Comments about Eventide ModFactor Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a great sounding pedal. It has a lot of features and you can get tons and tons of different modulation sounds. It also has great online help. You can backup your libraries online, and you can edit them on your computer. The problem I have with this pedal is: I play 4-5 nights a week, and this pedal doesn't hang. It sounds great, no complains there, and I've gotten used to it, but all the Eventide power supplies are the worst thing ever. It's hard to believe that they make such bad power supplies for such expensive pedals. Also noticed that over time, the switches begin to act up. One of them get's stuck inside and I have to take it apart to pull it back out, and another one stops working and I have to tap it constantly for it to work again. I have a huge pedal board, and I have other pedals from TC, Boss, Blackstar, and even boutique pedals that have been there just as long or longer than the eventide, and they're still in mint condition. Bottom line, if you're some one that works a lot, I would maybe say get something that can take more of a beating. If you're going to use this occasionally, or in the studio, it's a great pedal.

Studio rack tone in a stomp box!

Comments about Eventide ModFactor Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have called and you get the guy in the videos.. The updates are like getting a 20 new pedal
Reviews here cover pretty well. Since they were all written ET has two updates. They add some amazing tweak able presets and the ability to toggle up an down. The algorithm for saving a tone, synching the midi, and setting up an expression pedal must be learned and practiced. You can name them. Go the website to get great and easy to follow video instruction. Also updates which are almost a reason to own these.. They are like giving you 20 or 30 really useful combo presets. Tweak and rename at will. The midi isn't mentioned by other reviewers. Pretty easy to synch two of these or more so they are now on the same clock and mix.. For me time factor and modfactor. It is really a fun day to mix these two to your set list. When you dial up one you disk up both. If you want to drop one during a performance just left click and done. There is no match for this combo but you MUST commit to getting comfortable with the alchemy of two clocks in each pedal. I agree that aside from auto wah which is good the expression is best for rotary and undulate/vib. You can match the Clapton tape head undulate sound of while my guitar gently weeps spot on. If you want to get freaky with slow to fast wave or sputter or a taste of ring mod you need a earnie ball junior pedal. I also put a digitech three button to go faster to my saved presets. Right now I have the big Earnie Ball volume with a pederson strobe going to a fulltone wah then fulltone dual drive fuzz(500) to a black star dual overdrive distotion(creamier tube tone)to the mod factor timefactor. They are midi wired and I use the stereo out off the time factor to go to two amps. Right now a randall AC 30 preamped and a Montgomery ward class A with a little Jenson. The Randall has greenbacks. I put a electro harmonix reverb at the end of this loop.
This tone palet will take you anywhere and just fits on a SKB power board which has two out loops for the stereo amps.
The time factor is so well paired here.
If you really love tone and tweak ability look no further..
You get more than you pay for here. This is how you get to the next level. 800 is less than a guitar or decent AMP and you will play these..I am sure .

Comments about Eventide ModFactor Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:

After owning many different brands and types of pedals I finally looked at the Eventide stompboxes and took a "chance". Glad I did! Sold my other modulation effects and use this one for all of my Flanger, Chorus, Phaser, etc... needs. Very pure and prisitine effects that do not suck tone at all. There is a learning curve but it doesn't take much to get on it and the possibilies are near endless with this unit. Little pricey for "one pedal" but it's not just one pedal it's 10 effects; add that up! I also have the TimeFactor as well and a PitchFactor on the way! Great job Eventide - keep it up!

      GREAT PRODUCT!

      By Anonymous

Comments about Eventide ModFactor Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought a new Eventide ModFactor a few days ago......and man is this good product. I run it though my FX Loop of my TSL100 and it's very transparent (if you choose) no pre-amps, true bypass and studio quality for sure. The ModFactor built like a tank and is based on their expensive rack units and add Tap tempo to it and the sky is the limit.....and for you guys who love rotarys and those who like the classic haunting swells of the Eventide Undulator, and all the basic modulated effects (Chorus, Phaser, Flanger and Tremolo)....this is a great product. Phaser - Very nice, every basic type of phaser (positve, negative and bi-phase). Flanger - you can go from lush to jet engine. Chorus - liquid, organic or simmer styles. Rotary - This may be on of the best Rotary Emulators out there, you can really very the speed of the horn or the speaker by analog knob and even slow or speed up the worble by foot.....it is very lush and full and I would think use in a stereo mode would sound amazing. Maybe it's not the real thing but it's the best simulator rotary that I've heard and that includes the Fulltone Deja-vu....it's that good. TremoloPan - several type of waves and swells available here, coupled with tap tempo can absolutely rattle the windows. Undulator - This is a very unique effect...it's a very distinctive type of horror movie style delay and with a swell capability engaged, is really dark and eri...it really reads your pick pressure and is amazing! Vibrato - I don't have really any use for this type of effect...do they use this for Surf Rock?...anyway, you can do alot to the signal in this mode. Q-Wah - Don't throw your good ole Cry Baby just yet...wah in the loop isn't exactly creamy...however you can add an expression pedal to manually, the vocal voiced mode isn't terrible if you were doing the right song....but for us rockers...wah has got to go in the front of a guitar signal path. ModFilter - you can get some spacy modern techno things from this, but not very practical....and again I don't have really much use from this...however, I did dial down one of the pre-sets for this and added a little something to a power chord...gave it some fullness...so I'd say it has potential. RingMod - you can really double a octive down melodies on the sixth string...I'm sure I'll have to explore this effect more as I think it also has transparent qualities that, when dialed down, can add some nuance to a signal.

This is a great unit. I play with a lot of different artists and am constantly learning new songs and having to dial new tones. The Mod factor has finaly allowed me my board back for other pedals and sounds SOOOO great. I use alot of backline amps and this sounds great through all of them. Not to overpowering.

Comments about Eventide ModFactor Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:

If you're looking for a multi-modulation pedal, move on to something else. I ordered one of these and never even got it to work. I spent six hours the first night I owned it just trying to get the software update to work. Incredibly, the update utility erased all the software off the machine, then failed to install the new software. I tried everything I could think of to get it to work, I even uninstalled my firewall and virus protection software. Nothing. I know software issues aren't always easy, but after spending $400 for a single pedal I expected something better. Move along, move along...
