OVERVIEW

Gives your six-string the effect of sounding like a lush 12-string.

The DigiTech Mosaic Polyphonic 12-String Effect Pedal sets you upon the path of creating lush 12-string sounds with either 6-string electric or amplified acoustic guitars. Immediately identifiable 12-string tones are now yours with octave low strings and doubled high strings. Single notes and full chordal strums shine with polyphonic richness and celestial movement that will inspire you. The Mosaic's balanced low-end response with crisp octave shimmer produces a tone that's lush and articulate, just as with a 12-string guitar.

Tailor the Mosaic's sound with the independent Level and Tone controls. Level will control the 12-string effect intensity while Tone shapes the overall brightness of the effect. The Mosaic will give you a richer, more resonant and full tone than a standard six-string guitar. It is true bypass and uses a 9V DC power supply to easily integrate into your existing pedal board.

Add 12-string jangle to your rig for a fuller sound.

Contrary to the previous review, I find the sound to be EXACTLY what I expected it to be. Effects are never going to be 100% of the real thing but this comes pretty darn close! I have used electric 6 and 12 strings, especially Rickenbacker and custom-made guitars, for well over 30 years - many of those as a touring player. The 12 string sound is pretty darn good, and on gigs where I don't want to bother changing guitars or am tight on space, this effect does the job. Like all effect pedals, take the time to experiment with your settings. I have mine set to make my Ric 620/6 sound pretty close to my Ric 330/12. Kudos to Digitech, job well done.

Misses the mark. I was disappointed and considered returning the pedal. If you did not know it was suppose to simulate a 12-string guitar, you would never guess it. Knowing it, you have to close your eyes and use a lot of imagination. It gives your guitar a little brigher sound but not the 12-string jangle you expect it to miminic. The Digitec Mosaic would be a more reasonable investment at half the price. I collect pedals and have a large guitar fund, so decided to keep it just because. If I had it to do over again, I would wait for a better 12-string pedal. As always, Musicans Friend service was outstanding.

Comments about DigiTech Mosaic 12-String Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've been waiting for years for someone to invent this pedal. I've always loved the sound of an electric 12-string but haven't been able to afford a good one (and now can't play one easily due to arthritis). The controls are simple...level controls the amount of twelve string effect in the sound and the tone controls the tone of the effect only. Using a Strat on the bridge pickup with the controls on the pedal just a little above half-way I can get a great sound for both strumming and playing single-note fills. Tracking is marvelous...I love this pedal!

Comments about DigiTech Mosaic 12-String Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this item hoping to use it on a standard six string electric guitar to avoid hauling around my Rickenbacker for five or six tunes. It does this quite well. Surprise-surprise when used with a twelve string, the chime and ring is fantastic. I used it for the first time at the DylanFest at the Fargo Theater in Fargo,ND. One of the other musicians at the event was amazed and inquired how I got that sound. I think he is ordering one. I don't generally use any pedals but this is one that I will use. Thanks DigiTech and Musicians Friend.

One footnote: I originally ordered an "open box" version to save a bit. The light came on but no effect was home. A simple call to MF allowed me to talk to a human being who handled the purchase in a kind, professional manner and within a few days I received a replacement and a couple of days later, a credit for the first unit. I believe that MF has an excellent training program for their employees by this example.

Comments about DigiTech Mosaic 12-String Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal really does sound like a 12 string guitar. I know Ive played several 12 string guitars in defferent music stores over the past few years. You do have to work with the two control knobs just a bit to get the exact sound you want. But the lil bit of time it will take to do that is very well worth it. I love this pedal. It only runs off of the adapter there is no battery. But to me that's even better. No battery to corrode if its accidently left in too long. If you want a 12 string guitar, this mosaic 12 string effect definitely delivers that awesome 12 string sound

Comments about Mosaic 12-String Guitar Effects Pedal:

High quality unit with great 12 string textures and sounds. I play in a cover band so this is very handy to make certain songs bloom, that I certainly couldn't get with basic effects. I play a 61 reissue SG through a 59 Bassman and sometimes the Eric Clapton Twinolux. The pedal sounds great through the SG. Some other reviews compare to a chorus and I can somewhat see what they mean. I disagree though. I have high-end chorus pedals and they do not emulate a 12 string like this pedal does. If you play through a pro level guitar and pro level amp, you can hear the magic in this pedal.

Comments about DigiTech Mosaic 12-String Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was a little weary about buying this, but am happy I did. I've been wanting a 12 string guitar for years, but didn't want to deal with the tunung issues. The pedal sounds great, almost ike a real 12 string. It gets a little obvious that it isn't when both knobs are turned all the way up. I've been using it with my looping pedal and have been having blast. No complaints here, one of my favorite pedals, and I have a ton of them.

Comments about DigiTech Mosaic 12-String Guitar Effects Pedal:

This will NOT replace an actual 12 string, however is a very useful addition to the pedal board. It really adds sparkle to an acoustic (when plugged to an amp). I have the knobs cranked to about the 3 o'clock positions to max out the effect. There's no audible "click" on the effects button which is nice - no effort needed.

Comments about DigiTech Mosaic 12-String Guitar Effects Pedal:

I played in typical gigging local rock and roll bands in the 60's. Played professionally in the late seventies and have been playing for my own enjoyment ever since. The one guitar i used to own and miss the most is my Rickenbacker 12 string (1968) played through my Vox Super Beatle amp (also gone for good). They have gone up in price just a tad since then; so this effect pedal is just what I have been looking for. It creates a pretty convincing 12 string sound. Play along with some Birds tunes and it's quite cool. Not perfect but close enough to really enjoy.
