This clear vocal quality of this pedal is amazing!I own a late 60's Vox wah. Although I love the tone, it's not practical to use something so unique during club dates. I needed something non-coloring, true bypass, that sounded good out of the box (I'll tweak it later). After plugging into it, I noticed how much clearer my tone was. The heel position still retains clarity, where most others turn to mud.The highs are clear and articulate, never shrill. In all, a beautiful, full, usable range.I am currently using Ibanez guitars fitted with DiMarzio D-Sonic & Air Norton pickups into a Mesa/Boogie Mark V combo.I play a wide range of music and need a wah that can do the same.Bingo! This is it!

Look, I'm all for companies trying something new, but really, this pedal was a big let down. I've used Crybabys for 20 years and thought I'd give it a shot and try something new. First off the price was pretty high so I was expecting something built like a tank...the pedal stopped working after only two rehearsals. I'm going back to Crybaby, more specifically a Crybaby Classic.

        Correction rather than review

The text indicates that the wah it's true bypass and it's not, even the actual manufacture specs. states that it is a low imepedance buffered output.

will I still use my crybaby?

        By modest_in_oly

        from Olympia

It's a good wah. Fully useable. I loved my 1994 dunlop wah but this just has so much more to offer. Tonally you can use the whole sweep of the potentiometer, not just that crybaby sound but tonally the thing is responsive and again useable almost anywhere along the sweep. I was happy with my crybaby, I'm sure I won't get rid of it, but for now, I can use this pedal get everything my dunlop did and more. EB did it right with this pedal. Also, the aluminum construction is beautiful as well as strong. For someone you tends to stand on their wah, this is a GREAT asset along with it being so much more useable tonally.

        Ernie Ball 6185

        By Shplackaplow

I use several different guitars, one of them being a Stratocaster. I own the Crybaby 535Q as well and I prefer it on my Les Paul or Explorer. The Ernie Ball, however, is the much more suited for my Strat. It doesn't have the extreme treble which is caused by the guitar as much as the pedal. Besides the sound, the thing is built like a tank and the sweep is as great as the description says. Very nice wah in my opinion and good for people that don't like to tweak pedals. You just plug it in and go because it's already voiced.

        THE BIG SWEEP

        By WHONEEDSABAND?

from PHOENIX AZ, CITY OF NO COMPETITION

Tested the EB Wah at a local music store with my other pedals and within 5 minutes I was sold on it. First, you only have to step on it toe forward to rock the cradle and I love the Alien Green LED light, adjustable action for those who have a light or led foot, and the tonal sweep arc sounds great with my tube amps' dirt channel, clean channel and my Metal Zone pedal (even those who prefer the Metal Core). There's no screaming feedback in the high end and after you work with a wah for a week or so, you can really make your solos incredibley expressive; in fact you have to take care not to use the EB on EVERY solo c'os its quite addictive! Yes its a bit pricey and I can't say how long the inner components will wear over time, but its built like Fort Knox and as heavy as a gold bar, tough enough no matter where you wah! Get it or regret it!

Okay but get a Crybaby Original

        By Nunya-g6YWq

        from Greenville, MS

I bought this locally so I payed a bit more for it. It's okay and the light is helpful but unnecessary. I don't like the high end of this one. It goes so high and gets so loud that I can't stand it. I thought maybe I was just not using it right until I bought my 16 year old a Crybaby Original and I was so jealous that I tried to talk him into taking my Earnie Ball 6185!

Well I Have this wah since it's out and to me I never saw a better wah! First its sweep is so sweet and has more sweep action than a Cry Baby. the tone is smoother and the Led tell you when its on so to me is one of the best wah's out there. Cry baby's a are good but they have to much treble. EB Wah is your best wah ever.

Great Unique Sounding & Rugged Wah

        By Kurtster

        from USA

I picked up this Wah shortly after it came out. I have owned it about 9 months and had no problems. I have tried a lot of Wah pedals in my day including all the usual suspects plus a few boutique Wah's as well. I find this one to be among the better ones I've tried out and owned. The voicing is a little different than some the classics, but not a total departure, just a bit different in it's own way. The pedal is rugged, and I think the dual LED's is a great feature for dimly lit lighting on stage and a feature I'd like to see standard on every Wah. You can adjust the pedal on/off sensitiviity by simply loosening the lock nut on the switch right under the foot treadle and fine tune it to turn on and off with more or less foot pressure. -nice feature as I usually end up turing off my wah accidentally with most other wah's mid solo which is annoying. -this one solves that problem. The only thing lacking to me is a solo boost kick switch. This thing has a nice big foot pedal. Another feature I like is that the sweep of the pedal is a little more than what you get with the vintage style wah's. On the downside the "street price" it is a bit overpriced by about $20-30 dollars imo, but maybe it will come down a bit in price once it is out on the market a while longer. Nevertheless, there are other Wah's out there in this price range and above that are not any better sounding than this one. If you're looking for a something with a slightly different tonality in a rugged housing with a few features not found on the usual wah pedals, I'd say give this one a try. I have been playing guitar over 30 years, and I can tell you this Ernie ball Wah is as good as any I've tried, and better than some. I don't think you will be disappointed from a quality standpoint.

        Smooth action, flowing sound

        By Mr. Hot Licks

        from Hesperia, CA

Ok, this unit sounds like what a wah should sound like. Many of them try to do to much. If I want distortion, I have pedals for that. Simple click on and off and move your foot and that is all you need. Built rugged, will take a punch. I will have this the rest of my life.
