      Compelling sound-shaping with advanced control.

The programmable Stereo Talking Machine Vocal Formant Filter produces creative vowel-shaping that is controlled by the player's dynamics. Nine selectable Voices deliver vowel sounds such as AH-OO and OW-EE, as well as Bassballs and wah-type dynamic filters. The Voices can be shaped with individual Attack and Decay controls while Sensitivity adjusts the envelope response. The resulting effects mimic characteristics of human speech and create sounds that are both organic and harmonically rich.

As its name implies, the Stereo Talking Machine possesses true stereo outputs as well as an effects loop. An expression pedal Input provides realtime control over filter sweeps, while nine preset locations let you store and instantly recall favorite programs. The Stereo Talking Machine delivers compelling sound-shaping capability with advanced control.

      • Vocal vowel filter with 7 vowel modes
      • Wah and Baseballs modes
      • Adjustable Sensitivity control allows both up and down filter sweeps
      • Attack and Decay knobs control the speed of the envelope follower while it sweeps the filters
      • External effects loop allows effects to be placed on the filters without changing the envelope follower's dynamics
      • 9 presets

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Stereo Talking Machine Vocal Formant Filter Guitar Effects Pedal:

The STM is a great pedal. I use it on a 5 string bass with passive pickups and have no issues. My only complaint is that the pedal that was sent to me was obviously used. This is the second time this has happened to me. Pay new price, get used product. I hope MF gets it together and improves their Quality Assurance. Back to the pedal: in true EHX fashion a great pedal that can go subtle to extreme.

        Its what has been missing...

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Stereo Talking Machine Vocal Formant Filter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I would buy again in a heartbeat if lost or stolen. The killer sounds into an already great guitar setup will indeed "blow you away".... BUY ONE.... Now!
Many many filters, tones and wah effects with sweet distortion and modulation all wrapped up in a beefy metal box WITH memory for keeping your fav settings when switched off. Organic tone goodness with a soul!!!
I would have given a 10 if there was some way to protect the hard plastic knobs on top from breaking if this unit (heaven forbid) was ever dropped from high... All knobs and metal switches feel sturdy, with smooth action and with no issues...And case is hard metal.
here's the real deal... You just cant find another box that does what this box does, and it does it so well...

        Electro Harmonix Stereo Talking Machine

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Stereo Talking Machine Vocal Formant Filter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I will be spending a lot of time with this Gem and getting too know all of its potentials which seem endless but very User friendly. I only read the manual section on how too set Manually and use the Presets the rest was thru tweaking the knobs and listening carefully. This Pedal is very easy too operate and so much you can do like sitting behind a mixing console. These pedals are selling and I am chalenging all of the musicians whom have purchased this pedal too write a review whether you like it or not say what you feel if you have had the chance too tweak with it. Good Buy or Bad Buy Help your fellow musicians and write a Review End Of Story
Has a very Unique, Organic,Vintage Boutique, Analog, Liquid, Smooth and everything in between and beyond type of sound. Has the King Of Tone sound wrap up into this pedal with tons of other tones and features for half the price tag. Just think of the creamy Ibanez AF 201 and AF9 filter pedal and the Voodoo Lab Wahzoo Wah Pedal or the Providence Heat Blaster all these sounds and more can be dialed into this pedal I am sure a lot more as well because I have discoverd all of these tones in only one day. I don't play guitar but I am a pedal addict and I have or had all the pedals I have mentioned and I play my Kalimbas (Thumb Pianos) thru effect Pedals. As fore the vowel sounds they are not distinct thru my kalimbas most likely they are thru Guitars which have stronger pickups and Input and Output. Kalimbas are Acoustic and are powered with Piezo Pickups. I still get a Useable sound with most of the vowel presets. Built Solid
Well worth the money. I can appreciate some Boutique Pedals being born with the struggling Proffessional and Amature Musicians in mind. Go out and try this pedal or just buy it if your home town does not carry it. You won't regret buying this pedal has a of pedals wrap up into this one pedal. I suggest you experiment with a booster pedal or a Overdrive or some type of pedal too boost the volume a little but you may be fine without it remember I have an Acoustic Instrument with a Piezo Pickup.
