Class A, gigable and affordable amp suitable for nearly any situation. Covered in black, the Assassin is a quality, hand-built amplifier producing nothing short of ferocious gain and it is lightweight enough to save your back while still having the power to be gigable even in combination with two 4x12s. Like the Del Fuego, each Assassin is hand wired on a handbuilt fiberglass eyelet board using components selected for reliability and superior sonic character. The Assassin features a full set of tone controls along with a Gain Mode switch allowing for traditional or diode-clipping gain style. The Assassin uses three 12AX7 tubes, two EL84 tubes and a solid state rectifier.

Comments about Diamond Amplification Assassin Vanguard Series 22W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
I'm a blues musician, so it may take some people aback that I bought this. This amp is a fire-breather. It's the loudest 22 watt amp I'm ever gotten my hands on, and it has the most boutique sound I've heard in it's price range. I refuse to replace it until I can afford a Dr. Z Maz Jr. It's my standalone overdrive, and trust me, it sounds heavy, but can be cleaned up so brilliantly. I use this and a reverb/delay pedal for all of my live gigs, be it in or outside. I use two Gibson Les Pauls and a Gibson SG, leave the drive at 9 o'clock, and use only my volume knobs to control my drive. This. Thing. Sings.
Bottom line: this is the best amp you can buy for the money. Boutique quality, crazy versatile, and ultra-sensitive to volume knobs. I may be a blues musician, but about the only thing I wouldn't use this for is Jazz. It isn't a Fender, or a Marshall, or even a Mesa. It's better.
