    Unmistakable Jimi voodoo.

The Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face is a meticulously faithful reproduction of the 1969-70 Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face that Jimi used on classic albums like Band of Gypsys. Dunlop's engineering department examined hoards of vintage Fuzz Faces, honing in on a few units that possessed unmistakable Jimi voodoo.

The Hendrix Fuzz Face is built around the toneful BC108 silicon transistor. It is authentic in every detail — a hand wired brown circuit board with no solder mask and circuitry carefully matched to the original specs. The look is 100% accurate too — that groovy circular chassis with tooled clones of the original Fuzz Face knobs in the rare and vintage turquoise hammertone finish.

Hendrix was the master of fuzz — an artist with many subtle shadings at his command. His love affair with the legendary Fuzz Face pedal began in the early days of the Experience and continued to evolve throughout his blazing career.

A truly playable collectIble for any Hendrix or Fuzz Face fanatic. Powered by 9V battery.

Wow I thought this thing was junk when I first strated playing with it. You have to plug the guitar directly into it or you get nothing but noise and bad tones. After I figured this out and ;listened to some other reviews about putting the guitar volume on about 7 it really is the 70's again. Sounds just like cream, zep, etc. Other greats use this like E.Johnson and Skunk from steely Dan. You can add a tweak of fuzz to a clean sound by turning the volume and or fuzz way down. It adjusts the tone of the guitar to a creamy nice wet sound. I love it. It needs a light to tell you when it was on otherwise you leave the chords plugged in and burn the battery out real quick. No DC power chord this is real 1970s stuff. I hot rodded it by adding a battery kill switch and an a power LED. I'm also thinking about adding a jack for DC power but am too bust playing with all the sweet tones im getting.
The big Muff sucks compared to this, dont wast your money

Comments about Dunlop JH-F1 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Pedal:

This pedal is excellent for certain players: those who have the right gear to accompany it and who have the time to really sit down and dial in the right sound. This isn't going to be for everyone, but I guess no pedal really is! A cranked tube amp really makes this thing shine. If you are using a solid state amp and are considering this pedal, just know that you are probably not going to hear the Fuzz Face at its full potential, so be very cautious.

This is not a "plug-in-and-play" kind of pedal. It took me a couple of sittings to tweak my amp and the pedal settings enough to get a good sound and to be honest I did not like it at first. After putting the time in, I have gotten a really good, pummeling fuzz tone with this thing and my Vox AC30. I love it! It is probably best known for working in conjunction with single coil pickups but I have gotten a really great sound with my mid-2000's Gibson SG Standard. So, I would recommend trying it even if you have a guitar with humbuckers!

        Old school fuzz tone

        By SpyderRik

        from Pembroke, MA

Comments about Dunlop JH-F1 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Pedal:

I love this fuzz box. It gives me that "acid" tone I want on certain tunes.
I picked up an old Pignose 40V and along with my Dunlop Wah Wah this Fuzz box makes the package complete. The Pignose is all tube so it really sounds cool when the fuzz and the wah are doing their thing. Built strong and sturdy, with easy controls it fits the bill perfectly.
        Very good quality construction.

        Good sound bad package

        By Rectified

        from California

Comments about Dunlop JH-F1 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Pedal:

This unit has great vintage mojo that gives good Hendrix tone w/Strat. I sent mine back to exchange for the MXR 108 classic fuzz. Basically the same unit with bypass, ac and smaller in size. The Fuzz face also has a noisy pop to the foot switch and runs on a 9 volt only. It is made very sturdy and is a true recreation. In order to get the transistors to really kick in you have to turn the fuzz knob up almost all the way. The unit I had was a littel week so I had to run it with a DOD Grey OD clone to boost the gain a little. Overall it has great tone and with a Moen Jimi pedal and a decent tube amp cranked up its Hendrix/Trower all the way. Pretty cool

        Close but lacking

        By Lee

        from Memphis

Comments about Dunlop JH-F1 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Pedal:

I ordered this pedal knowing it would not be an onslaught of noise, but some really good tones. I ran it alone and then with my Blackstone Appliances mossfet overdrive. Since I play thru a squeaky clean amp, I knew I would need to layer this pedal with some kind of signal boost and these two pedals together produced some of the best tones I'd heard in 40 years of playing. But, today I returned the JH-F1 because it couldn't run either alone, or within my chain without radio signal interference. I could literally listen to someone carry on a conversation. Needless to say I was disappointed. I gave it decent ratings for quality because the components are good. Dunlop just needs to clean up the circuit.

        Hendrix Fuzz Face

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Dunlop JH-F1 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Pedal:

What can you say, you get what you pay for. This his is amazing, and very vintage, with a definite "voodoo" sound. Although it is not very responsive (not much fuzz until the knob is almost all the way up), it is an excellent sound. The same thing goes for the volume knob. However, that is practically irrelevant to how good the pedal sounds. Very similar to Jimi. Sounds unbelievable through my 1974 100 watt Super Lead head. Of course Jimi used a strat, but my Gibson 57 Les Paul Custom and my Gibson 58 Les Paul custom sound unbelievable as well. My strat sounds equally good also.

        simple but classic

        By Tyler B

        from pikeville, ky

Comments about Dunlop JH-F1 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Pedal:

I just got this recently because several of my favorite guitar players used it, mainly Gilmour and Hendrix. I replaced my Big Muff with this and this thing wins every time. The BM might have a little more sustain and more features with a tone knob. But you have to really push the muff to get it to sound right. You don't have to do that with this pedal. I sounds good with strats, teles, and les pauls unlike the BM. It only sounded good with single coils to me. Plus I'm playing through a solid state for now. The fuzz face cleans up really easy. Set the Volume at about 70% and Fuzz at 100% and forget it. Just adjust your guitars volume to clean it up. Cleaned up, it sounds more like a rude distortion pedal, and cranked it sounds like classic fuzz and not mud.

        This is your fuzz tone

Comments about Dunlop JH-F1 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Pedal:

A great pedal. Finally makes those open E power chord to E9 riffs sound good. (the progression sounded to jazzy until I bought this. It will make you want to play loose... It will make you want to play slow. It will inspire you. It sounds great for open tunings with my Decca. Sounds like hendrix with my strat. It's very sensitive to what you put in front of it. Sounds creamier if you put a tone sucking pedal like a wah in front of it... Suppose you could just eq your amp if you have a good amp... Anyway, this pedal is making me sell my Marshall MG HDFX 100 for a epiphone valve jr and a bugera 1960 plexi. Do it, buy it now!!!
