Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TR-7 Stereo Tremolo and Rotary Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal has taken a bad rap for a couple things- rotary sounding bad, and sounding too
compressed. If it sounds compressed- I suggest putting it after distortions and NOT in the
effect loop. Remember, it is a volume based pedal and you usually put those closer to your
guitar. I did this and immediately it sounded great.
The "rotary" sound is bad as someone else mentioned. However if you run it stereo as it is
intended for the best effect, it turns into a monster with great rotary simulation. You can
distinctly hear the highs twirling in one amp and the lows in the other. Very cool.
Tap tempo is usable. It is not a "1 to 1" tap- in tremolo mode for example each tap gives you
4 tremolo stutters. This makes it very usable to me.
Built to last a while. Good switching system. Saves the tempo of your last tap if you
turn it off in the middle of a song and then back on again.
Pricey, but does alot if used properly- see "overall".
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TR-7 Stereo Tremolo and Rotary Guitar Effects Pedal:
Despite the sort of lukewarm reveiews I read here, I went ahead and got the Digitech/Hardwire Tremolo Unit. And it's so impressive I don't see how it could get a bad review, I'm glad I bought it. It gets all the standard tremolo/vibrato effects, plus it's rotary tone is the best I've heard (other than a real Lesley speaker) and I've tried a few... including the dual-pedal Boss unit. This pedal isn't weak, it's very powerful. I detected no volume drop, although there is no true bypass, I don't think it's needed here. There's so many tones available with this unit I may never find them all...
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TR-7 Stereo Tremolo and Rotary Guitar Effects Pedal:
Yes fantastic pedal here. Not cheap by any means, nor does it have the best sounds one can find, however it is VERY tweakable to your utmost desires. It can do the Univibe thing. It can do the chorus thing. If you are worried about a volume drop when you kick on the tremolo this pedal has a tone knob (modify) to boost the signal for you. I only wanted to get a tremolo pedal but came across this one and was blown away at how great both the trem and vibrato sounded on here. Two are always better than one, no?
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TR-7 Stereo Tremolo and Rotary Guitar Effects Pedal:
I've got all of the Hardwire pedals (except for the recently released Phaser) and I'd have to say that this pedal is the weakest of the bunch. It sounds very processed and the rotary setting is just plain awful. The tremolo settings are okay but certainly nothing to get worked up about. For $140 you'd do better to buy a pedal that does less but sounds good at what it does do. All bells and whistles and little else. A big disappointment in an otherwise good line of pedals. Thumbs way down.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series TR-7 Stereo Tremolo and Rotary Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal surprised me. I went in to buy a pitch shifter and on a whim, whithout trying it out, decided to get this aswell. As you can see if you read the description, you get various tremolo types, some vibe effects AND a rotary emulator. I haven't gotten to try this pedal in stereo, but it sounds great mono. I need to hurry up and buy another amp to REALLY try it. The rotary effect isn't bad, but not all that great. Def a cool thing to have and I'll use it. What surprised me when I plugged in (again, I bought this on a whim. No prior research) was that it has a tap tempo! That's all I've wanted with a tremolo and I thought I was just going to have to deal with it, but it's there! What Digitech really should do (Maybe a TR-8?) is put another jack on it for an external tap tempo. Having to hold down for three seconds doesn't really work too well for a live situation, but I'll eventually get a Keeley true-bypass switch for it and my problem will be solved.Overall, awesome pedal. Sounds great, solid construction and tap tempo! I think with an ext. tap tempo, this will be 5 stars across the board for me.
