This is Jimi. This is Stevie. This is David. With a good strat and a Marshall, tonal bliss is immediate. Mine is Green. Thanks Cesar.
The only reason I gave it 4.5 on value is because it is so expensive. I've never spent this much on a pedal. Now I know why people do. Don't get me wrong. It took me some trial and error time to dial it in. This thing is very sensitive to your guitar's volume knob! Playing a thinline tele into a pro jr amp, I was able to get some unreal tone. This pedal is the closest you will ever get to becoming your guitar idols. I can't believe that sound came out of my rig...I have Volume at 3 and Fuzz actually at zero. My guitar's volume knob does the rest. More volume/fuzz gets you Purple Haze. Dial it back for Wall of Denial. I correct the volume change with the boost on my EQ pedal. Can't say enough good things about it. Just bite the bullet and spend an obscene amount of money on one pedal. It's worth it.
You'll recognize the sound of this fuzz as soon as try it as it helps replicates sounds of the early 70s. Even plugging in one of Lester's into my practice amp you could here wonderful Stone's sounds and Rod Stewart band. However, Hendrix mostly used a fuzz with different chips, so this device is unlikely to get you there. I bought mine used/open box as the price point is a bit high.
I was looking for a pedal that would fill up the rest of my sound where there was just that little void. This thing does exactly that. It is rich, full and very dynamic to how you play. I play a strat into a fender blues deluxe and what you can get out of this thing is amazing. There is much attention to detail as well in this pedal, it is signed by the maker as well as individual specs for the transistors in it. This was the final piece of my rig that just put it over the top of tone.
If you are looking for a great sounding, easy to use, dynamic fuzz, look no further! As a past reviewer noted is takes a few minutes to dial in your sound, but when you do, you are in fuzz laden bliss! So, easy to use there are no instructions/sample settings. You will also note that there is no on/off LED because it is not needed...LEAVE IT ON! At half volume on your guitar you get a vibrant clean sound. As you increase the volume you can tell that the harder you hit the strings the more gain/fuzz you get...DYNAMICS. At full volume you are in Hendrix land. I play Fender strats through a super reverb amp with the squareface in front of a ts-9. I couldn't be happier with the results. The price tag is a bit much for such a simple pedal, but, when you hear it you will understand why.
