I really love this effects box. I have had it for about a month, now. I play mainly in church. I play a 59 Harmony/Silvertone or a Schecter acoustic through an Epi Valve Jr with a 12" Jensen. The all-in-one effects box for the electric guitar is wonderful for me. I like being able to set up various effects and tweaking them. The amount of tweaking is preset, so there is some limitation there. However, there are many amp models and effects box models from which to choose, and the sound can be EQ'ed on a limited basis (low, mid, high). Someone with a better ear and more experience with tone shaping may want a different sound than what this box can produce, but for me ... I have been able to make my guitar sound better than it ever has. The sound with my acoustic is where this box really shines, in my judgment. I have been able to set it up so that there is a very realistic acoustic sound coming from the amp. The Digitech Element makes my under-saddle piezo pickup project music that genuinely sounds like an acoustic guitar. It took a little bit of tweaking to come up with this wonderful sound, but it is there!
The drum machine feature is basically only there to act as a metronome; I don't see how it could be used in performance. I am a 53 year old pastor, and my family loves the headphone feature so they don't have to listen to me play! When the output plug is empty, the Element emulates an amp for the headphones, which makes the sound seem somewhat realistic. It makes it enjoyable to practice ... without disturbing everyone around me. There is an 1/8th" MP3 plug input so I can plug my smartphone in and learn new material without driving everyone around me bonkers.
The 24 bit digital to analog has, in my judgment, a wonderfully rich sound. I have nothing but praise for the quality of the sound the Element produces. All in all, the purchase of the Element digital effects box has been one of the best additions to my playing sound that I have made.

I bought this because I like the looks better than my RP-50 (14 years old and still works fine btw!), and I like the metal buttons, and I naturally figured it would sound at least as good. Wronngg. This thing is no comparison in tone to the RP50 (now RP55)!! Without good tone, all the effects are meaningless. The only thing better about it is the drum machine, which is far better and sounds like the one on the RP150 and 155. Maybe I just got a bad one??? But anyway I sold it and will just stick with the old RP50 for now.

Comments about DigiTech Element Multi-Effects Pedal:

The lack of ability to run on battery power cost it a star. Other than that, tough pedal with plenty of options and presets that give you a wide range of sounds and drums as well. BEST VALUE in low lower priced multi effect pedals.

Comments about DigiTech Element Multi-Effects Pedal:

Ive owned other Digitech guitar multi effects and the element is the easiest to use and best sounding. They set it up so it looks like five or six stomp boxes on the front panel. Just hit edit to cycle each one and adjust it with the knob , hit store twice and bam your setting your own effects. The amp choices have everything from high gain deathmetal ,rock, punk, blues and clean channel stuff. I run mine into a Bogner alchemist tube amps clean channel and it shreds. I have also used the Digitech element into a Marshall mg100 solidstate amp and it sounded great too. It will bring your solidstate amp to life. I'm really impressed with the distortion sounds this little pedal puts out. And it has a great noise gate for stops. No hiss. For under 100.00 you cant go wrong. I wish it had a usb out.

Download the owners manual on-line and save while it's till available. Print pages as you need them, there are 40 pages. You have to do certain programming sequences to get stereo out-put to amplifiers. It is a little complex but even I could get it going right out of the box. This is a fun item!

I like the fact that this is a very diverse pedal. Rather than having 4 to 6 pedals out on a large train board, I have a small powerful, yet compact, unit.
