I got this amp back in Feburary 2003 with my first bass and for the money it's a great amp but it's just a real strait forward amp with no effects or anything like that. Though it's features aren't incredibly great it's still a pretty good amp and it's built well from what i know and it's pretty cool how you can remove the little screen off of the front without any screws or anything. It doesn't really sound bad but it doesn't sound extremely good either. If you have a good bass this amp delivers pretty good sound quality but this is more of a beginner/practice kinda amp. Personally i think it's a pretty good amp and it's not like you can't change tone, volume, bass, treble or anything like that so really for the money it's a great deal. I recommend this amp for anyone wanting to get started with bass or anyone who wants a straitforward practice amp with pretty good sound quality and doesn't want to put out a whole lot of money.

it's alright for just practicing at home but I wouldn't perform with it. I play bass for a metal bass and I sometimes use it in practice. I recommend only really for beginners.
not all bass players and bass amps need to knock the friggin plaster off the walls or blow out windows...a good inexpensive practice amp is a very important tool for any bass player...to play larger venues ya need power to carry the soud you hear in your head...but for small gigs and close quarters 20 amps works fine,in my experience...if your testosterone level needs to match your amp output....this is not the amp for you...but if you need a good quality, inexpensive practice amp...how can you beat the price...small amps allow you to hear if your technique sucks....its about quality first...your tone....your sound...your willing to practice...no amp in the world can cover poor technique....practicing can...so do it with an amp that doesn't blow out your eardrums,or send you to the poor house..if i didn't have a 15w practice amp i'd buy this one is an instant......
For the money, probably one of the best buys around. I use it regularly, with and without the headphones, and it's just fine for practicing, it really can't be beat for the price. I have it hooked up to a wireless headphone set, and I can be practicing at midnight when the wife and kids are sleeping, and no one even knows.
Nothing exciting about this amp. Breaks up when volume turned up past 2 Especially when playing the low E string on my Ibanez bass. Get something more powerful.
Ok I first bought this little amp when I started playing in my youth group band. I was short on money so I gave this a shot. I couldn't believe how much this little thing could do. Sure there arn't alot of features but this thing rocks. However do not buy if you want big sound. This thing is pretty loud for its size but not loud enough for me. This is an awesome amp!!!
A lot of people have bashed this little amp for various things, but I've really enjoyed mine. I ordered the bass and amp to use for practice, and this amp is awesome for that. Of course, it is only 20 watts, so you can't gig with it. But it has a great sound, and the headphone jack really helps. I would recommend this to anyone.
It is a great amp for what it is going for. It's wonderful for those just starting to play bass, although it's features aren't great.
This is an excellent sounding practice amp that could be used for small room gigs. At first I thought the speaker would flap at higher volumes but I was suprised I was able to dial in what I needed, at all volume levels, from very clear to a smooth transition into distortion past half volume. Even the bass chords sound good.
Great amp for the money! Looking for a solid practice amp? This is it!
I bought this amp so I did not have to lug my 65 pound Bassman 200 to practices or where the larger amp was not appropriate (like a living room). My main reason for selecting this amp was price. You can't beat it. I have owned this amp for 5 months. I couldn't have rented a practice amp for less.
I bought this amp so I could use something small to practice at home with. So far, I am not disappointed at all. The sound is rich and much more powerful than what I expected. There aren't any special features that will blow you away, but this amp does what it was made to do and does it well. I highly recommend it.
I bought this amp to replace an old Epiphone bass practice amp that my son took to college. This little sucker is LOUD! I was using this for rehearsals and it more than kept up with the guitarist's Vox AD30 amp. To tell the truth, I was swayed by previous reviews on this amp, but I had no idea how good it was until I got it. I own a Japanese pawnshop fretless, an Epiphone Viola and an Eastwood Classic 4, and they all sound great through it, with the Eastwood being particularly loud. Basic controls, but that's all you need. Want effects? Buy a pedal.
I thought it was a strong well made amp for what it is . I work in a studio and and tones are so loud and proud!
i bought this amp two months ago for something to keep in my apt so i didn't have to drag out all my stuff and play with headphones. I was blown away by how loud it was at only one or two on the volume knob. I let the guys in my band hear it and they were amazed. The speaker will rattle when you turn it up and i play a 4 string. But it does exactly what it is design for. Best amp for home practice.
An all right amp for what it is, a beginner's low-power practice amp. Distorts when pushed at maximum volume. Conclusion: go for something a bit better.
This is a very good amp for any level player. It is a perfect practice amp or even for a small gig. Alot of power in a small amp.
I bought this amp as my practice amp. I just leave my Ampeg half stack at my band's practice area and play on this one at home. It is not a great amp, however if you are looking to just use it in your home it doesn't have to sound great, it just has to be decent and thats what this bass is decent.
I got this amp for christmas, and it's a nice amp for its money. There aren't very many features, but for a small amp,it's powerful. I'd its good for practices and small, closed gigs.
This is an amazeing amp, and for only 60 bucks, how can you go wrong? Thought it does lack features, and the EQ knobs basicly do nothing, This little baby is LOUD! I have to keep it at about 1-2 or else I desturb every one in the house. Great practice amp for a great price, need I say any more?Props to Musictians friend for getting it here in only two days! For free! If I had paid 50 extra bucks for shipping it couldn't have gotten here sooner. If your looking for a preformance amp, this isn't one. It's only 20W and lacks features. But for what it's made for, namely home and band practice, THIS AMP ROCKS!!
I bought this amp when just starting bass, I've since then bought a 120w bass amp and I use this one for guitar since I cannot afford an actual guitar amp. For the money this is suprosingly good, even on my guitar. It gets really loud and if you set the eq right you can get a nice punchy sound out of it. I suggest taking off the cloth cover thingy that covers the speaker as it seems to sound better with it off.
