I actually got this wah second hand. I found it stuck in a drawer where at my church where I typical play music at. I found the owner and he let me adopt it. It seem very sturdy, although the battery clip is broken. I think that is a very established flaw. That I can live with. I mount my effects on a board and use a power supply so no big deal. the bottom plate looks caved in. I seems very thin and flimsy. The rest of it is a iron tank. The Sound: This is the meat of the matter. Although it has a good sound the "sweep" is not ideal. Its very one side or the other. I'm sure you can adjust for that with technic but it seems like a unnatural movement. Toe down it sounds very shrill. Maybe you can over come that with amp setting but unless you plan on keeping it on the whole song whats the use. Heel down covers everything up where you can not be heard through the mix. The pedal sounds ok by its self but in real application your sound get lost in the fray. You'd need a boost, but then you'd regret it when you put the toe down.I also have a Modtone wah. Same price, but it gives you some nice features like LED, True by-pass, and more vocal "wah" sound. I ran them through the passes side by side and the modtone won. dunlop makes good wahs, but this isn't one of the better ones. Not bad, not the best.

The original is always the best...

By Andreas Kardasis

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

I don't have much experience with wah pedals as I don't use many effects if at all. I got the CryBaby for Christmas, so I've only been using it a couple weeks. The previous wah I used was a Vox Wah setting on my Korg AX3000G. Before anybody says anything, the Vox Wah is licensed and it's circuitry is used in the AX3000G. I didn't like the way the Vox Wah sounded at all. The range on the CryBaby is perfect, the axis of the pedal itself is tight and it's very smooth and natural sounding to my ears. I'm still learning to play with the CryBaby, but I'm already in love with this thing. As for quality, this thing is built like a tank. Very sturdy, it has a nice heft to it, and the rubber feet will make it stick to the ground. I highly recommend this wah pedal to anybody who is looking for a fantastic, quality-made wah pedal for their first pedal.

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

Simply the best, no extra switches to trip over.
the original cry baby wah pedal is the best wah ever made. I have owned two of these and the only reason I bought a second was after 35 yrs. of working flawlessly, some one stole my first one right off the stage when the band wasn't there.
Built like a tank, maybe better.
still cheap after all these years.

The Standard Wah Pedal

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

If you want a wah, get this one as it is the industry standard. I have not noticed any drop off in tone when this pedal is on my pedalboard and not activated, so I don't really know why some people end up spending more money to have a "true bypass" modification to this pedal.

Nice Pedal

By Robbin Turner

from Kentucky

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

The Original Crybaby Wah Pedal does exactly what you'd want a wah pedal to do. But if you're running it off of a battery, make sure it's a new battery, otherwise the pedal makes little to no....well....wah.
While there are no adjustable features for this pedal, there don't really need to be. It does the job just fine on it's own.
A very sturdy piece of equipment.
For the price, a nine volt AC adapter should be included.

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

I checked out several wah pedals at various prices and I'm glad I went with this one. It works and sounds great.
IF the pot is not set in the right place for the sound you want you can take the back off and loosen a screw and turn the pot slightly to adjust the sweep of the pedal. That way you can dial in the exact tone you want.
The pedal is dead quiet and doesn't alter your tone when it's off.
Dunlop makes quality products for sure!

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

I ordered the Crybaby wah pedal and it arrived in just a few days. However, when depressing the pedal even half way it created a lot of static in the sound. I called Musician's Friend and they immediately said to return it. A replacement arrived quickly and worked great. I also received a paid return label so it cost me nothing to return the defective one. I am very impressed with MF's customer service.

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

This is probably the most popular Wah pedal on the market and for a good reason. This has 'THE SOUND' that started it all. You can not do Clapton or Hendrix without this pedal. This pedal is a well made quality product with the right weight and feel. I have tried other Wah pedals and always seem to come back to the original. If you are looking for a good solid Was pedal then look no further than this one.

Comments about Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah Pedal:

This is the best wah I have ever used. I have been playing for 20 years. I have tried several wahs and this is the one. It has that classic sound and the responsiveness needed for effortless use. This model in particular is the best I have used. I have tried the "Fasel" Classic version but I sold that and came back to this one. I tried the Morley road too...nope, this is the one. Sounds great with 'buckers or singles. Rich warm sound with clean tones, snarling grit with dirty tones (depending on chain order). This is a standard for a reason. Cheap price for a rich and satisfying experience.

I have had this Wah for about 4 months now and I just have to say that this is a must have for all players. Whether you play blues, rock, jazz, or metal, this pedal will have it's uses that will always aid you. I mainly play metal, and I use this for solos and it helps me boost the signal. My dog steps on this more than I do and it doesn't have one scratch on it yet. Buy this pedal, you won't be disappointed!

I had an original that I bought in 1989 then sold in 2004. I've been using a Budda Wah for the last 12 years, and it's an awesome pedal. There's something about the original wah that has reminds me of that White Room and Sweet Child O Mine sound so i bought a new one. It has a more traditional or appropriate sweep compared to the fasal, budda, and signatures. My preference, and it's very affordable.
