This unit gives tons of confidence with its build quality and effect/amp selections. The tuner makes it simple to use alternate tunings with its adjustable hz settings and chromatic scale. The plasic patch pedals at first seemed a little flimsy but after years of use and abuse have proved just as strong as the steel case. All the effects are laid out in a very intelligent signal path however it would be nice to place the envelope in front of the chorus for some greasy 70s funk but as is works just as well.
This pedal has every effect most bassists will ever use. Everything from fretless and wah models to compressor, chorus flanger, envelope, and synth. with most being totally customizable with the exception of the synth models to some extent. changes are made easily with the 3 knobs and somewhat intuitive signal path laid out on the top of the unit. And it gives you amp models that are all extremely close approximations of their intended sound. Each amp model is adjustable by both gain and level making it totally easy to get the sound you want no matter how effected the signal is by blending the model level with the "dry" signal.
Built like a tank, I have used this pedal for 5 years with no issues at all. All metal housing with a real metal expression pedal will stand up to the heaviest foot at any venue. Large digital display makes it easy to see the preset names and makes using the onboard tuner, also adjustable, super easy to see on the darkest of stages.
I dont remember how much i bought this for but i know it was not nearly as much as this jewel is worth. I have gigging continuosly with it for 5 years the last 2 of which have been my bass to the BP 200 to the board with no amp at all! The fact that I can take this to a gig as a stand alone effect amp and di box is priceless to me.

When I first received this pedal I played with it. It only had about 30 different sound sellections and they didn't sound very different fom one another so it was trully only about 8 different sounds. About a week after I got it, it began glitching on the digital display. I jumps all around threw the diffent setting and it does it so quickly that you can not even read what it is set at. I wrote digitech and they refered me to there repair shop list. None of the companies I have writen have writen me back. I have a in home studio, its not like I had this thing at some gig with all that wear and tear. It never left my house, or the floor where I first put it for that matter. It's junk, don't buy it.

Amazing effects processor

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

It has some rough spots, but overall is a very good piece. I would reccomend it to any bass player (and maybe some guitar players too) who is looking for a new toy.
the BP200 has tons of effects, some I'll never need, some a staple of my sound. The whammy effect, the wah, and the compressor are top notch
The thing is bult like a tank, don't get me wrong. There is only one issue with the build, and it's that the down pedal will break after a few years. I got mine in 2003, and the pedal broke in around 2007.
It's dirt cheap, you're not going to be able to find a better value anywhere else.

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

i have had this piece of junk for about a year now.so far the tuner quit working in about six months, any sound i try to set changes itself from week to week.i have owned a lot of digitech and a lot of boss peddles and processors, and digitech always falls way short.they never last very long and it always leaves me kicking myself for trying to go a little cheaper and buying digitech.

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I originally got this pedal when cash was tight and I needed to get the most variety for my cash. For that purpose, it was effective. It has a lot of effects, though most I would consider most "boutique" that I wouldn't use live. The drum trainer is a nice touch, but has some notable rhythmic exceptions. The chromatic tuner is convenient, but slow and inaccurate at times, with no indication of cents sharp/flat.Unfortunately, the pedal has a poor signal:noise ratio, so there's a lot of hiss which kills any use for recording. The 'standard' tones (amp and speaker modeling) are poor as well, sounding at best only marginally better than dry, and distortion is always too harsh, it's nearly impossible to get subtle overdrive. The tone leaves too much to be desired live, so I've ditched it for an analog pre-amp/EQ. The compressor is inflexible and lacks threshold, attack, and ratio settings. My foot switch stopped responding to all but my full weight. After removing the back, several layers of electrical tape over the post on the back of the foot switch let it make contact again. Easy fix, even for non-technical users.Best use for this pedal is at home through headphones and experimenting with new effects, but I can't recommend it for anything else. Once you find some sounds that you like, do yourself a favor and recreate that signal chain with individual pedals, analog if possible.

Don't Breath on it, It might break...

      By DigitalDemon716

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I would only recommend this to a beginner, that isn't in a band and doesn't play shows. I can't count how many times I've had to take this thing apart and fix the pedals or jacks. It sounds okay but you don't have a lot of room to tweek. And only a few of the amp models or fx's are practical. On the plus side, it is inexpensive. But you get what you pay for. If you need something that sounds profesional (good) and will take a little bit of a beating (I still have mine in the origonal bag and box and it still broke) don't buy this.

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I found this product to be a great addition to my gear. It provides great flexibility and sound even with the presets. Managing your own sounds can be a little tricky until you get the hang of it. My only disappointment with this item is that that input/output jacks need to be more durable. I had to repair or replace mine after only one year of use. Still, I would highly recommend this product to any bass player looking to expand their sound.

I have had this pedal for over a year now and have had to fix it way too many times. Through normal use, i have had to go in and fix the computer board one too many times. Other than that it's effects are very good for a multi-effects pedal.

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I have owned two of these and I can honestly say its absolute crap. I take excellent care of my gear so it isn't me. I used their ac adapter so it wasnt that either and still it partially quit working twice. When I say partial some of the effects quit working on two different pedals. Why I gave it a second chance I dont know. Besides that when it worked the sound quality is definitely for beginners. If you want good effects for bass save your money for some better gear, individual analog pedals with true bypass circuitry are the way to go and are not always expensive. Check out ebs or mxr they are awesome and you will be happier. I own an MXR Bass auto wah and a Blowtorch and they rule. Dont buy this and if you do you will just have to upgrade again anyway when you find out your sound sucks.

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I've had this pedal for a little over a month now and I came to realize it was the worst money I ever spent. All the effects are practically the same and they don't even deliver a clear tone. I had fun with it for a little while but I don't recommend it. The tuner dosen't work half the time and the a is a little flat. There are way better ways to spend your money.

This pedal is great for the price. I got it for Christmas and have played around with it alot. The effects are easy to tweak, use, and move around. I played Anestishia bass solo on it at a school talent show and won, so those that say it sucks for live performances I disagree. This is a must for any musician!

Don't buy this. It's not worth it. Every single model is terrible. Every single one. Alright if you have some extra cash laying around and want to try some effects. If you're looking to be serious about effects and stick with something, you're better of buying another pedal.

This is a great product if you want more bang for your buck. however if it's absolute quality your after its still not the worst but their are certainly better effects out their on the market, on the other hand many of which cost a lot more of course so like I said before it is more bang for you buck.
