This unit gives tons of confidence with its build quality and effect/amp selections. The tuner makes it simple to use alternate tunings with its adjustable hz settings and chromatic scale. The plasic patch pedals at first seemed a little flimsy but after years of use and abuse have proved just as strong as the steel case. All the effects are laid out in a very intelligent signal path however it would be nice to place the envelope in front of the chorus for some greasy 70s funk but as is works just as well.
This pedal has every effect most bassists will ever use. Everything from fretless and wah models to compressor, chorus flanger, envelope, and synth. with most being totally customizable with the exception of the synth models to some extent. changes are made easily with the 3 knobs and somewhat intuitive signal path laid out on the top of the unit. And it gives you amp models that are all extremely close approximations of their intended sound. Each amp model is adjustable by both gain and level making it totally easy to get the sound you want no matter how effected the signal is by blending the model level with the "dry" signal.
Built like a tank, I have used this pedal for 5 years with no issues at all. All metal housing with a real metal expression pedal will stand up to the heaviest foot at any venue. Large digital display makes it easy to see the preset names and makes using the onboard tuner, also adjustable, super easy to see on the darkest of stages.
I dont remember how much i bought this for but i know it was not nearly as much as this jewel is worth. I have gigging continuosly with it for 5 years the last 2 of which have been my bass to the BP 200 to the board with no amp at all! The fact that I can take this to a gig as a stand alone effect amp and di box is priceless to me.

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I found this product to be a great addition to my gear. It provides great flexibility and sound even with the presets. Managing your own sounds can be a little tricky until you get the hang of it. My only disappointment with this item is that that input/output jacks need to be more durable. I had to repair or replace mine after only one year of use. Still, I would highly recommend this product to any bass player looking to expand their sound.

Compact, sturdy FX box, fits into your gig bag easily. Good sounds to be had with a modicum of tweaking, fun to explore too. Killer for the price.

        Amazing effects processor

        By 84920383

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

It has some rough spots, but overall is a very good piece. I would reccomend it to any bass player (and maybe some guitar players too) who is looking for a new toy.
the BP200 has tons of effects, some I'll never need, some a staple of my sound. The whammy effect, the wah, and the compressor are top notch
The thing is bult like a tank, don't get me wrong. There is only one issue with the build, and it's that the down pedal will break after a few years. I got mine in 2003, and the pedal broke in around 2007.
It's dirt cheap, you're not going to be able to find a better value anywhere else.

        Love This Thing

        By Bigal76

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I love this pedal. It is good for just about any player with any amount of experience. I was able to replace my Delay and Reverb pedals and even add a whammy effect by buying this pedal. The controls are very easy to use and I think it is a good stage pedal. Switching is fast and the screen is easy to see. I recommend this thing to anyone who wants to replace a few pedals.

        Good for those getting started

        By RIPBurton

        from California

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

As I started desiring to use more wah and effect oriented sounds, I bought this pedal. I have been pleased with the collective sounds and effects this thing can do. I'm a big Tool fan, so the Whammy effect immediately caught my attention. Coupled with the delay, it sounds fantastic. I also made good usage out of the amp models, which I was surprised to see how much difference they made in my preset tones. The interface itself is a little odd, and it does take some fine-tuning to perfect the sounds you're looking for. There are some shortcomings I found: the wah and the distortion. The wah was just not to my liking, and the distortion can be a little sporadic and uncontrollable. Both are difficult to harness effectively. I'll probably buy individual pedals for both eventually. Also, although I don't use it because I own a good Korg, the tuner sucks. Don't bother with it. I will say this: it is a good pedal if you are not a pro. If you are, you will need to shell out more to get the sound you need. And this pedal does a great job in replicating other types of effects and amps, but it does compare to the originals, nor should you expect it to.

Good for home use, but hardly gig-worthy

        By Bakkster

        from Baltimore, MD

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I originally got this pedal when cash was tight and I needed to get the most variety for my cash. For that purpose, it was effective. It has a lot of effects, though most I would consider most "boutique" that I wouldn't use live. The drum trainer is a nice touch, but has some notable rhythmic exceptions. The chromatic tuner is convenient, but slow and inaccurate at times, with no indication of cents sharp/flat.Unfortunately, the pedal has a poor signal:noise ratio, so there's a lot of hiss which kills any use for recording. The 'standard' tones (amp and speaker modeling) are poor as well, sounding at best only marginally better than dry, and distortion is always too harsh, it's nearly impossible to get subtle overdrive. The tone leaves too much to be desired live, so I've ditched it for an analog pre-amp/EQ. The compressor is inflexible and lacks threshold, attack, and ratio settings. My foot switch stopped responding to all but my full weight. After removing the back, several layers of electrical tape over the post on the back of the foot switch let it make contact again. Easy fix, even for non-technical users.Best use for this pedal is at home through headphones and experimenting with new effects, but I can't recommend it for anything else. Once you find some sounds that you like, do yourself a favor and recreate that signal chain with individual pedals, analog if possible.
