This pedal has really good controls how ever the only issue I have with it is the gain even turned all the way off never turns off.
Not a deal breaker just a flaw for me...
I own a Death Metal pedal by Digitech and ironically the gain is said to be on all the time yet when the gain dial is turned down (not off) the tone sounds less thrashy compared to the Hardwire.
I have only had the Hardwire a short time and really like the controls and switch between tight and loose...The tight selection works for me vs the loose which seems a little too muddy for my tastes.
This pedal sounds great just doing appegio note picking vs the chunky bass drop D notes.
Hardwire has much better tone sculting vs the Death Metal pedal but both are great for playing modern metal or lead solo boost.

This thing sounds amazing right out of the box. It took me a little fidgeting to get my tone down (there are like six knobs and a switch) but since then WOW. I own a stock Metal Zone MT-2 also and this thing makes the MT-2 sound like rubbish. The Digi has better pinch harmonics, sounds more "real", and just rocks way harder.
Buy it! Anyway, at least don't buy the MT-2 over it. Sorry, but I haven't tried many other metal boxes to compare it to.

This Pedal has amazing features. It has a very wide spectrum of tones that can be produced. It has a high, low, and mid range that you can mess with. You can control the level(volume). You can also control the gain(or how much distortion is in your tone). You can also go as far with the tone as to go back and forth between a tight or a loose tone by simply flipping a switch on the pedal. It comes with a glow in the dark sticker that you can put on it.Also provided my Hardwire is a velcrow pad, just in case your going to put it on a pedal board or something like that.
Its a very well build pedal....very strong aswell
With all the options you get with this pedal, compared to others its a great value.

Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:
I bought mine at a music store down the road. The guy told me about Hardwire n talked really highly of the brand. I had been using my Boss Heavy Metal Pedal. A good pedal in it's own right but pales in comparrison to the Hardwire. It's settings are amazing. The tight loose switch gives you big fat tone or higher mid range tone. A lot of thought went into the design of this pedal. From the knobs to the stomp lock ( rubber guard for the knobs) this thing was drawn up rite. This is the real deal.
You can get so many sounds out of this thing. It is unreal. The features on this pedal are second to none. Tight loose switch, 3 band eq ( mid set-up and distortion tuning), stomp lock which I love, and is a little wider than some other pedals out there. So that makes it little easier to access.
It is a good sounding rugged pedal.
Paying this price for this pedal is WELL worth it.

I purchased Hardwire TL-2 Metal Distortion pedal. After playing with all the setings I found this pedal to be very versital. Minor adjustments make major changes. the rubber cover fits nicely over all the switches and knobs, this will avoide unwanted changes after you spend the time setting where you like. This pedal will pull tones from your guitar you never knew where there! Hardwire pedals are made by Digitech a name you can trust.

This pedal is one of the best hi-gain distortion pedals i have ever bought. It has a wide range of sounds and is works really work through tube amps
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal is down right amazing! A constant problem I've found with "Metal" distortion pedals is that they sound great at low to mid volumes but when you have to turn the volume up (for say a gig) the sound goes to hell really quick (and NOT in a good way). This pedal does not have that problem!! I also own the Digitech Death Metal pedal, which I love, but at high volumes it gives off an insane amount of feedback, but this pedal does not! I've been hunting for a really great metal distortion pedal for what seems like an eternity and I was convinced that I was just gonna have to break the bank and get a Peavey 6505+ head before I'd get a really great distortion sound but this pedal has proven me wrong!
