OVERVIEW

Reverse delay and violin bow-like effects in the palm of your hand.

Use the EBow Plus rather than your pick, and create awesome synth effects. A small electrical charge sets up an energy field, vibrating the string giving you limitless sustain until you pull it away. The tiny, 9V-battery-powered PlusEbow replaces your pick, letting you mimic strings and synths and create outlandish sounds beyond any instrument.

The Plus EBow lets you play as fast as your left hand can scurry through a lick. Fade a string in from a motionless state for a reverse-tape effect. Run the EBow across the strings for gorgeous arpeggios. Add distortion for a screaming guitar sound. Playing the PlusEBow directly over the pickup will increase your volume and give you the crisp sound of super hot pickups. Moving away from the pickup gives you the mellow sound of a hollowbody electric. The sounds you discover by experimenting with the EBow will amaze you. And like the best tools of the trade, the EBow will sound different for each musician.

EBows have been used on countless records by some of the biggest names in music. Isn't it time you put it to work in your act?

You've heard it on countless recordings and live performances, now add it to your arsenal! Order now.

It does take quite a bit of time, effort, and practice to develope a technique that will give nice results, but it can be well worth it. The eBow can make the guitar sound amazing and add unique options to your sound.
I highly recommend watching and studying all of the videos, manuals, and additional materials you can find on using the eBow.
    Very cool.
Creative and alternative sounds and effects. Normal and feedback modes add to the versatility.
The overall feel of the eBow is good but the plastic casing makes the durability a bit questionable. I would fear to drop it. I only use it for studio recording work, but someone who gigs alot with it might have to consider being extra careful.
I personally feel that it is a bit expensive for what it is and what it does. Taking the time to learn how to use it, master the technique, and incorporate it into your guitar style can make it worth-while, but for some people, using it might be more of an occasional novelty than a major part of your sound.

Don't drop it! It's a plastic gadget and not exactly what I was expecting - the demos are superior to what I was able to do "out of the box", so I guess I need more experience using it. Doesn't work as good with my Stratocaster single coil or semi-hollow humbucking guitars, but seems to work better with my Rickenbacker single coil and my solid body humbucking guitars. The violin and woodwind effects are the easiest effects to attain, but the cello, harmonica and other effects definitely require adjustments between your amp (I used a Vox and a Marshall) and your guitar(s). It's fun to use, but it will never replace my fingers or pick. Great for creating melodic or eerie washes for your music. I can see how it can be used for some cool distorted guitar licks that benefit from lots of sustain. You can use it straight out of the box (doesn't come with a 9V battery, which is pretty cheap of the Ebow company considering the expensive price tag!) but don't expect to be a pro without some decent practice. Nothing that will knock you off your chair, but I have to say it's "OK" as an effect in your gear bag... The cost is really steep for what I'd consider should be half its price, but there's nothing else out there quite like it, so if you have money to spare, you might want to pick one up.

Comments about PlusEBow Electronic Bow for Guitar:

Works fine with 6-string solid body & 12-string hollow-body (though 12-string gives interesting results), but does NOT work at all with my 4-string solid body Mando-Strat, which is disappointing. when the eBow approaches the pickup, the result is just low-level static noise

This EBOW was not for myself, it was a gift for my nephew. He is a gifted guitar player, that need just what the EBOW would provide. He has been wanting to get one for a long time. I viewed the demonstrations on Youtube and thought this would really help his lead guitar playing at church.

I'm a novice 52 year old guitar player. When my wife & me heard the audio samples we decided to buy it.A lot of reviews say it has a high learning curve but I found it easy to use.It will take a very long time to master though.Very fun to play on my strat.Infinite sustane is super cool.As is the feedback setting.A little delay & reverb adds to the effect.Very fun!!

Comments about PlusEBow Electronic Bow for Guitar:

I had bought one of the original EBows back in "76" or "77" and returned it because the response time was bad. I decided to try it again after seeing Steve Howe use one with no problem. The new ones work great, and having so far only tested it, I really can't comment on it's durability. It does seem to have much potential and should be a lot of fun.

Comments about PlusEBow Electronic Bow for Guitar:

Growing up musically in the 70's and 80's, I couldn't believe I never heard of this gadget. Forget using a violin bow Led Zeppelin style, this will do a much better job! After it showed up, I played around with it for hours...great fun! As others have stated, the learning curve is a little steep, especially in eliminating string noise, but not impossible at all. It just takes a little dedicated practice.

I was first off surprised at how well made the EbowPlus is. I found it easier to use after reading the instructions thouroughly. It will definitely take some practice to be able to do all I'd like to with it, but it will be worth it.

This this is awesome! Just hold it over your string, close to the pick up, and that string won't stop ringing until you take the ebow off of it. The ebow sounds really cool with swells and for filler guitar parts. I think that once I get more creative with it the ebow will become a very common part of my music.

The ebow is a great tool that I am having a lot of fun experimenting with. After reading the directions that come in the box, it's easy to get the lead guitar sound found on many Smashing Pumpkins tracks. Using the ebow to arpeggiate chords and get a cello/violin sound is the trickiest technique and will require some practice to achieve.
