Combines the simplicity of a pedalboard with the flexibility of a multi-effects via your iPad.

The Digitech iPB-10 Programmable Pedalboard with iPad Integration sets a new standard for guitar signal processing. By harnessing the power of the iPad®, it combines the simplicity of a pedalboard with the flexibility of a multi-effects. The iPB-10 unleashes the ability to create and control guitar effects like never before. (iPad® not included).

Pedalboard Simplicity
The iPB-10 allows you to create your ultimate pedalboard, all on your iPad. Design a pedalboard by simply dragging and dropping up to 10 different pedals, in any order, to each pedalboard. You can even add an amp and cabinet to each setup. With 87 different pedals, 54 amps, and 26 cabinets to choose from, your options are virtually unlimited. Simply swipe your finger across the iPad to rearrange your pedals, turn them on and off, or to adjust their knobs.

Multi-effects Flexibility
Traditional multi-effects have given you the flexibility to change the entire configuration of your signal chain with a single footswitch. The iPB-10 brings the concept of presets to a pedalboard. This allows you to save 100 of your favorite pedalboards with the touch or your finger, and instantly recall them with the stomp of your foot. You can have a different pedalboard for each gig, set, song, or even switch pedalboards within a song.

Once you experience the flexibility of the iPB-10 Programmable Pedalboard with its drag and drop design, you will change the way you think about guitar effects forever.

iPB-Nexus App for iPad
The iPB-Nexus app is the perfect way to build and control your pedalboard. Using the simple and intuitive touch screen controls of the iPad, iPB-Nexus makes designing your setup for the iPB-10 Programmable Pedal board easy. Add, arrange, and adjust your pedals with a few simple gestures of your finger.

Drag and Drop Pedalboard Builder
The iPB-Nexus app for the iPad gives you touch screen control of your pedals, amps, and cabinets. Simply drag and drop your choice of 87 different pedals to your pedalboard. Select an amp and a cabinet to make your setup complete. Using the iPB-Nexus app to control your iPB-10, it’s never been easier to explore your tone and find just the right sound.

My Tones Library
The iPB-Nexus app includes the My Tones library where you store, organize, and rate all your favorite presets. My Tones allows you to store an unlimited number of presets and group them any way you want. For example, you can make preset lists for certain sets or specific music genres. This makes setting up before a show a snap. With My Tones, you can have a different pedalboard for each gig, set, song, or even switch pedalboards within a song.

Real-Time Pedalboard View
Running the iPB-Nexus app on the iPad offers a stunningly clear display of your entire pedalboard. You get a real-time view of your pedals, amp, and cabinet. You can easily and quickly see if a pedal is on or off, where its knobs are set, and which footswitch it is assigned to. With the iPB-Nexus real-time pedalboard view, you can take your mind off your gear and focus on your sound, the crowd, and your performance.

Great investment

Features:

Tons of features with this thing. I love the iPad as an interface with the board, the touch screen makes it so much more simple to manipulate. I've had programmable boards in the past and they took much more time to navigate. The pedals are very realistic, I've owned some of the ones that are represented and they sound and tweak out exactly the same as the real thing. The amp models are impressive and the quality of achievable sounds rivals the line 6 pod.

Quality:

This thing is built solid. Only one complaint, I wish the iPad connector had an extension so that u could put it on a stand while programming.

Value:

This is an awesome product and worth the investment, however I do think it's slightly overpriced compared to its competitors. And you throw in the iPad u got quite a chunk of change.

Overall:

Overall, it's a great product. I've been waiting for something like this to come out and when I saw the demo for it I knew I had to have it. The flexibility of a multieffects processor with the simplicity of an iPad.

Press and hold current preset to get to tuner

| Review By: Myestro-O8slN | 3 weeks, 6 days ago

Features:

TUNE IS accessable by foot. (You reviewers Really need to pay attention)

Just press and hold the current preset and the tuner comes on. Pretty logical.

Had it now for a few weeks. Impressed with sound quality. Interface is what we've all been waiting for.

Quality:

Very well built. I think I'd prefer quiet buttons (like Line6), these have a pretty loud click but I can get used to it.

Value:

More pedals than you would ever buy!

I Look forward to a 'tap tempo' update. (giving an alt purpose for one of the later mentioned buttons)

Overall:

Love it! this IS the future. All the benefits of a multi-pedel without giving up the ability to see your pedels at a glance and tweek on the fly.

Couple of things that are not real clear;

1. Amp & Stomp buttons are only used with externaly looped stuff. These buttons do not disengage modeled stomps or amps.

2. The Spec sheet is WRONG! The unit is Not 10.75 inches deep. (it's more like 13") SKB-SC2311 will not work! I have an SC2316 on the way.

The Review You've been waiting for

| Review By: Jwilliams | 2 months, 1 week ago

Features:

I am a gigging musician and use a pedal board that has pedals, in some cases stacked one on top of the other. The Digitech allows me to clean up the mess, offers more over all opportunity for choices and is simpler to use, most certainly than wiring and rewiring and custom cutting cords and velcro and noise and and and......

Quality:

The unit is very solid. Too bad they did not come up with perhaps a hinged plexi-glass cover to protect the ipad from the elements...items dropping, someone spilling something etc...it really is a design flaw. The other design flaw is that you cannot foot switch the tuner...I am actually shocked this doesn't exists, seems like it would have been an easy add so I am using my TC Polytune for that. Other than that, the unit is really first rate. The pedals sound great, the rocker feels good, the switches are solid and real feeling and really seems like it's built pretty solid. The amp models do not sound perfect as you can expect. The pedal models vary, some seem pretty such as the Tube Screamers and the Uni-Vibe (believe it or not it sounds great) where others are not even close such as the Electric Mistress model and the TC Chorus are not close in any way whatsover. The Boogie models are a bit bright, the Vox Model lacks some drive but sound very nice as a clean option. The Marshalls actually capture the escense pretty nicely. I have found that I use it more as a pedalboard than and amp. When used with either my Triaxis or my AxFx Ultra, I can really build some great tones. Seriously, this unit strictly as a pedalboard is clean, very little delay in switching, the rocker for wah and volume as a nice resitence and feels great and though not noise free....it's very low in noise when used in conjunction with the gate. It puts you in much better overall control and performs like a champ in live situations. Again, I still worry about my iPad being exposed like this so between sets, I am taking the iPad out and putting in my backpack until we return to the stage.

Value:

Nothing really gets a 10 and the lack of protection for the iPad, the lack of access to the tuner via footswitch, the inability to do midi and the inablity to use an extension cable to put the ipad on a music stand or something is why I rate it a bit lower. By the way, I bought the standard extension cables like you would purchase for a docking unit etc do not work. I bought the cheap ones and the expensive ones and for some reason, none of them work. THIS is also a huge design flaw. Chances are they will come out with one that costs 3 times the average price and that would suck too.....so for these reasons I do not give it a 10. In fact they loose 2 points alone for the lack of iPad protection. I mean seriously...It's my one and only iPad and I NEED IT...right?

Overall:

It has exceeded my expectations. I planned on trying it out and returning if I didn't like it. I kept it, even bought a custom case for transporting it. I play in 2 working cover bands and it has replaced my traditional pedalboard. I am using it primarily as a pedalboard only however, for one of the bands that I am in I use it in the front end of a crappy Carvin Solid state amp as the full featured unit i.e. amps, cabs etc...it's fine for rehearsals. My Gig rig is a Boogie Triaxis, Boogie 2:90, AxFx Ultra and a Ground Control Pedal. Sure wish this would allow me to eliminate the Ground Control but it's not midi. There is a USB jack but I have not even put thought into how or if I can use this somehow for midi. I have played about 6 gigs with this unit between each band and I really am happy with it as a pedalboard. Seriously....My analog pedalboard is loaded with top end stuff such BB Preamp, Electric Mistress, Proctavia, Fulltone DejaVibe, Fulltone Clyde Wah...etc...my points of referrence are rooted in great gear. The AxFx amp and cab models MURDER the Digitechs but this pretty much goes without saying. So...for a practice or perhaps even some low level recording, the IPB10 as a stand alone is good. As a pedalboard, it really out performed my expectations, so much so that it has replaced my analog pedalboard. It takes up less footprint on stage, is lighter to carry around and is quieter. Most of all, it's too cool to use my iPad at a gig and if my 2:90 decides to blow up or something, I have a back up rig all on the floor that is ready to go direct. Love it...seriously.

Digitech IPB-10

| Review By: Rudy Capistrano | 2 months, 4 weeks ago

1 people out of 2 found this review helpful

Features:

Great user interface on this unit, drag and drop, sort out order of effects including where the effects sit in the amp loop, plus an additional stomp pedal. As for gigs, i used a mxr dyna comp for boost on solos with levels adjusted to taste, and sensitivity on low (zero), stompbox placed all the way to the end of the entire effects chain. By doing this, the expression pedal is now available for any parameters you assign, i use it mostly on wah's and whammy set for dive bomb, i can actually use my hardtails now for the cover (rendition) songs that my band plays. Gave the rating an 8, will point out why so on the overall comments.

Quality:

Build quality is fantastic. We all need to take care of our gear as musicians, nothing is indesctructible. Considering the purpose of this unit, very good construction, good positive tactile feel on the footswitches, good sweep on the expression pedal, although the switch on the expression pedal to activate the wah might be a little too sensitive for me.

Value:

Value would be very subjective upon the buyer, if you already own an iPad2, it's a great addition to your gear. If you don't own iPad2, well, it will get very expensive!!

Overall:

Overall great product and utililzation of the ipad's interface. First things first, NOTHING can subsitute the feel of a real tube amp as opposed to amp sims, or any other digital recreation. I haven't tried an AxeFX, so, hence my basis for this review. As for a gigging musician that plays covers, this product will offer you tons of tones, plug in direct to the PA with the XLR outs, great sounds! If you need to monitor yourself, plug in another tube amp in addition to going direct through the PA! This unit is very flexible with connectivity options for a gigging musician, go direct, go with an amp, do both, use a pedal board in front of the amp, 4 cable method, all is in there!! CAVEAT...application crashes often when using iPad1!!! When used with iPad2, STABLE, STABLE, STABLE, in gigging situations cycling through all your programmed tones, mashing on all the footswitches swiftly, just like a true pedal board. Read in some forums that there is a delay switching between presets, folks have even recorded this delay, and it comes out to only MILLISECONDS! Will the audience really notice that??? Heck, my mesa MKV has more of a delay switching between channels compared to the IPB-10. Would've given it max ratings in all aspects except for the crashes, and....no TAP TEMPO...yet! Although rumor has it that Digitech is "working" on an update to the application.

Overall:

Sure, the interface is as cool as it looks.  The selection of amps, cabs and effects are above average and their sounds are great.  The tweakability factor is high and the visual feedback during edits makes it easy to remember which device you wanted to srlect.  But who operates a computer on the floor?  I'm not that talented with my toes.  I had hoped an extension cord would let me remove ťhe iPad and mount it on a stand but that doesn't work.  So I edit it from a stand I built but the wah just ain't the same when operated by hand.  If Digitech came out with a functional 30 pin extension and made the tuner accessible via footswitch, then they'd have it.
