OVERVIEW

No buzz, no hum, no signal loss, no filtering, no noise gates.

The Ebtech Hum Eliminator™ is designed to eliminate 60 cycle hum (60Hz AC signal) caused by Ground Loops. It is also designed to convert unbalanced lines to a true balanced lines.

Do you hear a hum or buzz in your audio signal? Are long unbalanced lines across stage creating noise problems? Cancel unwanted noise with the Hum Eliminator™ from Ebtech®.

Almost all AC hum (60Hz in the US, 50 Hz in most other countries), is caused by ground loops. These ground loops act like radio antennae picking up hum and noise. The Hum Eliminator™ completely suppresses this by breaking the ground loop, making it impossible for the signal lines to pick up the AC hum and noise in the first place.

Just plug the Hum Eliminator™ in the signal lines between the offending pieces of equipment and you're done! Quick and easy.

No buzz, no hum. No signal degradation. No filtering. No noise gates. No dangerous ground lifts.

FEATURES
  • Eliminates AC hum / 60Hz buzz and noise, quickly and easily
  • Breaks ground loop safely, while leaving all signal grounds intact

Comments about Ebtech HE-2-XLR Hum Eliminator with XLR:

Okay... so I live in a lovely old house with very outdated wiring. I own an ISP Theta Preamp that I've been recording with for quite some time... run direct, either line outs to cabinet simulators in a Rocktron Xpression or, lately, a Lexicon MPX-G2 (which is much warmer feeling overall). Even do recording of high gain stuff through the XLR outs on the Theta. Cleans I usually go straight out of the line outs with no cab sims...

It's never been a problem to connect to my Peavey PV8 USB mixer and shoot it to my computer. Everything is quiet as a mouse. However...

I acquired the awesome ISP Theta Combo 2x12... being as how the preamp section is the same as the Theta Preamp, the thought of recording the same way seemed very exciting... BUT, with the old bad wiring in my home, not even my Furman Rack Rider Power Conditioners could offset the 60hz hum that kicked out loudly from the Theta Combo every time I connected it to the mixer... if I had just the Xpression in the effect loop of the Combo, it was great... couldn't connect directly or via the Xpression without the hum...

I tried everything: different outlets, three to two prong adapters, extension cords, ground lifts, etc... nothing worked. So, I took a chance and grabbed up the Ebtech Hum Eliminator. BAM... stomped out that hum like a narc at a biker rally! Clean, clear and NO HUM.

What is also great about this unit is the 1/4 ins and outs and the XLR in/out... you can use different configurations (1/4 in to XLR out, XLR in to 1/4 out) dependent upon your needs... a nice bonus to killing the hum.

An excellent piece of gear... only had it two days and I'm smiling my butt off... Now I can play with the Theta Combo blasting and have my bastardized W/D/W set up with the cab sims and effects roaring through the studio monitors... MONSTROUS.

    Thank you Ebtech...

Comments about Ebtech HE-2-XLR Hum Eliminator with XLR:

It's great to use when you don't have clean power. The speaker power was routed right along side the lighting. I installed it between the snake box and the speakers and the transformer hum was significantly reduced. I recommend having several of these around for "just in case."

      Great Product

Comments about Ebtech HE-2-XLR Hum Eliminator with XLR:

This is well worth the $$$ if your looking to keep your recordings pristine clean. I purchased a 300 dollar power conditioner for my home studio hoping to kill all the humming and buzzing while I'm trying to record. However, while the conditioner helped to keep AC interference from screwing up a good recording, my keyboard was still buzzing. I purchased one of these as well as (2) TRS1/4 inch balanced cables for stereo input and TOTAL SILENCE! My multitrack recorder has 1/4 inch balanced inputs as well as 3 pin so the Hum Eliminator converted my unbalanced 1/4 inch output on my keyboard to a 1/4 inch balanced input into my recorder. Very handy to be able to choose a conversion to a balanced 3pin or TRS1/4 inch. Between the power conditioner and this unit the signal is absolutely silent. I will be purchasing more soon to convert all unbalanced outputs to a balanced input. Their kinda pricey but well worth it.

      Does Exactly What It Promises

Comments about Ebtech HE-2-XLR Hum Eliminator with XLR:

Truly a great piece of gear. No muss, no fuss and about as straight forward as it gets. Easy to use and I love the option of XLR or TRS 1/4.We've been using this for the mains at our church (an all metal building) and it completely KILLED the hum..."total freakin' silence". We've been using for about 6 months with no issue. Just today I purchased a second unit for the run to our monitors.
