Out of the box, you have 100 preset efx at your command. The side pedal is volume, wah, phase shifter and overdrive, depending on the effect being used. You can also edit these and program an additional 100 of your own. The drummer has 42 rhythm tracks that can't be edited. Tempo can be adjusted. The sound quality is excellent, played through my Kustom 5W tube amp and a 2/10 Cabinet with Eminence Legend speakers. I spent a total of 4+ hours playing 1 through 100 presets. All sound very good many are outstanding. The vol/wah pedal gives extra dimension to an already awesome sounding efx unit. I haven't tried this with the other pedals I have, and there is no reason to do so because the Eternity has them all, and more. I was not expecting this much in one pedal for the low price point. The enclosure is mostly plastic, so it probably wouldn't do well on the road. Around the house and local gigs it should preform well. Overall, I would recommend this for any beginner interested in playing electric or an advanced player who wants to add about 200 new sounds to his effects library. I am very pleased with this purchase. 5 stars because they don't have 6.

I bought this unit as a "stop gap" when my peddle board was stolen. I had little cash and less time before my next gig. On the way to the show I stopped at a music store and bought the Element XP. To my surprise there was no instruction manual so during sound check I messed with it as best I could and we got through the show. After downloading the instruction manual I found the programming to be a bit complicated at first but I got used to it quickly. Bottom line here: The sounds and emulators are excellent! However, switching from patch to patch shows an unacceptable latency between and the Wah sounds are unwieldy and can be shrill at times.

Comments about DigiTech Element XP Multi-Effects Pedal:

This is a good pedal for the money. The preset edits are a bit too coarse for my taste, but it is small, and sounds good. I bought it for size, sound, and capabilities.

Comments about DigiTech Element XP Multi-Effects Pedal:

OK, the short version. I just spent 20 minutes writing a good long review but because I used certain references and words, MF deleted my entire review. I think it is important for you to know you cannot program the drum patches. So using this for live performance is out. Also, this unit locked up after ten minutes of use. Customer support was no help. I returned it. Hopefully they will get the bugs worked out and figure out how to let you program the drum into presets.

Comments about DigiTech Element XP Multi-Effects Pedal:

This thing certainly does a lot for under one hundred. Simply amazing the processing power they pack in here. The expression pedal was the deciding factor for me - that, and I wanted something easy to use. Granted, this is probably not for the professional musician, but it's just what I was looking for. I am impressed at what Digitech has packed in here.

Comments about DigiTech Element XP Multi-Effects Pedal:

I would describe my experience using the Element XP as excellent; however, the first one I had I used a aftermarked power supply that fryed it. Overall, the element works great as volume booster, amp mimic, and effects supplier. If this thing had a loop pedal it would be literally all you need. Would rate 5 stars. Love how you can put all of your sounds in the order you want (100 user slots and 100 presets).

Comments about DigiTech Element XP Multi-Effects Pedal:

I was nervous at first because I've used separate effect pedals my whole career (13yrs). But I must say this is an awesome multi-effects pedal. The preset fx are 100 percent solid. If you're looking for developed drums I would suggest getting a drum machine. But for practicing timing and rhythm this unit does the job. Very user friendly and super compact so you carry around to jam anywhere. There's plenty more features but I'm not going to hurt my hand explaining. If you're interested watch a couple of videos and find one that you can test out. I doubt you will be disappointed. Especially if you're looking for a lot of unique sounds. Plus the price will not break your bank.
