I got this amp back in Feburary 2003 with my first bass and for the money it's a great amp but it's just a real strait forward amp with no effects or anything like that. Though it's features aren't incredibly great it's still a pretty good amp and it's built well from what i know and it's pretty cool how you can remove the little screen off of the front without any screws or anything. It doesn't really sound bad but it doesn't sound extremely good either. If you have a good bass this amp delivers pretty good sound quality but this is more of a beginner/practice kinda amp. Personally i think it's a pretty good amp and it's not like you can't change tone, volume, bass, treble or anything like that so really for the money it's a great deal. I recommend this amp for anyone wanting to get started with bass or anyone who wants a straitforward practice amp with pretty good sound quality and doesn't want to put out a whole lot of money.

i bought this amp two months ago for something to keep in my apt so i didn't have to drag out all my stuff and play with headphones. I was blown away by how loud it was at only one or two on the volume knob. I let the guys in my band hear it and they were amazed. The speaker will rattle when you turn it up and i play a 4 string. But it does exactly what it is design for. Best amp for home practice.
I bought this amp to replace an old Epiphone bass practice amp that my son took to college. This little sucker is LOUD! I was using this for rehearsals and it more than kept up with the guitarist's Vox AD30 amp. To tell the truth, I was swayed by previous reviews on this amp, but I had no idea how good it was until I got it. I own a Japanese pawnshop fretless, an Epiphone Viola and an Eastwood Classic 4, and they all sound great through it, with the Eastwood being particularly loud. Basic controls, but that's all you need. Want effects? Buy a pedal.
I bought the cd200b two years ago when I was leaving for college. Being a guitar major, I wanted an amp that was light, could put out enough sound to hang with a jazz big band and have a decent tone. I recently recorded several tracks for a hip hop album with this thing because it just makes my guitar sound so good. As far as bass goes, I have no idea. But, this puppy makes my archtop sound like a million bucks. The guitar already has a big sound, and this amp just pushes the beautiful semi-acoustic sound out there with no processing or other stuff to screw up your sound. If you need an amp you can put through hell and still sound great without breaking your back or your wallet, go for this.
I bought this to use at home. I sometimes keep my Gig Rig packed up for gigs, and my big combo amp at the rehearsal studio, so I picked this up for home, and it really sounds bigger than it looks. More than I expected!
I bought this amp when just starting bass, I've since then bought a 120w bass amp and I use this one for guitar since I cannot afford an actual guitar amp. For the money this is suprosingly good, even on my guitar. It gets really loud and if you set the eq right you can get a nice punchy sound out of it. I suggest taking off the cloth cover thingy that covers the speaker as it seems to sound better with it off.
I bought this amp so I could use something small to practice at home with. So far, I am not disappointed at all. The sound is rich and much more powerful than what I expected. There aren't any special features that will blow you away, but this amp does what it was made to do and does it well. I highly recommend it.
I purchased the Drive CD200B 20w bass practice amp as a package with the Rogue LX205B 5-String Bass and I gotta tell ya, this amp is awesome! I usrd it jamming in a garage with a band and I had to turn it down. Looking for an inexpensive practice amp that plays well with others, you can't go wrong here!
This is an amazeing amp, and for only 60 bucks, how can you go wrong? Thought it does lack features, and the EQ knobs basicly do nothing, This little baby is LOUD! I have to keep it at about 1-2 or else I desturb every one in the house. Great practice amp for a great price, need I say any more?Props to Musictians friend for getting it here in only two days! For free! If I had paid 50 extra bucks for shipping it couldn't have gotten here sooner. If your looking for a preformance amp, this isn't one. It's only 20W and lacks features. But for what it's made for, namely home and band practice, THIS AMP ROCKS!!
I bought this amp as my practice amp. I just leave my Ampeg half stack at my band's practice area and play on this one at home. It is not a great amp, however if you are looking to just use it in your home it doesn't have to sound great, it just has to be decent and thats what this bass is decent.
