Tried the MarkBass. Then tried the XBW.
At half the cost, and VERY similar sound quality and type of effects I am sticking with the XBW.
Only lacking feature is a MIX knob of dry and effect. I wish it had that, but I can adjust controls to help a bit.
For that envelope/wah, and a lower octave that really I only need on a few tunes, this does the job and at a good price.
Therefore I say: Good Value!

I'm a professional bassist in a very busy wedding band. I needed a synth pedal to play lady gaga, kesha, etc. I borrowed one of these pedals from a friend's studio for a few weeks until I bought my own, so I have used more than one of them. Out of the 7 effects the pedal offers I have only found one useful. I do not like the envelope filter at all, in comparison to a q-tron. The synth is the only useful effect but there is no dry mix control and you can not turn off the octave below. This makes any note below the open A pretty much useless. There is also a pretty dramatic volume drop when pedal is engaged. Also I have found that the pedal sucks out the tone on the dry signal when disengaged. I'm not very pleased with the pedal, it does what it does but it could be a lot better. I may invest in something a little more useful.

Comments about DigiTech XBW Bass Synth Wah Effects Pedal:
Well, it started out good, but after a month of use the sound quality has deteriorated. Not sure what happened? The other problem is that it does not have an output/volume control. It also does not like active basses with a lot of signal. I'm disappointed and will get something else. Too late to return it. Hopefully this is just a bad seed and everyone else doesn't have this issue.

Comments about DigiTech XBW Bass Synth Wah Effects Pedal:
Nice pedal, with a lot of cool sounds. However, not many are useful for live situations. I got it to get the Synth effect that the Muse bassist has on Hysteria and Time is Running Out. The number 4 selection is the most useful and is very close to what I needed. Tracks well and good adjustability. Good price for a fun effect!
Comments about DigiTech XBW Bass Synth Wah Effects Pedal:
Outstanding. If you need a pedal for jazz to metal, the Synth Wah is the way to go.
7 different tones in one pedal is outstanding. The envelope filter is a great wah for guitar and bass, the synth sounds are sweet for changing the sound of a cover, and the SubOctave is awesome, except it's dirty on the low bass notes.
I got is for Christmas, but finding out it was only about 90 dollars I was amazed.
Comments about DigiTech XBW Bass Synth Wah Effects Pedal:
GREAT tones in this pedal. The wah sounds are really fun to play around with; almost sounds like a Cry Baby, which is AWESOME. Works on guitar and bass. The SubOctave Type sounds dirty with low notes, but other wise a great and durable pedal. Kills 9V Batteries, so get an adapter if you want to use it often.
Comments about DigiTech XBW Bass Synth Wah Effects Pedal:
This is a great little pedal, I got it for christmas and it's pretty great. There's a very wide range of synth functions, and the wah itself is amazing. It's fairly durable as well, as it's made of metal.

Mine died after a short time. I have a two other friends who had the same luck with this pedal. All 3 died after a short time.
Comments about DigiTech XBW Bass Synth Wah Effects Pedal:
This pedal is awesome! I got it at a shop, used, and for 50 bucks so it was a real find! I use this for my guitar, and it works perfectly fine. I was looking for a real crazy pedal that could give me weird sounds. And i found it! This pedal rivals the Line 6 filter modeler. All though it doesn't have as many setting as the filter modeler, it is just as good for half the price! Definetly a must buy
