Just so everyone knows, this volume pedal is designed for instruments that produce active signal. For the most part, guitars produce a passive signal. Unless of course you have active pickups. If your guitar doesn't require a battery then it's passive, in which case you should consider a different pedal! If you don't believe me look at the description that says "active volume pedal" The potentiometer has a 25k ohm resistance suitable for the audio path of active instruments or buffered effect returns. A passive pickup requires at least a 250K resistance. I'm not saying this won't work with passive pickups, I'm just saying it's not designed for it.

Junk

Very first use, noisy crackling dirty volume pot. Had to return. Ruined my faith in the brand.

Excellent pedal for keyboards, exceptional build quality

      By Joseph Valerio

      from Freeport, NY USA

Comments about Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K Active Volume Pedal:

I purchased this pedal to control volume on my Yamaha PSR-S550 keyboard. There were many choices but after a lot of research I selected the Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K. I expected the build quality to be good and it is in fact quite remarkable! I am an engineer by profession and this pedal is made from solid billet aluminum. The fit and finish are fantastic. The action is silky-smooth on the bearing. Yes, this pedal relies on a cord and spring arrangement to control a potentiometer but as a design/maintenance engineer I would probably go the same route. This pedal is easily maintainable! As for the control of volume, it works quite well. The action is almost linear with more sound increase going on at a faster rate towards the end of the pedal travel, but this is to be expected. After about two hours of use I got used to it pretty nicely. Audio quality is clean, I can detect no tone problems or static/distortion at all, at least to my ears. It's as solid as a brick from all standpoints. A winner.

      Works perfectly with M9

      By alex coydan

Comments about Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K Active Volume Pedal:

Got this pedal to work as an expression pedal for my Line 6 M9. It was totally plug and play. I didn't have to futz with the settings at all to make it work.
This thing is built like a tank.
Great price great value. I'm already considering getting another one.

It Breaks after not very long

      By Lele

Comments about Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K Active Volume Pedal:

I bought this pedal and have been using it as an expression pedal for my Line 6 M13 effects processor. It works great with the M13, however I started to have some accuracy problems with the values since the pedal wouldn't give me the exact value on the top position everytime. After 8 months of using it the string broke! what a bad design this is! I don't want to have a pedal that I have to repair every few months!! Ernie ball should think better and redesign this thing!

      Great as an expression pedal

Comments about Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K Active Volume Pedal:

This thing makes a great expression pedal for the Line 6 M9/M13. Solid build as I expected since I already use the 6166 as a volume pedal. They are easy to fix as well if and when a pot goes bad or a kevlar string breaks.

      Good but...

      By BBabs

      from Boston, MA

Comments about Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K Active Volume Pedal:

This volume pedal works great, nice and smooth. However, the string the spins the potentiometer broke on mine. They really should have used a heavier string or plastic coated cable. Now I have to figure out how to take apart the thing and get a new string in there. Also, it is a bit expensive for what it is. I do really like the solid metal construction though.

      Sick Pedal

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K Active Volume Pedal:

This is an amazing pedal. At the moment, my pedalboard is growing and this was one of the first to be added. First, since this pedal is passive, it requires no battery of expensive power cord. Another great thing is the tuner output. This is great so you can tune silently. Since having this pedal, I have had no problems or complaints at all. BY THIS PEDAL!!!!

      Bass Volume Pedal

      By lowtones-VG5Uj

      from Rohnert Park, CA

Comments about Ernie Ball VP Junior 25K Active Volume Pedal:

I switch between electric upright, five-string and for string basses and need to do it quickly. So the ability to make volume adjustments on the fly was my primary reason for purchasing this pedal. And silent tuning is a nice benefit too. This is a smooth, solid pedal and I notice no noise at all, running it through the effects loop of my amp. A very well made product with a lifetime repair plan.
