Tourmaster 4100 Guitar Amp Head

Each of the Tourmaster 4100 amp head's channels has an identical set of controls, but that is where the similarities end.

Clean/Vintage 1 is the cleanest of the four. Within this channel lives a range of Classic tones ranging from pristine sparkle with the voicing switch set to MODERN to a punchy, aggressive drive (think clean JTM) in the CLASSIC mode. Pressing the button to activate the CONTOUR control opens an entire new range of beautiful clean, almost acoustic, tones not often found in a tube amplifier.

Clean/Vintage 2 has a very similar voicing to the Clean/Vintage 1 channel. This channel has more gain, so it can be pushed into mild overdrive. Sweet blues and classic rock tones are easily coaxed out of this channel. The contour knob adds another level of unique flavors.

Overdrive 1: From AC/DC crunch to modern rock, this channel covers a lot of bases all by itself. Dial down the gain and the feel is pure classic rock. Push the gain and enter into more modern, saturated territory. Scoop the mids with the CONTOUR control for monstrous metal or set it for classic British rhythm.

Overdrive 2: The Tourmaster's most intense channel, you'll find ferocious gain with a wide range of tones to suit the '80s shredder as well as the heaviest modern metal player. Scoop the mids with the powerful CONTOUR control for massive crunch or push the midrange for a solo tone that cuts through with serious authority.

Power Grid: This is a really cool feature you will only find on the Egnater Tourmaster amps. Using a group of 5 slide switches on the rear panel, you can set the power output for each channel individually. There is a 3-position slide switch corresponding to each of the four channels and a single FULL POWER/ HALF POWER slide switch. In FULL POWER mode, you can choose between 100w, 50w or 25w per channel. In the HALF POWER mode, you can between choose 50w, 25w or 10w per channel.

With the Tourmaster 4100 amp head, you not only have a wide array of tones available from the preamp channels, but with the Power Grid you can introduce any amount of power tube distortion you wish to each channel: all preset, all automatic.

Thumbs up

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster 4100 Guitar Amp Head and Tourmaster 412A 280W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I have been a solid state guy, playing for about 20 years. Always thought I couldnt get the sound I wanted from a tube amp. After having this rig for about a week, I think I have discovered why I was always "fiddling" around with the knobs on my other rigs! That distinctive "wet" sound that I have been missing right on the leading edge of the pick attack, is there now. I have looked for it for years, and it was in this head all the time! I used to drop out of the mix when my band was playing at a high level, just because the solid state stuff would turn to "mush" or something. This rig puts me right up in your face for sure. The only downside at this point is that I have to clean up my playing... Cant hide mistakes behind a "grey" wall of sound anymore!!!! :-) Dont hesitate, buy this rig!
Four channels pretty much allow you to get the sound you want and keep them
So far so good, Make sure you get hand trucks to carry this unit! Not for someone with a weak back!
Dont really have an opinion, never purchased a tube amp before but after shopping around, this seemed like the best deal for the quality and features

The Tourmaster 4100/412A cabinet is an Earth-Shaking Powerhouse! This amp is so versatile that it's impossible not to find the tone you've always dreamed of.Words will not due this amp justice. Try one.By the way, I'm also the lucky owner a Tourmaster 4212 Combo. Egnater also has the best Technical support I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with.Imagine, actually speaking to the person who has built and tested your Amp.What a great company!

Every feature I could possibly want

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster 4100 Guitar Amp Head and Tourmaster 412A 280W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I bought this amp used and I have been very pleased. So many useful features and a great sound. I mostly use it for a classic rock kinda sound but it will also do higher gain stuff as well. I'm pretty sure mine would benefit from some new tubes (like a said I bought it used and you can tell it has some wear and tear) but it sounds great as is.
