OVERVIEW

The smaller and more modern answer to the well loved limited run Ghost Disaster from 2010!

The Dispatch Master is a digital delay and reverb unit with an all analog direct signal path and true bypass switching. It is capable of producing nearly 2 seconds of delay time with near-infinite repeats and a cavernous reverb. Both effects can be run separately or in unison. Even though it is a DSP based effect, the sound is warm and full. No sterile lifeless tones here! The delay signal is clear and strong with no after effects or signal degradation and the repeats decay into a nice ambient swell with no oscillation. The reverb is MASSIVE and is sure to please those who love the Ghost Echo but want more depth and less artifacts. The perfect "Black Hole Ambience Generator"!

FEATURES
  • Controls:
  • Time: Controls the delay time, from 0ms to nearly 2000ms
  • Repeats: Controls the regeneration of the delayed signal. Also acts as a enhancer for the reverb. In reverb mode this will control the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb.
  • Reverb: Controls the reverb mix
  • Mix: Controls the over all level of the effected signal
  • To use as a reverb only, turn the time control all the way down and adjust the reverb and mix controls to taste. In this mode, the repeats control can be used to enhance the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb. With the reverb control at it's maximum setting, the repeats control will gradually overload the effect at higher settings.

    Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

    This pedal can do a lot. Only problem is it can get a little chime at high volumes and high gain. Not the delay, obviously I'm not trying to set too much delay like that, but the reverb... Maybe it's just me but when I bypass the delay, I just can't get a solid reverb at high gain. Good, but not great...it's reverb though and awesome delay in one pedal. Absolutely no complaints about the delay. Phenomenal delay but loses a star for lack of reverb versatility in my book.

      Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

      Adds the right sense of reverb/delay in a quality voicing.Paired with an amp of decent quality.
      as other's have said the delay could be a little less prominent (adjustable) in the mix...really have to tweak.
      dials are easily jogged...

        Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

        I LOVE the Dispatch Master!

        I was considering the TC Electronics T2 pedal for a while because it was on sale, and had so many ambient soundscapes. I watched numerous youtube videos about it. It intrigued me considerably. The one limitation that kept coming up was the inability to tweak some of the parameters on the T2. I realize there's tone print, but I want to be able to tweak things at the moment without my phone.

        I know the Dispatch Master has a more limited reverb than most TC Electronics pedals, but something about the Dispatch Master really drew me in.

        I simply cannot stop messing with this pedal. The permutations of delay and reverb make so many incredible effects, both in isolation, and in conjunction with each other.

        If there's something I'm looking for in terms of spaciousness, it's easy to dial it in with the reverb and repeat knobs.

        The same can be said for the delay. I bought a Modtone delay which really disappointed me. It was inexpensive, but it's fairly noisy. This pedal is clean, noise free, and provides spacious soundscapes to explore.

        Cost = High
        Satisfaction = High
        Dispatch Master = Worthwhile splurge.

        Every now and then, you need to splurge and get the goods.

          Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

          I bought the Earthquaker Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb pedal based solely on the excellent reviews I read here on the MUSICIAN'S FRIEND website. Because I've been using LINE 6 Pods and an AVID Eleven Rack through PHIL JONES amps for quite a while now, I had become unfamiliar with what was currently on the market in the way of reverb pedals. So I began looking through the MF inventory and reading reviews.

          I needed an uncomplicated, high-quality reverb pedal for one specific reason. Last year I bought a FENDER Clapton Twinolux amp. As great as that amp is, over time I found that I missed having reverb when I wanted it. Because the Twinolux has its own distinctive and highly desirable character and tone, as one reviewer put it, "you need to think carefully about pedal selection so as not to ruin the tone." I also didn't want to pack this amp off to an amp specialist and have it modded for obvious reasons.

          After sorting through reviews for quite a while, the 13 positive-to-glowing reviews for the Earthquaker Dispatch pedal convinced me that it was worth trying.....those reviews couldn't have been more correct. Not only is it a first-rate reverb pedal and beautifully simple, it's exactly what I needed for this amp in that it is totally and completely transparent and totally and completely silent. It adds no coloration to the amp in any way, doesn't change the tone or character of it one iota, and it is dead quiet. It's like it doesn't even exist, except that now this tremendous tube amp has an absolutely beautiful reverb that's equal to the quality of the amp.

          Worth every penney.

              Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

              Amazing little pedal. I would buy this one for the reverb alone. It can go from just a little reverb to big and full by tweaking the reverb and mix knob. But you can also add some delay to give your tone some amazing depth. Not all the fancy settings of other brands but this one nails it for me. I have tried countless reverb pedals and finally this one ended the search for me.

                Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

                This pedal is absolutely great! The tracking of the delay is very good and the tone of the reverb it offers is awesome! You could maybe find better reverb and delay pedals separately for quite a bit more money but this thing just kicks butt, I doubt you can find a better quality reverb/delay pedal for this low of a price anywhere. It's mostly advertised as a guitar pedal but I use it on bass and it sounds just as awesome there as it does on guitar. Earthquaker devices rocks and I would recommend any of their pedals to any one!

                      Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

                      I consider myself a tone snob and I would tell anyone looking to start a pedal board that this along with a quality OD (I personally like the Fulltone OCD) would have you ready to take on the world. I love everything about it, right down to the brightness of the indicator light. While it's true, it does require a DEDICATED 9v power supply (no daisy chaining) and the delay lacks the flexibility of an individual delay pedal such as the extremely versatile DL4. But I have never in 20 years of playing, plugged in a pedal and immediately got goosebumps when I heard the sounds coming out of my amp. It inspired me to the point that I (when I actually sat down with the intention to rehearse for some upcoming shows) immediately jumped into my home studio and wrote/recorded a song with ONLY it, and none of the other multitude of pedals I own. I will be looking in to more Earthquaker pedals to add to my growing collection.

                        Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

                        I have had this unit for about 4 or 5 months. I was looking for a compact pedal solution for reverb and delay and the Dispatch Master fit the bill. It is somewhat limited in fine tuning the delay effect compared to some high quality, dedicated (delay only) units, but for live performance this unit serves the purpose very well. The combination of blending delay and reverb can produce some great atmospheric effects (for which I think it shines best), yet it can still be tamed for subtle applications. My only negative comment about this unit has to do with its digital tone. Mind you, the tone is very good, but it is obvious that it is digital delay. This can produce some noticeable over-tones as well as that typical, slightly sterile tone. If you are looking for the ultimate delay unit I think you will need to look at a dedicated delay only unit which will allow you greater control over the various parameters of the delay signal. The reverb section of this unit functions nicely, but again it is digital with the same tone qualities associated with the delay tone. I have used this with both electric and acoustic guitar. I think it lends itself to electric tone much more than acoustic. I am extremely picky about my acoustic tone and don't normally like a lot of effects in the signal path, but there are occasions when a little delay can be effective. All in all, this is a very good unit, especially if you want to conserve space on your pedalboard. The build quality is solid and I don't foresee any problems with durabilty. I haven't had any problems with it in the time that I have had it. So, if you're searching for a really good compact unit that will give you delay and reverb, the Dispatch Master deserves consideration.
