Same as the original but with some extras!
Electro-Harmonix has added an effects loop and attack response switch to create the Q-Tron+ effects pedal. The loop lets you place an additional effect between the unit's preamp and filter section without changing the envelope drive. The added switch lets you choose between a slow, smooth, vowel-like attack and the fast, snaked response of the original Q-Tron.

I have never used an envelope filter with so many features! There are so many marvelous sounds that you can make with this thing, that you won't believe it. Expect to play around with it a lot to get the sound you like best, though. It handles all of the low notes extremely well, even making the low B on my fretless Carvin 6 string into something that sounds fantastic. This is THE envelope filter, worth every penny.
This thing is the best effect ive ever heard in my life. Envelope filters are the coolest things, but this one is the best, kept for the orignal mutron of course, but this thing comes extremely close. Alot of tweaking options here. Perfect for finding the exact tone. I mainly use this to cover Dead songs like fire on the mountain, estimated prophet etc. I gave it a 8 because once someone tripped over it and it crapped out and i had to send it to the manufactured to fix it. But that only happened once, and i kick this around all the time and it holds up like a castle.
Holy smokes!!! This is one awesome pedal. My pedal set up is Q-Tron+ -> Crybaby -> Boss DS-1 -> Big Muff Pi -> Boss MD-2 -> Boss MT-2 -> Ibanez TS9DX -> Digitech Hyper Phase -> Small Stone -> Boss DD-20 -> Fender Blues Jr. Placed before distortion gives a range of sound. It makes your distortion pedal sound alive. It's hard to describe. It gives a wah like sound and it's delightfully responsive. It seems pretty sturdy. I wouldn't jump on it or anything, but I think it would survive a world tour if stored properly. This can be used for more funky style rythms, but I think it can make any genre sound pretty cool. I highly recommend it.
I have a large effects rig. The Qtron+ is by far the trickiest/most unique of all the pedals I have. When I first got it, it took some playing around... until I read the manual, lol. The manual (while very small) explains enough to get you going. I'm using an Ibanez SA Series guitar through a Peavey Classic 30 with a large chain of effects in the loop (reverb, delay, distortion, all types of modulation, etc). The Qtron+ is a very specific sound/effect. When used properly, it just sounds ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. If I ever had to, I'd buy another and no mistake.
