Be wary, you get what you pay for.

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I have owned this cabinet thinking it would be a decent match for my Mesa Mark V head. And while the integrity of the cab is well enough, for not much more you could buy better. The celestions are NOT the ones made in the UK, they are chinese made and don't sound near as rich and full as the UK made ones.Yes, while you can replace speakers, I would just as soon recommend you save that extra bit and go with a Mills Acoustic, Mesa, or Avatar speaker cabinet.I now have a Mesa Rectifier 4x12 and it sounds FAR better than this cab. That being said, for the price, it isn't bad.

Celestions Made In China

By Waveform

from Washington DC

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

The Celestions made in Ipswitch, England depicted in the photos above are misrepresented. They are made in China, not England so you need to break them in for at least seven days. After the 6th day of running compressed revolving low frequencies at low levels enough to move air, losen the doping and flex the spiders they're finally starting to warm up. However, right out of the box it was the absolute worst cab I've ever heard and I run a Hiwatt. If they won't warm up and smooth out much more I'm going to replace them. Nonetheless, you can't beat it for the price if you buy it used or on clearance. And the cabinet it rather elegant-looking and very well constructed-- no need to seal the cab however you might want to consider installing oval ports in the back for proper pressure ventillation and a more rounded response because without them, the cab sounds rather flat and a bit lackluster.

Great Product

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Several months ago I bought this used along with a Tourmaster 4100. This is the first 4x12 I have owned and I love it. This has a nice deep full sound that I love. I recently bought a Peavey Classic 30 and plugged it into this cab and it instantly sounded 2x better. I'm considering buying the 2x12 so that I have something a little more portable because yes this cab is heavy but worth it.

chimey sounding

By Just J.

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I was looking for a 4X12 cab for my plexi clone...I did a side by side sound test tonight...I put a Marshall 1960 lead slant cab and the Egnator tour master 4X12 cab side by side and played them through a JVM Marshal head...The store didn't have a plexi on hand.I was with my brother whom is an active Bass player and helped with me out with an extra set of ears, standing near and far away from me when I played both cabs repeatedly through the JVM head. The out come was I preferred Marshall's sound over the Egnator. The Egnator had a chimy sound and seemed too bright for my taste. Marshall uses G12T drivers, they have a lower sounding edge and better for palm muting...Egnator uses vintage 30 and the difference sparkled in compairing the two...What was noticeable side by side was the briteness...Not the sound I was looking for but suitable for some I'm sure if this is what your looking for.I have to also make the comment that the two tone color on the Egnator cab is kinda strange. If this cab sounded better and I had decided to buy it I had told my brother even before trying it, I would have used black leather dye on the two tone tolex to rid it of the cream color.

Beats anything in this price range

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I got one of these a few months ago after buying a Peavey valveking head for cheap from a friend of mine. This suits it perfectly, I've tried the head with different cabs and heard many other people run it through different cabs and you just cant get the same sound out of anything else. I sold my distortion pedals because I don't even need them anymore, the distortion channel on the peavey sounds great through this. Yea it is very heavy, going up and down stairs is a hazard. But the shopping cart size caster wheels it comes with come in handy. I also like that I can choose between 16, 8, and 4 ohms.

Just got this thing

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Pros: The specs on this thing contrasted to the price are to die for. You could buy some more well-known name brand or boutique cab used for way more. As a matter of fact I was looking at an engl cab for $1250 before I found this thing. Literally the only difference in specs between the two were 40 watts in favor the the Egnater (probably a manufacturer bias, but who cares, we know where the speakers came from.) and the word "siberian" followed by birch, folded a million times. To me, birch is birch, if it's gonna cost an extra 650$ to fold it 13 more times then I'm sorry, but you lose my bid. Other pros: I mean honestly read the specs. like I said before, you can find the same setup in a cab made by mesa or engl but why pay twice the price, seriously? I mean seriously? cause they're exactly the same thing. Perhaps there's some slight difference in the durability of the higher end cabs, but now that I own one of these things I can say in regards to it, I hold no regrets in purchasing it. The speaker box itself appears to be assembled quite generically with no particular pros or cons. It sounds exactly as I wished it to sound, and the ONLY thing if ANYTHING I can complain about is...Cons: It's heavy... Really heavy... Also it's brown. If they made a solid black one I would've bought it instead, however, even that is no big deal to me. All things considered, I'm telling you buy this cab for the speakers alone. The added bonus of a quality birch cabinet is your choice.

Best cab i've ever owned

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I recently purchased this cab , I was nervous because I've never heard of it before, I mean I tryed it out before I purchased it of course. But anyways, I play a mesa dual rec through it, and it sounds amazing, I get more than enough low end on it, and the overall tone of it it great, I love the 30s in it, and i also love the look. Its a little heavy, but thats alright. I would recommend this cab to anyone.

amazing full sound

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

This cabinet is amazing. I use it with my vox ad100vth head and the thing just roars. I tested the amp out with at least a dozen different cabs until I finally tried this one. It has more low end responce than any other cab I tried. The cleans are natural and the distortion have amazing tone through the Eganter cab. The only downside to this cab is the weight. Tt's this birch construction is a hassle for someone like me who plays regular shows and has to carry this thing around. But overall this cab is just great.
