I went to GC to check out a combo Tourmaster, it ended up being some beat up used thing, but it sounded good. It was really heavy. So I ordered the head only from MF to run through my Marshall 2x12 cab. When it arrived it was in a thin unmarked box, I opened it and could tell the footswitch had been repacked in the box, so at this point I was suspicious. Plugged it in and stared with channel 1 and made adjustments and it started sounding great, did this with each channel and sounding really good until a got to channel four, DEAD. MF had the nerve to send me a used defective head that had been returned. I contacted Egnater and they told me the only time they send something out in a plain box is when it's a refurbish, I couldn't believe MF would do this, I called MF and asked to speak to a supervisor and she asked "What do you want me to do?" I don't know if I will order again from MF, if you do, make sure to tell them if you pay full price you want it new in the box!

My Egnater Tourmaster 4100 Amp has been plagued with problems. It has never been dependable. It Constantly blew internal and external fuses. The sound comes and goes and even plays by itself without a cord plugged in it. Egnater was helpful at first and then switched on us. It was a bad purchase and I will never buy Egnater brand equipment again. Maybe you will have better luck.

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 4100 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head:
Firstly, I must say that this amp is one of the best sounding tone machines I've heard. Correctly dialed in, it can produce anything from California to England both in terms of clean and down right nasty. The tone is nothing short of beautiful. I purchased this amp from GC on clearance. Great price, but had some problems. I sent the amp to Egnater for repair (great warranty). They fixed most of the problems, but missed a problem with a low level static that sometimes became ferocious, completely taking over the tone and volume. I called them and they payed return shipping. They replaced all of the tubes (12 in total) as a effort to fix the problem. They believe (maybe too much) that tubes fix most all problems with static. They reported that they never heard the problem, but re-tubed it to satisfy my complaint. They sent it back with problem intact. They never followed my instructions in order to find and diagnose the problem, thus they never found it. This is my only complaint with Egnater. They don't really listen well to the customer. They forced me to pay to return the amp and show them the problem. Fortunately, I live within driving distance to their facility. I showed them the problem in 2 minutes. They tried to argue that it was tubes, but after a complete tube replacement that was highly unlikely. In the end, I walked out with a new amp. Customer satisfied, but not without stress and having to force them to listen. The new amp sounds great and no problems so far. If you buy and need repair in warranty, be prepared to fight if need be.
Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 4100 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head:
I have owned mine for over a year, I had a problem early on with overdrive one channel that caused a significant loss of volume and drive. there was also a low level hum coming from the power tranny. I had to pay to ship the amp to a service tech that Egnater recommended. I got the amp back and was told it need to have a bad tranny replaced, the hum was gone, but the OD 1 channel still had the same problem. Egnater stepped up and paid the shipping cost to have the amp reserviced at there shop and they found a potentiometer that needed to be replaced. Since then I have had no problems and I truly enjoy the many options this amp offers for adjusting tone and running the amp at different power levels. I never tire of experimenting with the endless potential it has.
Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 4100 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head:
Let me start off by saying that I have had this amplifier for two years and I have had the time to put it through its paces. After over a 72 5 hour shows, dozens of rehearsals, and two full length records later it needs to visit the amp tech for servicing. To me that is quality. I have owned several amps over the years (Mesa Boogie Strategy rack series, Bugera 333XL, Mesa Dual Rectifier Tremoverb, Soldano SLO, Fender, etc. ) and the Egnater never ceases to amaze me. The first thing that I need to stress about this amp is it has the best clean tone on the market today. It is harmonically rich with a smooth character that is like a fine whiskey. I stacked it up to a vintage 1970's Fender Super Six which, with it's six ten inch speakers and fantastic all tube circuit provides an iconic and delicious tone which is to die for. The Tourmaster spanked it hands down. No joke. The Egnater's clean sounds better than a coveted, vintage Fender amp. On clean vintage 2 I can nail great vintage crunch tones, rockabilly, classic rock, and that elusive Marshall Plexi tone with ease. Overdrive One puts you into the modified JCM 800 arena and can dish out singing overtones with string definition and clarity. OD channel 2 is a little bit more of an enigma... it is more like an SLO with more balls... great lead tone. The contour feature on each channel is great although I rarely use them. A warning to the metal heads out there... if you are looking for a high gain beast to make your guitar sound like a duffel bag of cats going through a wood chipper, this amp isn't for you. The gain structure is very conservative. I play high energy original hard rock, along the lines of Guns N Roses/Nickelback/etc and it fits the bill perfectly.

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 4100 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head:
I've had this Tourmaster 4100 head (with the matching 2X12 cab) for about 10 months now and just love it. There's such a variety of tones that you can eek out of this thing. I play a variety of stuff (classic rock, 80's rock/metal, contemporary praise and worship) and this thing handles them all with ease. (I will say that this is probably not an amp for modern metal, though.)The one thing I don't find that useful is the contour function, but I don't need it to get the tones I want. The power grid feature is awesome. You can really get some good power tube saturation going at the lower setting. But don't expect a huge drop in volume. It doesn't work that way.Do keep in mind that this thing is VERY heavy. However, my Mesa Mark IV head weighed just as much.A tip - Try cranking the channel volume all the way up and using the gain as the channel volume. This will give you more power tube saturation and can create some nice tones.

Features: [1:Front Panel] Master Control includes Master Volume (Loudness), Spring Reverb, Density & Presence are work great but the only thing that's not enough is the Reverb, it' good not great.Nevermind the sound still awesome !!! [2:Back Panel] Both Series & Parallel FX Loop are work great, they don't mess your awesome tone if you read "TM4100 User Manual".Series FX Loop needs the "Unity Gain" only that found in TM4100 User Manual/ Parallel FX Loop does not mess your tone. Power Grid is the best of Amps world, it' very very useful to maintain your tone still great even if you play guitar at low volume (Loudness) or high volume..."Tip = The Lower Volume You Play, The Low Wattage You Use", for maintaining Bass & Treble still great. Tube Bias no need to adjust if no problem in sound. Direct Record Out is for your recording or to Mixer when you play live!!!. Speaker Out 4, 8 & 16 Ohm w/t Selectable Switch is so goodQuality: Everthing works great, the sound awesome in every channel. No needs "Booster" or "Overdrive" pedal to increase sustain, because the "Gain Knob" in TM4100 is enough to obtain your sustain.TM4100 is the place that Modern & Classic were met...This is "Overall Amplifier".Value: High-End(Quality) Amp But Low Price)...Don't Miss !!!Overall: It's has no "Boost Switch", but don't worry, be happy because it's has more gain to use....I LOVE IT, I LIKE IT & I NEED IT...
Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 4100 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head:
Let me first state that I have owned a b-52 AT100, a bogner, a 6505+ and not to mention a few crate and other solid state combo amps. Six plus years of playing guitar and dabbling in bass, I know good solid tone when I hear it. It seems like you must choose between punchy, warm, smooth, or saturated as the personality and voicing of your amp. A 6505 is too punchy, a bogner is too warm, and crate is always too saturated and fake for my liking. This Egnater though, if tone is the up most important thing to you then you will have little to complain about. 50% warm tone 40% in your face punch and 10% vintage voicing (its unmistakable and quite pleasing). I don't know much about vintage sounds and classic rock tone but I could definitely improvise my way into any 80s/70s metal band. I managed to get the exact sound that TOOL uses. However, the on board distortion CAN get mean and modern but it will give you ugly hum and buzz. almost as if it doesn't want to sound angry. Thats where preamp and pedal distortion comes into play. Combining my effects with the versatility of such an amp can keep a guy infatuated with the endless possibilities of tone. Perfect sparking cleans, to guttural death metal roar, what can be achieved with this is nothing short of jaw dropping! No, its not a 2000$ ENGL and no its not a priceless boutique combo amp. Its a working musicians tool that can create and amplify that perfect tone you have in your head. Quality through and through, armed with GT power tubes, a power selection grid. oh, and it looks nice too.
Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 4100 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head:
This is a fantastic amp. Like all gearheads, I've owned Marshall, Mesa, Laney, Fender, Peavey, Bogner and on and on and on. I've been searching for my tone forever and all those other amps are good, but could never satisfy me fully. There was always something missing. The thing I like best about the Tourmaster is I don't have to fight it to get what I want. With all the other amps I've owned, they could do either a crunch/lead tone good or a nice clean, but never both. The Tourmaster is so versatile all four channels sound amazing and it's really easy to dial in. There are a lot of features which at first glance can be overwhelming, but once you start tweaking it, you see how effortlessly it responds. The EQ and Contour knobs are very responsive and actually do something good. In fact, I can dial in many different tones on just one channel and they're all usuable. Another great thing about this amp is how well it sits in the mix when playing live. I don't care if this is made in China, a good amp is a good amp, period!!!
Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 4100 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head:
This amp has an enormous variety of bells and whistles but some are much louder than othersI gave this amp a 3.5 for features because it has a ton of features but many aren't necessary. It has a separate 3 band eq and gain control for each of the four channels which is great and you can find some great sounds on all four. Unfortunately the main feature to lower and raise the wattage does nothing. With a very discerning ear you will notice a slight difference but don't buy this head for this. The contour switch is useful but you will have to adjust your eq settings to make it sound good. The FX loop is good, versatile and footswitchable. The reverb... just get a better one.For quality I said 4.5 because I haven't had any issues with it breaking down. It is made in china but if that is your concern don't buy anything ever. For value I gave it a 2.5 This amp has plenty of volume, options, 4 channels and sounds but none of them really sing. Take what you have saved for this save for a few more months and buy a mesa, engl, vht, diezel, super lead or something with monster tone.Bottom line this is a decent amp that sounds good if you put some boutique effects in your signal path to make up for it's shortcomings.
