OVERVIEW

The smaller and more modern answer to the well loved limited run Ghost Disaster from 2010!

The Dispatch Master is a digital delay and reverb unit with an all analog direct signal path and true bypass switching. It is capable of producing nearly 2 seconds of delay time with near-infinite repeats and a cavernous reverb. Both effects can be run separately or in unison. Even though it is a DSP based effect, the sound is warm and full. No sterile lifeless tones here! The delay signal is clear and strong with no after effects or signal degradation and the repeats decay into a nice ambient swell with no oscillation. The reverb is MASSIVE and is sure to please those who love the Ghost Echo but want more depth and less artifacts. The perfect "Black Hole Ambience Generator"!

FEATURES
  • Controls:
  • Time: Controls the delay time, from 0ms to nearly 2000ms
  • Repeats: Controls the regeneration of the delayed signal. Also acts as a enhancer for the reverb. In reverb mode this will control the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb.
  • Reverb: Controls the reverb mix
  • Mix: Controls the over all level of the effected signal
  • To use as a reverb only, turn the time control all the way down and adjust the reverb and mix controls to taste. In this mode, the repeats control can be used to enhance the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb. With the reverb control at it’s maximum setting, the repeats control will gradually overload the effect at higher settings.

Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

I consider myself a tone snob and I would tell anyone looking to start a pedal board that this along with a quality OD (I personally like the Fulltone OCD) would have you ready to take on the world. I love everything about it, right down to the brightness of the indicator light. While it's true, it does require a DEDICATED 9v power supply (no daisy chaining) and the delay lacks the flexibility of an individual delay pedal such as the extremely versatile DL4. But I have never in 20 years of playing, plugged in a pedal and immediately got goosebumps when I heard the sounds coming out of my amp. It inspired me to the point that I (when I actually sat down with the intention to rehearse for some upcoming shows) immediately jumped into my home studio and wrote/recorded a song with ONLY it, and none of the other multitude of pedals I own. I will be looking in to more Earthquaker pedals to add to my growing collection.

Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have had this unit for about 4 or 5 months. I was looking for a compact pedal solution for reverb and delay and the Dispatch Master fit the bill. It is somewhat limited in fine tuning the delay effect compared to some high quality, dedicated (delay only) units, but for live performance this unit serves the purpose very well. The combination of blending delay and reverb can produce some great atmospheric effects (for which I think it shines best), yet it can still be tamed for subtle applications. My only negative comment about this unit has to do with its digital tone. Mind you, the tone is very good, but it is obvious that it is digital delay. This can produce some noticeable over-tones as well as that typical, slightly sterile tone. If you are looking for the ultimate delay unit I think you will need to look at a dedicated delay only unit which will allow you greater control over the various parameters of the delay signal. The reverb section of this unit functions nicely, but again it is digital with the same tone qualities associated with the delay tone. I have used this with both electric and acoustic guitar. I think it lends itself to electric tone much more than acoustic. I am extremely picky about my acoustic tone and don't normally like a lot of effects in the signal path, but there are occasions when a little delay can be effective. All in all, this is a very good unit, especially if you want to conserve space on your pedalboard. The build quality is solid and I don't foresee any problems with durabilty. I haven't had any problems with it in the time that I have had it. So, if you're searching for a really good compact unit that will give you delay and reverb, the Dispatch Master deserves consideration.

Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

This thing is amazing. It combines reverb with responsive delay to brighten and add a nice spacial element of repeats to your tone. Like another reviewer here, I added this to my one-trick pony micro terror to clean up it's act. The only con is price, but you're pay for handmade american quality. Although it's a digital delay, it has an organic sound to it. Very responsive to your strum patterns whether it be subtle or powered. Unlike my bossdd3 that no longer works because it's picky with what power supply you use, this thing uses a standard 9V out. It does not come with an adaptor here at MF. This thing is only powered by an adaptor, not battery powered. Love the look. Dialing in your tone feels fluid, smooth and top notch.

Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

I wanted something compact and easy to use with pedal steel and this fills the bill. The sounds are all musical and I don't need a bunch of emulations just high quality, easily adjustable reverb and echo for ambience.

I consider the Dispatch Master a higher quality version of the old Boss RV-3. It is quiet, great sounding and easy to adjust. I use a 1 Spot for the power supply, it is readily available and works perfectly.

I have a pedal board for big gigs and use studio effects when recording but for sit in, practice and jamming this is the perfect tool.

Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

Great reverb tone on the one hand. Mild to dreamy to unsettling delay effect on the other hand. Both the reverb & delay tones are great and you can blend them in some really cool ways. Very simple operation = no manual needed!

My EVH 5150 III was just a little dry with no reverb. This pedal is always on with at least a touch of reverb on that amp and the delay effect allowed me to remove my MXR Analog Delay from my cluttered pedal board. The Dispatch Master delay sounds are better than the MXR to my ears and it also has reverb. Kills two birds with one stone so the price is actually quite reasonable.

The only downside is that if you want to have some reverb on for a live song and then want to kick on delay for a solo, there is only one on/off button. Therefore, you must either go without reverb for the majority of the song and kick on the pedal for the solo OR leave both on for the entire song. Of course this is not an issue for recording as you will probably just record the solo on another track.

All in all, I highly recommend this pedal for the tone and it certainly has had a lot of use on my board. Just be aware of it's limitation.

Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master Delay and Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

I replaced a Behringer digital delay pedal with this one. Recently bought a Micro Terror for small gigs. Since the amp has no effects, I added this pedal for the reverb. But the combined use of the delay effects and reverb on this unit are superb. You can achieve some awesome effects combinations, or separate them. Great addition on my board and just what I needed for the Micro Terror. Very well built. I highly recommend it!
