OVERVIEW

Blazing metal distortion with true bypass.

The DigiTech HardWire Series TL-2 is a metal distortion pedal that lets you pick your poison. Metal can come at you fast with tight low-end and a crunching top—or stalk you slowly with a low, throaty roar that sizzles on the high end. The TL-2 distortion pedal's Tight/Loose switch controls the "tightness" of the low end and adjusts the midrange frequency to provide the best overall tone. Level, Gain, and Low, Mid and High tone controls with sweepable midrange allow you to dial in any tone with ease.

The HardWire pedals series represents the DigiTech commitment to quality and attention to subtle details. In addition to technical enhancements like true bypass and high voltage operation, all HardWire pedals feature rugged, all-metal construction; a wide, stage-stable footprint; durable, custom-machined metal knobs for a sure grip; and precision potentiometers that guarantee knob positions will stay intact.

The rugged, durable construction of Extreme Performance Pedals is just the beginning. Inside each HardWire pedal are technological features that serious players require—all updated and improved to their utmost capacity. True bypass preserves the purity of your original tone as signal passes through the pedal, and high voltage operation further protects your sound by eliminating clipping and other signal degradation caused by power drain.

With the high-output pickups found on some electric guitars, it's not unusual to hear clipping when playing through an effects pedal. This occurs when the voltage range produced by a guitar's pickup is greater than the operating voltage of the effects pedal—normally limited to the voltage supplied by the effect's battery or power supply. HardWire pedals incorporate circuitry that increases the operating voltage headroom above that of the typical pedal. As such, HardWire pedals benefit a wider range of guitars and are also at home in an amplifier's effects loop.

HardWire Pedals include the following stage accessories:
Stomplock™ knob guard locks your tone in place and prevent tampering or accidental knob adjustments onstage
Pedal Switch Glow Sticker helps you locate the pedal in adverse stage lighting
Custom-cut Hook and Loop Pedalboard Pad to attach and lock your pedals to your pedalboard

This pedal has really good controls how ever the only issue I have with it is the gain even turned all the way off never turns off.

Not a deal breaker just a flaw for me...

I own a Death Metal pedal by Digitech and ironically the gain is said to be on all the time yet when the gain dial is turned down (not off) the tone sounds less thrashy compared to the Hardwire.

I have only had the Hardwire a short time and really like the controls and switch between tight and loose...The tight selection works for me vs the loose which seems a little too muddy for my tastes.

This pedal sounds great just doing appegio note picking vs the chunky bass drop D notes.
Hardwire has much better tone sculting vs the Death Metal pedal but both are great for playing modern metal or lead solo boost.

I got this on a whim at a guitar shop, and immediately hated it. I've played an RG, and Exit 22, a dean vmnt, and a jackson KE3 through it with both a crate flexwave 212 and a tech 21 tm30 amp, and I can't find any good sound with it. It also adds a LOT of volume to the guitar, which is really annoying because I live in an apartment.

I love the EQ and the tight-loose switch. good sounding metal pedal but I could tame it to get a mid 70's rock thing(Boston,Cheap Trick). Can't stop gain completely but it is a METAL PEDAL! Got it on the cheap. If anything I can throw it at the crowd. Its like 3LBS!!!!

Im very impressed by this pedal. I wasn't specting much but it turned out to be one of my favorite pedals. I had very expensive pedals and this one takes it by far. It sounds like an amp! Complex heavy distortion. Very nice useful eq, tons of usable gain, true bypass. Just get it!

This pedal is IS YOUR FACE!! Very responsive knobs. Bass/treble really work. Sweep mid gets lots of cool sounds. Gain at 0 is like some other pedals on 10. Gain at 10 is more than enough for anything I can think of. Really nice for metal stuff...I wouldn't use it for Blues if ya know what I mean!!! Built really tough and easy battery replacement. The rubber tone loc thing is a good idea too, so you don't knock the knobs with your big feet in the heat of the moment!! We'll see if that thing becomes a nuisance or not.

Loved the pedal...got some great effects... Made like a tank... But a power adapter should be included, particularly since it requires a specific type which can run more then you might imagine.

This thing sounds amazing right out of the box. It took me a little fidgeting to get my tone down (there are like six knobs and a switch) but since then WOW. I own a stock Metal Zone MT-2 also and this thing makes the MT-2 sound like rubbish. The Digi has better pinch harmonics, sounds more "real", and just rocks way harder.

Buy it! Anyway, at least don't buy the MT-2 over it. Sorry, but I haven't tried many other metal boxes to compare it to.

Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This Pedal has amazing features. It has a very wide spectrum of tones that can be produced. It has a high, low, and mid range that you can mess with. You can control the level(volume). You can also control the gain(or how much distortion is in your tone). You can also go as far with the tone as to go back and forth between a tight or a loose tone by simply flipping a switch on the pedal. It comes with a glow in the dark sticker that you can put on it.Also provided my Hardwire is a velcrow pad, just in case your going to put it on a pedal board or something like that.
Its a very well build pedal....very strong aswell
With all the options you get with this pedal, compared to others its a great value.
