OVERVIEW

An all analog buffer designed to save you from signal loss and preserve your tone.

The Empress Buffer+ was designed to be the complete I/O interface for the pedal board, while maintaining the highest fidelity to your guitar's signal. Signal loss due to long, un-buffered cable runs is an issue that has plagued guitar players for decades. The primary goal of the buffer+ is to eliminate this signal loss, ensuring that your tone is unchanged by your cables. Additionally, all the connectivity of your pedal board is consolidated to make set up quick and easy. The Buffer+ also has a very handy set of features that make life just a little better. Noise filters, input pads, switchable clean boost and input loading are all powerful tools available on the Buffer+

FEATURES
  • All Analog Signal Path - no digitals in here
  • Small Size - The enclosure measures approximately 4.5" by 2.5" by 1.5", which is delightfully small when considering all the features packed into this unit
  • Tuner Out - Separate tuner output keeps your tuner out of the audio path
  • Complete I/O - All the connections to your pedal board consolidated in one place. Makes setup and teardown quick and easy
  • Switchable Boost - Dial in up to 30dB of clean boost and switch on and off with the soft touch foot switch
  • Tuner Mute - Hold the footswitch for a second and mute the amp output for tuning
  • Noise Filters - Similar to Dolby's noise filter technology, choose between 2 different noise filters to remove any unwanted noise from your effects chain
  • Input Pad - Pad or boost the input by 3dB. Great for matching outputs of different guitars, reducing really hot active pickup signal or boosting the signal to your effects to improve signal to noise ratio
  • Input Loading - Load down your pickups a little, a lot or not at all. It's up to you

Comments about Empress Effects Buffer+ Analog I/O Interface Guitar Pedal with Switchable Boost:

This pedal gave my tone exactly what I needed!! I have 12 pedals on my pedalboard and 30ft of guitar cables. That's tons of cables my tone has to go through. My tone was really suffering, sounded like there was a wall in between the amp and myself. After doing some research, a buffer is what I needed. I chose this buffer because of the loop and boost features. I placed the buffer at the end of my board by looping the last pedal on my board. Turned it on and my tone went from sounding like being behind a wall to right in my face. Awesome pedal!! Everything sounds amazing!!! Even if you don't have a setup like mine, this pedal is a must have!!!

Comments about Empress Effects Buffer+ Analog I/O Interface Guitar Pedal with Switchable Boost:

With the evolution of true bypass and long cables, you need a buffer but may not realize it. Some (true bypass) pedals have buffered bypass options, other do not. I searched my options in the buffer world and finally decided to take the plunge on this one. The added options of a clean boost, tuner out, input gain or cut and a noise filter make this pedal worth every penny. The beauty of it is the use of buffered effects loop idea rather than just a buffer in a chain. If you are in need of a buffer, drop the little extra coin and grab this one.

Comments about Empress Effects Buffer+ Analog I/O Interface Guitar Pedal with Switchable Boost:

These are very handy, have them on two boards and have been using them since they first came out. The buffer seems totally neutral, but can be tweaked darker if desired. The end-of-chain clean boost is really useful, perhaps very slightly bright. The tuner output means you can run your tuner always on, something I've come to rely on.

There is an issue with the power and I/O crammed together on the left side. I had to use different patch cables to get it all to fit on Pedaltrain boards. [A new and similar Mesa buffer seems to have a very similar layout, and presumably the same issue.]

Comments about Empress Effects Buffer+ Analog I/O Interface Guitar Pedal with Switchable Boost:

I was planning on putting a buffer between my Wah and Fuzz, however the output jack on this pedal is on the right. Just backwards to what it should be. The pedal didn't perform like the video demonstration at all.
